"The hotel’s famously lavish café presents a Disneyfied take on Belle Époque café society: ornate décor and theatrical presentation draw cruise-weary tourists who linger over goulash, pose for selfies, and indulge in an escapist, staged version of historic urban café life." - Chris Wallace Chris Wallace Chris Wallace is a New York-based writer and photographer. Over 125 years old, it was the nicest cafe in the world at the time it was built where artists and writers gathered. Nowadays, they have lots of foie gras on the menu. Bourdain ate: goose liver terrine, pork throttle stew. Lunch date: Peter Zilahy, poet and performing artist.

I really do love this place. It’s opulent, dramatic and unapologetic in its excess. The interiors are beautiful, the food of a great quality, and the servers and kitchen try so hard to deliver you the very best experience. The best way to enjoy it is as a guest of the hotel, so you dine in a separate area away from the crowd. Their breakfast service is truly incredible and always the highlight of my stay. It’s well worth it and the hotel itself is similarly luxurious. It’s the only way to skip the frightful queue outside too. If you don’t end up dining in as a hotel guest, be prepared to stand in line for a fair amount of time. There are very often dozens of people in the line at all times of the day.

Gorgeous cafe, upscale with a pricey tag on everything you order 。 large variety of combos and tea to order from. Everything was delicious. We enjoyed this experience very much. Especially the violin play. Glad to checked off one more items off of our Hungry list . Now let’s talk about the service and atmosphere. Super touristy. Long line, long wait, crowded, high noise level. Service felt rushed and no personal touch at all. Plus not all servers speak English. It’ll be a much enjoyable experience if there is less people, less noise, and you actually enjoy the food while listening to the music without people standing over your shoulder to watch you eat. Highly recommend to come at a downtime, If you can find one .

Do not recommend! Way overpriced for coffee and desserts. We ordered 2 coffee and desserts and the coffees were cold. The ambience is nice but the washroom has no soap. You are better off just go in and take some pictures and leave. Don’t waste your money like I did, 65 euro for 2 coffees and desserts. Tourist Trap!

had such a wonderful experience at New York Caffe! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of modern style and cozy charm. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the very first moment. The coffee is rich and flavorful, and the selection of drinks and desserts is truly impressive. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great service, and lose track of time in the best way. Definitely a spot I would recommend to anyone looking for a special café experience.

Absolutely stunning! Wow. We arrived early as recommended, so we hardly had to wait (after 8:30am the line gets very long and you can’t reserve in advance for mornings). There was a pianist playing lovely music, and the atmosphere was simply breathtaking. The food was quite nice, with delicious pastries. The staff were polite, though not exceptionally attentive. Still, overall it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it!

We only visited the restaurant. It is a beautiful cafe. The history is that it was the New York Insurance company building and they basically went all out on the construction. Totally stunning interior. We waited maximum 5 minutes but it was a bit later. We came for just dessert and coffee. I think they could offer better dessert options. They really didn't have a cake, which is what we wanted. The "cake" is a 1cm sponge with a bunch of mouse on top. It wasn't cake but it tasted okay. The price is high for most items. You are definitely paying to look at the interior of the building and take photos, which is what most people were doing - walking around taking photos and being in the servers way. Go one time and that's enough

Came at 9:30am on a Sunday . Didn’t wait more than 15 minutes to be seated. Enjoyed the live music. The place is beautiful and staff friendly. We had the French toast and the porridge. The portions were fairly small for the price. The 24 carat gold hot chocolate with caramel was amazing! Best hot chocolate I’ve ever had! Lots of thick foam on top. I highly recommend-

This is a serious social media verse reality place. This is a huge tourist attraction. My suggestion, yes go and visit go early like 9am queue for about 20 mins to get a table. Once you’re in just have a coffee/drink. The food is nothing like the photo and extremely overpriced. Food was cold, when asked for it to be warm she did bring out a fresh breakfast however this was cold too. It was pathetic size portions. Go for the photos, the building and the music . The music was wonderful. Service was very miserable, none of the staff look like they want to be there unfortunately. It was actually an awful experience It cost £56 and it was money wasted.
