Move Along Coffee

This place is everything people say it is. The guy who works there is super friendly and fun to talk with, the coffee is special, and the pastries are great. I haven't eaten my Korean BBQ Danish yet, but the donuts I got have me believing this is now the best donut in Chicago. Not since the original Do-Rite on Randolph & Dearborn closed and they became a chain has anyone been the best. Donut Vault was close, as were others, but Move Along is special. Sadly, I ate two donuts, but they're so rich, I should've eaten one. Take a bite, have a sip of coffee, repeat. The Korean BBQ Danish will be my lunch, but I'm going to need to put it in an air-tight container, because the smell is driving me nuts and I'm already full. I go by this place regularly, and there is always a line, so expect to wait to get served through the window.

Cute walk up window with solid coffee from gaslight and unique pastries on offer. Variety for drinks is fairly standard with some unique seasonal offerings. The quality was top notch in what we got. Staff were very friendly, especially for it being a slow and cold day. Definitely worth stopping in if you're nearby.

I hesitate to write this because I selfishly don’t want people to find out about this gem… but one of the BEST coffee shops in the city! The French onion pastry is incredible! As a heads up, there is usually a line on weekends and there are no seats / pick up only. Highly highly recommend!

There are some places that really make you (and help you) feel like home when your first home is miles and miles away. Move along is definitely one of those places, even without having a seating space, it really doesn’t need it: the coffee is strong, the pastries are magic and the service is so warm and welcoming you won’t miss a thing. Definitely one of the best spots in Chicago

Move Along feels like a little sanctuary for serious yet unpretentious coffee drinkers. The espresso was bold with a gentle finish earthy, clean, and thoughtfully extracted. The ambiance hums with soft conversations and reflective energy rather than background noise. I tried their cardamom latte next a silky blend where spice met cream with perfect harmony. Add in friendly service (that doesn’t hover) and cozy seating, and it becomes one of those rare places where you arrive rushed and leave actually refreshed.

Literally writing this from my car across the street after sipping our drinks and eating our pastries, it’s that good!! I got the maple latte which was technically not on the menu anymore but Ian was kind enough to still make for me. Incredible! The French onion croissant and pistachio orange donut were so unique and delicious. Not to mention the service is so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Move along is a refreshing coffee shop to have in the neighborhood. The owner takes the time to ask you how your day is going while he whips up some delicious coffee. True coffee enthusiasts will appreciate the flavorful espresso where you can actually taste the notes of the beans. It is rare to find a coffee shop where both the coffee is phenomenal and the owner heightens the experience because you can tell he enjoys what he does and interacting with each customer. Not often done in today’s world, but one of many things that keeps me coming back week after week (if not day after day).

Such a lovely spot. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it out today. I got the pumpkin late and it was prefect. Not too sweet and fresh flavors. The owner was there and was extremely kind and wonderful to talk to. I'll definitely be back!

Cute little shop with pretty good coffee. Barista was super friendly and made it a fun little trip. Guys ahead of me were talking with him for a bit so i assumed they knew the barista but while i waited for me drink he also just asked how my day was going and stuff. Coffee wasn't anything particularly standout but it was still good

Waited a little bit to check out this sweet coffee shop and was well worth the wait! My boyfriend and I had an iced latte with caramel and a pumpkin pie latte. The owner was so friendly and easy to talk to! We both throughly enjoyed our lattes, it was smooth and not overly sweet. I also loved my chocolate croissant. It does take a little time to get the coffee and treats since it's a one-man show, but the quality of service overall is worth visiting!

Such a cute little stop if you're walking in the area. The barista was the nicest guy ever and we had a great chat while he made my coffee. The campfire latte was a well made beverage but the taste of the syrup was a little too overpowering for me and I didn't particularly enjoy it. I know if I got something simpler the next time I'd really like it.

We discovered Move Along Coffee on a whim and I'm glad we did! The little walk up window can be hard to miss but we spotted their cool front mural while driving down Grand. The barista is such a kind soul and always makes conversation about your day and if youre somewhat indecisive like me, asks about your coffee preferences so he can tailor the drink to you. He's the only one working up front but never rushes his customers. He's also efficient and meticulous and the coffee always tastes superb. Theres baked goods from Defloured ( that Caramel brownie was divine) and local bakers. We lived the chocolate croissant! Highly recommend!

