Back in 2008 when the we all realised that the banks had been profiteering at our expense (still are!) my wife and I had to tighten our belts considerably! We decided that the big weekly supermarket shop had to stop. The butcher, greengrocer, cheesemonger, off license, bakery & fishmonger became regular stops for us as we knew we had to have quality food at a fair price. Moxons have been our only fishmonger since then. Oysters are always available (year round) and the fish is fresh. Really fresh. Occasionally a queue needs to be endured but it’s always worth it. Always.

Great local fish mongers. Friendly, informative staff and a great selection of wild and farmed fish. After choosing fish you may ask to have it prepared as you wish whole you watch and wait. Great place to learn a bit more about rate and wonderful species not commonly eaten the days.

Staff need training I manners and basic knowledge of fish migration patterns (what's in seasonable plentiful supply). If you want a quality at a good price go to the fishmonger in Nunhead.

Great selection. Bought a couple of lovely swordfish steaks which were delicious. Also some sea bream steaks which were amazing. Came back recently and bought some fresh halibut steaks. They were BEAUTIFUL.

We're gonna need a bigger boat! Such was the quantity & variety of fish on display here. I popped in to see if I could get a whole Sea Bass for the bbq. As you can see from the photo there is a wide range of choice here. They were quite busy so I wasn't able to enquire about the Sea Bass, but I'll definitely return, when they it's a little quieter. It all felt a little serious when I went in!!

I have been going to Moxon's Fishmongers for the last 10 yrs or so. My visits decreased and I started going again. I used to come out with an smile as the staff were so friendly there. Sadly, things have changed, some members of the staff don't seem to enjoy their job, specially the relatively new lady, and don't make you feel to welcome... Today I decided, I will go fishing somewhere else from now on :)
