Quick and interesting time at the site museum. Need to present your passport at the reception before you can start your self guided museum tour. Complimentary with Machu Picchu tickets. We were instructed to not take any photographs. This museum has cool information on Machu Picchu’s discovery and introduction to the world in the early 1900s as well as plentiful information on historical context during its peak in the times of the Inca civilization.

Small museum revealing some interesting facts about the archaeological site. However, the exhibition is tiny and you should not even entertain the thought of paying 22 sol for entrance. Of course if you wait after 12 you can enter for free with your Machu Picchu ticket.

Well organized museum. It’s good to visit after visiting Machu Picchu. It takes around 1 hour to finish.

Great history of Incas, its a must too ser, IF go after 12:00 PM with macchu Picchu tickets its free tô visit, there is a botanic Garden by The side free too

Interesting museum, bigger than I thought. Worth a visit as it's included with the MP ticket. Guy on the entrance must have been having a bad, he wasn't very friendly and told me several times, "no photographs".

Bigger exhibit than it looks. Many interesting pieces - some with explanation in both English and Spanish.

Worth the visit! Includes entry into the little botanical gardens, cute little walk. We went through the museum before going to the ruins and it was very informative and gave great background before we got to see the actual ruins. Didn’t know it was included with the Machu Picchu ticket! Should’ve read these reviews first. You do need your passport for entry 20 soles per person if you don’t have your MP ticket.

Excellent museum providing a broad overview of the Machu Pichu site, its strategic significance and a detailed explanation of Inca engineering. Interesting archaeological finds and exhibits in a quiet air conditioned environment much welcome after the busy site itself. Visit after 12 and present your Machu Pichu entry ticket for free entry. Ask the bus to drop you off at the bridge. It’s a 20 min walk back to the town. Highly recommended.