Great little walk up coffee shop. Perfect when out for a neighborhood walk. Delicious coffee and treats. The barista is always very friendly and will give your pup a treat as well. I definitely recommend stopping by!

I was walking along Grand and had passed by Move Along Coffee a few times before without looking too much into it. The display of sweet treats caught my attention - specifically their ube salted coconut crispy (or some variation of those words). I was under the impression that the business was closed (Sunday, shut window), but my attention lingered on those crispies long enough that the window slid open - open!! The staff was very friendly and conversational on the crispy + how the day has been going in general. Very mindful, very cozy. The crispy is delicious! Will definitely have to linger around more next time.

This charming walk-up coffee shop is located on Grand and Ogden. I came here after my yoga class while waiting for a friend. I ordered a 12 ounce chai latte and it was really good. I am usually picky about chai lattes and this one tasted great, not overpowered by spices and well balanced. I also appreciate that there was no extra charge for ordering it made with oat milk. The owner was super friendly and welcoming and provided great service. I also love the format of just being able to walk up, have your coffee made, and grab it to go. I will definitely be back anytime I'm in the area.

Cute walk up window in West town. I ordered a vanilla latte and an orange raspberry almond croissant. The latte was ok, but the croissant was amazing and very big! Wouldn't come back for a latte, but would come back for baked goods. Be aware that there may be a long wait, since it's only 1 person but he's very friendly. Great service!

10/10 spot to grab a coffee and go. Great cold brew and specialty/seasonal drinks. Beautiful pastries with a large selection of gf and vegan. Awesome service, very friendly. Love that it's a window and not a storefront, the ambiance is Grand Ave.

Stopped by here for the first time on my way to somewhere else. I got an iced hazelnut latte with oat milk. The coffee was actually super smooth and delicious, so I think I want to try it without the syrup next time. The prices are reasonable and alternative milks are included in the price. There was a small selection of enticing donuts and an almond croissant cookie that I'd like to try in the future. Also, I thought the ice cubes in the shape of an "M" were cool!

When I say I've been waiting for this place to open, I mean it. When a friend texted that it looked open in her walk home, I sprinted as best I could over with a sprained ankle. Move Along is a side walk take away spot. It's right next to a 65 bus line, which is highly convenient! The barista was super nice and friendly. It was late afternoon, so I got a chai apple cider, which was just delightful! The pastries all looked amazing from blueberry muffins to cinnamon rolls to handmade pop tarts. Website says they'll feature guest roasts, and I'm excited to try them out! I will definitely be back!

Visiting from Rhode Island and I needed coffee and move along was only a couple minutes away. I got the iced pumkin latte,lemon Ube donut & the banana walnut donut! The coffee was gone in 5 minutes it was so delicious and the donuts were such a good texture that I wanted to go again just to try another donut. The service was wonderful and he was so friendly we were talking the whole time he was making the order. Definitely coming back before I leave

Ian is so personable and friendly worker (owner?). He asks what you like to drink and then provides options in case you want to try something new. Also the coffee and drinks are great!

Huge fan of Move Along Coffee! Has become a staple of the neighborhood. The walk-up window is perfect for a great cup of coffee and a snack. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! Always nice to stop by and say hello. Will be stopping by soon!

I was in Chicago for a wedding , found this coffee near the AIRBNB we were staying. The coffee was 10/10 , I had the iced pumpkin spice latte. The guy behind the counter was not only super friendly but also gave us many suggestions of things to do while in the city. I recommend this place if you're ever in the area.

Stopped by Move Along for an early afternoon coffee and I got the Pumpkin Pie Latte, iced with oat milk. I had asked for a less sweet version and they were so accommodating and explained that they would decrease the amount of their fresh pumpkin purée to make it to my taste. It was just right and flavorful! Staff were super friendly and love the grab and go concept - will def be back to try more!

Amazing coffee place, put it on your list. Owner is super friendly which I didn't expect from a place called "move along" and with a grim reaper painted on the building. I've had the coffee and americano which were both so amazing to be the highlight of my day. Excited to see if the next guest roaster is even better!

By far the best coffee I've ever head. The service is wonderful and pleasant. Highly recommend!
