This was by far my favorite museum in DC, and I am so sad that it’s closing. There aren’t many museums that actively try to include current events in their exhibits, but the Newseum is such an amazing blend of the old and the new. This was such a great way for everyone to educate themselves on the importance of freedom of the press. I hope they open again in a new location soon because, now more than ever, it is so important to stress the need for accurate, thorough reporting.

Freedom of the press, religion, speech, assembly and petition....the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution. This museum covers it all and then some. The exhibits are engaging and emotionally charged. There is so much to see and learn, you could easily spend an entire day in the museum and still comeback for more. They also have a great community outreach arm for members. I was moved by many of the exhibits; especially the 9/11 and fallen journalist memorials. I was also really surprised about some of the countries, who do not have freedom of the press....their world map was a really good visual. I'm really sad this place is closing....we really need this museum and its wealth of knowledge. I hope they are able to relocate. Thank you.

Is there a better museum for someone obsessed with the news? Can’t say as I’m not, but I loved this place anyway. There is a huge collection of old newspapers in climate controlled slide outs for visitors to browse. Highlights include the Berlin Wall display that features the largest contiguous section of actual 12’ wall and guard tower outside Germany! More than a museum this place is a celebration of free speech and accurate reporting and important major events that are so critical to understanding American history and the freedoms we might take for granted. Seeing pieces of history from important news events was a sobering experience well worth the visit.

Unfortunately the museum will be closing Dec 2019. Had a 1st time opportunity to visit and disappointed I didn't visit earlier. Nice preview on the 1st floor of how to navigate your visit. Recommend you start from the 6th floor observation deck where the views of the Capitol and PA Avenue are breathtaking. Very picturesque. Every floor layout is noteworthy and captivating. The interactive media center is fun and entertaining. Very interesting in reading the headlines from across the world. You will need a minimum of 3 to 4 hours to thoroughly enjoy this museum. Glad I visited before it closes.

Super fun, funny, educative and emotional place! You get a chance to be a reporter for a hot minute! View from the terrace is wonderful! Lots of crowds in the mid afternoon. The museum is closing is end of 2019 so GO NOW!!

My kids and I loved this museum. The content was wonderful, the parking was close by, and the staff was amazing. If you are into Journalism like my daughter you will have a great time. We spent over 3 hours looking at all of the exhibits and still ran out of time.

What strikes me the most about this museum is all the space used to show so little. Don’t get me wrong; there is lots of interesting things but this museum could be half the size and double the availability. For non-Americans Newseum is not that interesting but is does hold a few great exhibitions and among them is the fantastic 500 Years of News. The exhibition ends with the rise of the internet which illustrates in itself why this museum is getting less relevant: Journalists and media are not that important, interesting any more. A ticket is 26$ which is far more than the visit is worth. No wonder it closes at new year.

Unfortunately it is closing out. I had a really nice time going visiting the daily show exhibit, as a huge fan of Jon Stewart. The exhibition for the award winning photos is also really interesting. You got to be ready to experience some intense emotion visting these historical moments.
