Northgate Market

Oh no it is currently at 2:25 on 4th of July I came into this Northgate Market never been here before to grab something to eat because we're starving and it's on the way to the beach. I ordered the combination plate which had beef beans and rice and tq1hen I looked down at my feet and there is a roach about the size of a kid's fingernail and just running across the floor. It didn't look like it I didn't have been poisoned or I was dying of some sort it look like it was Fresh Off The Cockroach boat needless to say not that 2 minutes later do that same cockroach to get eaten by a bird that was inside. That's right inside there was a wild bird and it came down and ate the roach I don't know if this was a planned events where they keep the birds inside so that they eat roaches for whatever reason it worked and then I felt more comfortable with the food that I just ordered and paid for ask the lady for back she said she all ran out that I can go to the front and get one let those signs for 5 or 6 people deep so I opted to ask the manager for one he also replied I would need to stand in line to get a bag. So I'm reading 83 because I'm sure that the food is good, but the ambience was not the best.

Been coming for breakfast and lunch lately. The hot plate area has good egg options, tamales are legit and tender cut of carnitas, ribs, chicken by the pound at a reasonable rate. Decent service, place is usually clean.

Great location to get seasoned meat, and chicken for making tacos. Fresh tamales, and tortas in the deli area. Pan dulce and cakes for all your treats and occasions. Worth the trip.

My new favorite store, too bad I live in Kentucky 😭 this ceviche is magnificent!!! A fifth of Tito's was $17.22 😃 The smells from the bakery are alluring. ❤️ beautiful produce as well. Oh, I can't say enough good things about the tamales 👨‍🍳

Busy AF any time but mostly weekends. The tamales are as good as my mom's for reals. Good variety of produce and meat. Bakery and kitchen close earlier so if you try to get a last minute bite, well good luck with that. Overall is a good Mexican oriented market but expect to spend sometime at checkout the lines are horrendous. No self checkout lines.

I live near buy this place, and like going early in the morning before it gets packed. I do my grocery shopping here. Some prices are a little high, but if you calculate the time and distance to a cheaper place. It's about the same if not cheaper getting it here. I usually look for nayeli the cashier. She is friendly and super polite. Fast too.

Lots of new items. Authentic pottery and kitchen gadgets. Largest selection of spices fresh and dried.

I like this Gonzalez for their food at affordable prices. I come here like 3 times a week for their bakery, or from the hot foods section. The staff could be more friendlier and cheerful when helping customers which is why I cannot offer at 5* at this time.
