"Hoi An and the Wider World Hoi An's strategic position at the heart of the Champa Kingdom made it one of the most important trading hub in the region for centuries. This legacy of dealings with the outside world can be witnessed vividly at the Hoi An Museum of Trading Ceramics, which showcases the town's time as a centre of trade in Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese ceramics."

The museum is small but very important for the Hoi An history. The ticket-buying option is not at the reception which can be a trick if you do not buy in advance. The ticket office is 2 Min away in a temple. Be aware to ask to not validate them of you are not planning to visit the temple.

This a very interesting 17th century house with original wood from the time which has been turned into a museum of ceramics and its presence in Vietnam. The place is small and you can see it in just some minutes.

Tickets for all old houses and museums can be bought at the corner house near the Japanese bridge. Very interesting history of ceramics in Hoi an. Plus in the back they produce really nice art pieces out of paper. Beautiful work and very nice people. Definitely worth a visit.

Behind the ceramic museum, there’s a hidden gem—a small production studio creating beautiful handmade paper goods. They make everything from cards and calendars to delicate cut jewelry, all crafted with incredible attention to detail. What makes this place even more special is their mission: they collaborate with disabled artisans, supporting a meaningful cause while producing stunning work. You probably wouldn’t stumble upon this spot without visiting the ceramic museum across from it, but it’s absolutely worth paying the entrance fee to discover this inspiring project. The people here are so kind, and their dedication to their craft is truly heartwarming. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates handmade art and wants to support a wonderful community!

I used one of my Hoi An Old Town tickets to visit this museum. It was very quiet and cool and had some interesting displays. The view of the street from the second floor was nice.

Ahhh the building is superb in itself. The columns and bases and ceilings and hardwood panels. Also, nobody here. I love ceramics and architecture and places with nobody here! My favourite of the 9 places we have seen so far.

Honestly there is little to nothing in this museum to see. It all comes from one ship wreckage and the items aren't even interesting and very few of them. The building itself is nice wooden old house, kinda neat - nothing more.
