Native Tongues Taqueria - Victoria Park

Food was amazing especially the lamb birria and pork belly taco. Service was average, couldn’t find our server half the time and when I would see her, she would be on her phone or dancing to the music. Big respect to the kitchen team for putting out delicious dishes. Would only come back for the food.

I had high expectations for the food here. I didn’t really like most of tacos I got. The Haddock, steak and maybe birria were good. Otherwise, the rest wasn’t that good. Enjoyed my time here regardless. Would love to go back to try something different.

We picked a Mexican restaurant that specializes in tacos for gathering, and I have to say, the pork belly pilbil taco was absolutely divine—perfect in both texture and flavor. Definitely a game-changer! The carnitas, as a classic taco option, was also flawless (Mexicans really know how to cook pork). The slow-braised beef and mushroom cheese tacos were more average in comparison. Overall, it’s definitely an authentic spot, and the price reasonable service is good as well! Definitely a place worth revisiting!

Great service and atmosphere, plus just the overall vibe that lends itself to gathering with good friends for good food. For a Tuesday the restaurant was pleasantly half full as we came in for happy hour- yet service was prompt and staff were friendly. We were glad to ask about food and drink recommendations that did not fail to impress (*especially impressed with the Pork Belly Pibil, Torta Sandwich + zero proof Selva Dorado tropical cocktail heart 🧡 🧡 🧡 Truly wish I'd taken more pictures but all the more reason to visit again!!)

Very disappointed tonight. Ordered a few tacos, chips & guacamole, quesadilla, and the papas sencillas. Everything was cold and meat in the tacos were very dry. Some tacos lacked flavour. Quesadillas were almost too salty whereas the potato dish was lacking in flavour. If I wanted disappointing Mexican food tonight, I should have just gotten Taco Bell instead. At least Taco Bell would have given me warmer food. The decor on the wall looked nice, though. Friendly and welcoming staff. So sad!

I had an amazing dining experience at Native Tongues! The tacos were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The drinks were top-notch, perfectly crafted and refreshing. On top of that, the service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and efficient. Whether you're craving Mexican food or looking for a great spot for drinks, this place is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back!

Fantastic, authentic and delicious! What a great beltline treasure! The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and professional, and the kitchen was immaculate! The salsa Verde is 10 out of 10!! Thanks a million! I just wish I tried this gem alot earlier!

I visited around midnight, and while the nighttime vibe was nice, the lighting was a bit too dim, making it tough to read the menu clearly. The tacos themselves were well-prepared and flavorful, with fillings that felt both authentic and satisfying. The sauces were especially memorable, adding just the right kick and perfectly complementing the tacos. The horchata was alright, though it could’ve been a bit richer to round out the experience. Overall, it’s a great spot for tacos, especially if you're looking for something after hours—just be ready for a low-lit ambiance that might make the menu a bit hard to read.
