Noir Paddington

Great place to enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles with a friend to catch up. Staff were great at making sure we were happy with our drinks. Only thing was they couldn’t split the bill by item and did an even split instead.

So dissapointing since change of management. This place used to be great Long wait times now and stressed out, harried staff. Service by the older guy (owner?) really sub par. We waited over 20 minutes for drinks and a tostie and the bar had only 3 other tables. I see a constant change of the good staff. Avoid!

Came with a group of friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine and charcuterie board which was delicious!! The lady serving us was very helpful with recommendations. Only negatives was there wasn’t much of an atmosphere which might be the fact that we came on a Thursday arvo and there wasn’t much of a choice on the menu… we were definitely looking for more food options after a few glasses of wine.

As a noir regular, I went back recently after the change in management and was sorely disappointed. I requested an orange wine and was asked by the waiter if "orange wine even existed", although it was previously on the menu. The waiter was also unable to recommend any wines (which was a highlight of coming to noir previously) and specifically told us he "didn't know much about wine". In saying this, the quality of the food has improved and the new menu looks delicious. Hoping this experience was just a shaky start for the new management!

I went to noir recently and unfortunately the change of ownership has made us decide we’ll never return. Condescending, and rude, considering we were the only guests there you would think otherwise from the owner themself & being a new owner to the previously lovely bar. Such a shame to lose this place as a spot, but not going to spend money on someone that has no warmth or hospitality.

Unfortunate they have changed owners. Wine selection is not up to usual standard and service is lacking. Surroundings, ambience and small things such as glassware are not as good as the old management and seem cheap. I don’t know if I would go back which is sad because it used to be a regular.
