"Museum Haus Konstruktiv is located in one of the finest industrial buildings, the former electrical substation Selnau. Haus Konstruktiv dedicates itself to constructivist, concrete, and conceptual art in Switzerland. This art form is characterized by the accomplishments of the Zurich concretists like Max Bill or Richard Paul Lohse from the 1930s to 1950s.The museum’s top floor offers two attractions: the unique metal structure from the 1940s, and an equally impressive library – with literature providing an overview of constructivist, concrete, and conceptual art. Here, art enthusiasts and academics find both an inspiring setting and the necessary tranquility for focused reading." - Plasmadesign Studio

"The artistic legacy of constructivism – including the works of Zürich’s Max Bill, Camille Graeser and others – found a home in the boxy Haus Konstruktiv, a former power plant and now a protected historical site. Since it was founded in 1986, the institution has promoted constructivist, concrete and conceptual art through both a permanent collection and temporary exhibitions."

My favourite museum in Zürich! I love the whole setting and all the installations on the different floors were amazing! Also has very nice staff and a cute little shop & café!

Everything is nicely arranged, but I don't see any art exhibits at all.

Quite an interesting space exposition plus Damien Ortega as a temporary exhibition. They give away a prize of 100k for creating a exposition worth 80k and 20k remains for the artist. Will return at the vernissage for this yearly happening. People usually confuse it with the bar at the other corner of the builduing, Kraftwerk. Museum has a small, but cozy coffee shop. Nice wardrobe and storage available for the winter season :)

Museum Haus Konstruktiv is a one of a kind museum in Zurich. They host permanent installations and rotating exhibitions which are always interesting, thought-provoking, and well curated. The gift shop offers a variety of high-quality items, while the cafe is the perfect place to have a coffee or something more savory after a long day of exploring art.

Costed 18 CHF. Step into a world where art and design intertwine seamlessly, sparking creativity at every turn. The museum unveils captivating pieces that not only showcase constructive brilliance but also invite you to reconsider your perspective on the world. Head up like 3-4 floors, and you'll find different exhibitors doing their thing. It's a trip that'll have you thinking about things in a whole new way.

This museum should be on every visitor's must-see list; the two permanent exhibits (the Franz Glarner Rockefeller dining room and the Marguerite Hersberger "Giving the Space Space" exhibit) are sublime, and will help you understand the importance of the constructivist-concrete art movement.

Impressive site and building. Exhibition was rather underwhelming to us, but to see the Rockefeller Dining Room alone was worth it. I have to discount on stars, as their ticketing policy of a family defined as must-have at least one child included is clearly not meeting my values. Ie, also a couple is a family. Not great at all.

If you like concrete art this place is for you! Exhibition after exhibition I always enjoy discovering new artists from all over the world. The place is presented on several levels, with an architecture which corresponds to it. A café is also present with a work of Claudia Comte as decoration. An artistic place not to be missed in Zurich.
