"This classic Richmond Heights ice cream stand is a must-visit during the summer. They have everything from slushies to frozen custard concretes and once you order, grab a spot at one of their picnic tables and debate with your group if it makes sense for you to all go in on a soft serve machine together. As a heads up, Mr. Wizard’s converts into a Christmas tree lot in the winter, so plan accordingly." - jen maylack

What a blast from the past! Including UNBELIEVABLE PRICES! Best I've found and the frozen custard is great! Chocolate and Vanilla and Twist, too. Generous servings. GREAT VARIETY! Something for everyone... Very nice staff too. Lots of outdoor tables covered with vinyl they switch out.

I was excited to try a new to me local custard shop. Typically I only go to Ted Drew's l, but I like supporting others. The service was super at the window and assistance with the menu was appreciated. There are no indoor tables, but picnic tables outside. The area had trash cans and was clean. Order was up quickly and my son and I were excited! I had Mr. Wizard and my son S'mores. My initial bite seemed good, but then soured. The taste just was not as good as hoped. I tossed mine a few bites in. My son had similar thoughts unfortunately and did not finish. It's hard to give a negative review to a local business, but I'm letting the product lead on this review. A 2.5 rounding down. I will stick with Ted Drew's in Saint Louis.

I haven't had a bad time at Mr. Wizard's yet & I've been going here for years. Staff is friendly, service is quick, custard is great. Free water with provided cups. The parking lot is very small. The ambiance of being on Big Bend is more often less than pleasant. Something to lower the traffic noise would make sitting on the patio much nicer.

Custard has my favorite texture of all of the custard places in the area. It's almost like marshmallows It's so soft. A bit sweeter than I like, but still good

Incredible custard/ concrete. Short lines friendly service. You can actually read the menu while in line and they have a crosswalk just for their shop so you won't get hit by a car. They also have plenty of tables to sit at to enjoy your treat. It's worth the extra 5 minute drive.

WOW! That’s all I can say. I had heard about the “custard” in Saint Louis, but I was wondering how good can this frozen treat be…. Mr. Wizard’s was one of the better frozen sweets I’ve had. They have custards, sundaes, and “concrete.” That last one is the same as their custard except the toppings are mixed into the middle of the custard. I imagine that’s how everyone wants it, anyways. I got the “S’mores” concrete with a vanilla base, but my friends got some of the chocolate base custards. With a consistency somewhere between froyo and ice cream, it was thick enough where you felt the consistency, but not so thick that you had the struggle to scoop or bite it. In terms of price, a “small” portion is fine for a nice small treat, but if there are two or more, I’d suggest a medium. It’s only a dollar or so more, but I’d say 3X as much custard. Definitely a value, but a large did not seem much bigger than a medium. Overall, such a delicious frozen treat with a great price in a cool setting.

My family and I come here all the time. If you like custard it is hard to beat them. The prices are amazing compared to other custard establishments. You can even order kiddie cones insanely cheap for the little ones. Definitely make this place a regular stop.
