"At 300 meters, Mount Lycabettus is the highest peak in Athens. Every half an hour a funicular whizzes up to the summit. Among other attractions, there’s a restaurant with sky-high prices and views to match. On a clear day, you can see the island of Aegina shimmering on the horizon. The tiny chapel of St. George is a magical place to watch the sunrise (especially on Sundays, when the church service starts at 7:30 a.m.) or sunset."

It’s a little bit of a trek to get up to the top but once you do the views are priceless. The hike from the bottom was about 45 minutes with a few short breaks. It’s definitely doable but be sure to bring some water along if it’s a hot day to stay hydrated. There is a little cafe at the top to grab some drinks and snacks once you get there to refuel for the way down. It was a bit of a mission but was quite an experience to say the least.

Amazing Sunset here on top of the mountains, but the crowds there are too much can't really find a spot to take good photos, have to hike around 20-30min from the bottom , there is a restaurant OM the top as well

Such a beautiful place mount Lycabettus is with breathtaking views during the day or night. I noticed that a lot of people go there as it is so popular for both locals and tourists. There are plenty of parking spaces at no charge.

Loved it, as there were no crowds and I had a lovely view of Athens and Acropolis. It was also very windy. :))

Took the funicular up and walked down. Great scenic views and was not crowded when we went. Used google maps to walk there , pleased we did or would never have found it. Stunning small church on top. Nice bar to have a drink with views. Pricey . Enjoyed the walk down too .

An amazing feast to the eyes. Acropolis is in the distance, standing majestically. There is a funicular that only takes 5min or for those who like the ascending weaving walk (750m) , it could be enjoyable.

View is definitely amazing during sunset, I recommend taking funicular which costs around 12 euros both ways (up and down). It is a bit crowded in the evening, but it is worth to visit to see capital Athens from above.

A wonderful view of all of Athens. I recommend taking the cable car up and walking down. The path is very beautiful with another view of the Acropolis and Athens in general. Down the path there is a wine bar where you can stop. The best time to be at the lookout is at sunset. The cable car costs 9 euros for the ascent. Ascent and descent - 12 euros.
