"Right inside the city limits, the dormant volcano Mount Tabor is one of Portland’s many natural treasures. The park in which it sits was designed in 1936 by Emanuel Tillman Mische, who, for most of his career, worked for the Olmsted Brothers, the leading landscape architects of the period. Today, the park’s winding paths are chockablock with bicyclists testing their mettle and hikers exploring the many trails and three reservoirs in search of fresh air and views of the surrounding valley. There are three main walking routes, and it’s also possible to drive to the summit and take a quick amble through the firs and pines."

Oh, how I love Mt. Tabor! There's something for everybody. Bike riding, kids play area, lovers stroll, dog park, huge staircase, 3 reserviors, picnic areas for parties, amphitheater, tennis courts, basketball courts, and hiking trails galore! On Wednesdays, the gates are closed to cars, but the park is still open. Great place to watch the sunset over downtown Portland or fireworks on the 4th of July. Restrooms by the kids play area and at the top of the stairs.

Big, bold, Beautiful, and expansive. My friends and me went here for a picnic. Wear a good pair of walking shoes to look at the reservoirs. Apparently, there's a summit, but we didn't make it that far to see if there were bathrooms and if they were open.

Very clean and great views highly recommend for a day trip or a quick hike, it's a very well rounded park with lots of trails picnic areas a playground and big fields. All the stairs are great for cardio too but the view at the top is worth it in my opinion 😋. Even though it's in the middle of Portland it's not very common to see anyone who looks sketchy, just people enjoying the park.

A Tranquil Escape at Mount Tabor Park Mount Tabor Park is a hidden gem in the heart of Portland, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and urban convenience. As someone who loves the outdoors, I’ve found this park to be an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. The park's trails are well-maintained and provide stunning views of the city skyline and Mount Hood in the distance. The winding paths through lush greenery make it a great spot for a peaceful walk, run, or bike ride. The park's reservoirs and open spaces are perfect for picnics or just relaxing with a book. The old volcanic cinder cone gives the park a unique geological interest, adding to its charm. Whether you're looking to explore nature, exercise, or simply unwind, Mount Tabor Park offers something for everyone. The serene environment, friendly locals, and well-kept amenities make it a must-visit for both residents and tourists alike.

Nice park to go when sunset around the lake. Restroom is more up to the hills, but it get dark with no light source over there. Mosquitoes everywhere 🥲but really nice view

Quite the hike to get there! If you drive up you will be greeted by twin reservoirs and a few great places to catch a sunset. We laid out a blanket and had a nice picnic looking over Portland. Plenty of hiking and biking paths.

We were visiting Portland on a mission trip. We had heard the parks were awesome. Mt Tabor Park did not disappoint. The trees, trails, and views were amazing. We took a lot of pictures. We did not have much time. Would have loved to do a lot more exploring. Very Beautiful!
