My husband went on The Northern Lights tour with a group of friends while I was home sick! Here is his review: Had a wonderfully fantastic experience viewing the Northern Lights. We were a group of 9 and enjoyed a spectacular viewing of the Northern Lights. There was a cabin with a wood burning stove that we used to warm up. The cabin had seating for all of us where we could enjoy a hot beverage and snacks along with great conversation. Our experienced guide was very knowledgeable about the Northern Lights explaining the wondrous phenomenon. When visiting Whitehorse, Northern Tales is a must do and see to capture the essence and experience of the Yukon! Thank you Northern Tales for making this adventure a beautiful memorable experience.

Absolutely Unforgettable Experience! We had the most amazing time with this tour company — the hosts Emily and Aaron were fantastic and went above and beyond to make the trip truly memorable. We did the premium tour and it was worth every penny. One of the biggest highlights was seeing the Northern Lights not once, but twice out of our four nights — and during a full moon! Everyone told us it wasn’t possible to see the aurora under a full moon, but we did, and it was absolutely magical. The scenic drive to Alaska was stunning — you really get to take in the raw beauty of the Yukon, and the landscapes are breathtaking. Another unforgettable stop was the Yukon Wildlife Preserve — we saw every single animal, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. You could tell they really cared about what they do, which made the experience even more special. After the preserve, we relaxed at the natural hot springs, and I can’t recommend it enough — the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. If you're considering booking a tour, don’t hesitate. This was the trip of a lifetime!

Our family had the most unforgettable five days in Whitehorse, and that’s all thanks to Northern Tales! Emily and Aaron are two of the warmest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. From the very first email to the final drop off at the airport, everything was seamless, thoughtful, and stress-free. Their passion for the Yukon and for hosting shines through in everything they do, and it made our family reunion such a special experience. Highlights included the drive to Alaska (it was absolutely breathtaking) then the Wildlife Preserve where our guide Andrew shared so much knowledge about each animal, ending the day at the hot springs, surrounded by gorgeous mountain views! And of course, the Northern Lights!! We were lucky enough to see them twice, while cozying up by the fire with hot drinks and snacks which they had provided for us. Esteve, our guide for the Aurora nights, was fantastic. He kept the group laughing and took pictures so we could all just be present in the moment. It’s rare to find a company that combines professionalism with such genuine care and heart. Emily and Aaron went above and beyond and Northern Tales exceeded every expectation, and I can’t recommend them enough!!

I can’t say enough amazing things about our experience with Northern Tales! From start to finish, Emily, Aaron, and the whole team ensured we were taken care of. The small touches added made it more personal and inviting. For example, when viewing the northern lights, the team put together a cozy welcome with food and drinks! They also provided pads to make sitting on the tree stumps more comfortable. I highly recommend doing the premium tour into Alaska…the views were breathtaking! I will never forget this trip and the amazing nature we experienced. If you are looking to do a northern adventure, book with Northern Tales!!!

Northern Tales provided us with an epic winter getaway from Vancouver! We loved every moment of this trip even without getting to see the lights (too much cloud coverage). The guides are top notch - special shoutout to Rina, Kevin, Naomi, Pablo & Madison! We can’t wait to come back again soon :)

First class service and awesome attention to detail. There is so much to do that we are planning a return trip! You can be as busy as you want or chilled as a glacier. Be prepared to be blown away the beauty and history of the area. Do not hesitate to put your vacation in the hands of Northern Tales. They are, "Your Gateway to the Yukon"!

Wonderful trip to Whitehorse – November 2025 We had an amazing trip to Whitehorse! We were lucky enough to see the aurora on two nights, and both experiences were unforgettable. Our guide Pablo was wonderful—he picked us up at the airport, gave us a helpful orientation, and joined us for our first aurora night. He was kind, friendly, and made everything smooth. The city tour with Rina was great too. She was fun and informative, and we even spotted a caribou! On our second aurora night, Naoimi guided us. He was very professional and took the time to explain everything as we watched the lights together. Overall, a fantastic trip with amazing guides. Highly recommended!

Northern Tales brought us an aurora viewing experience lasting for years and likely forever! 3 years ago, I posted the following review in TripAdvisor right after our trip. The upcoming Christmas once again makes us recall the beautiful memories. The moment I exchanged emails with Northern Tales, I felt we would be in their good hands. The staff replies fast, clearly and patiently. In the morning we checked in the hotel, one staff greeted us warmly and explained the arrangements in detail. We joined the aurora tour for 2 nights. Aaron, Bernie and Tom are very friendly and experienced guides. They led us to the site about 30-minute drive away from the hotel. In the first night, we were so lucky to see lots of activity. Calvin, the photographer, captured the beautiful lights and us with his camera. He also offered help in setting my camera in the best manual mode. I got wonderful snapshots. In the second night, there was little aurora activity. We stayed in the warm and filled-with-drink-and-snacks cabin. The guide talked about Yukon animals, landscape and everything. We talked back and chatted with other participants. We thank Northern Tales for bringing us such an unforgettable experience!
