Murray's Cheese - Grand Central

Went in this morning for some blue cheese: counter man gave me tasting samples - he was polite, knowledge, patient while I tried to decide what sample I liked best and made my shopping experience a pleasure. Whenever I shop there all the people I deal with are friendly and seem to love cheese as I do. Everyone is consistently pleasant, helpful, polite and professional. Loyal and happy customer.

This place is a wonderful cheese shop! 🧀 Murray's Cheese in Grand Central Station 🚉 is a perfect pitspot 🚏 for cheese lovers! 😍 They have an endless selection of delicious 🤤 cheese, meat 🍖, pickles 🥒, and more! Definitely grab a small charcuterie board box 🍱 to try out a variety of cheeses. The staff 👨‍🍳 is friendly and helpful and the service is quick! ⏲️ I wish I came here more often!

I have bought many a kilo of cheese here. Service is inconsistent. Some staff are super kind and helpful, offering tastes, special packaging etc while others just wave you off to whichever cheese you enquire about. Just look out for the friendlier faces. They also need to up the QC a bit: today’s 3 year Comte was incredibly salty.

Murray’s Cheese has such a large variety of cheese, that there’s something for everyone! This is my go to spot to find new cheeses, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, especially when you want to find a new type of cheese to try!

Train snacks! Only I didn't actually have them on the train; thus, home snacks! High quality all around.

I am not one to write bad reviews but what a horrific experience. Had planned to stop at this Murray’s before a quick train journey to meet some friends and drive up to a cabin for a bachelorette weekend. I have been a professional cheesemonger so I wanted to stop by and get some stuff for a big board to make over the weekend. Grabbed a few cheeses and threw into a cooled bag about 20 mins later when I met my friends. Well the next day, I go to open the Camembert from the fridge and the plastic around the cheese inside the wooden casing was FULL of maggots! It was revolting. It seemed that part of the cheese was brown and rancid too. I tried to assess how bad it was but maggots kept falling out of the wrapper. I immediately tossed it. This was specifically a Murray’s brand Camembert. To top it off, the pre-packaged Murray’s cornichons had a few long hairs I fished out of the container. Just disgusting. I spent well over $100 here as I do know cheese well and wanted some specific items. I’m not sure what exactly is happening with quality control at this location, but selling maggot-infested Camembert and hairy cornichons was a massive disappointment. Murray’s has always been known for its quality and now I’m not so sure.

I'm helping my best friend organize her wedding and she wanted a tiered cake made entirely of cheese wheels, so off we went to Murrays. We were so warmly received by Francisco and tried a couple of things before settling on her three favorites. Fransisco was so kind and helpful, even in this busy terminal market and was happy to answer all of our questions. He went above and beyond and I can't wait to go back and place the order with him. An absolute pleasure!
