Nestled on Sunset Blvd., Moon Juice is your go-to for cold-pressed juices and organic tonics in a stylish, plant-filled space that feels like a wellness sanctuary.
"COVID-19 Update: Open for pickup and delivery. Moon Juice is a New Age pharmacy—look no further than the fifty-pound jade crystal that’s affixed to the shop’s exterior on Alfred Street. There are tonics for every malady or desire (we love turmeric cup, with cayenne pepper, black pepper oil, and oil of oregano to help us through a cold). At the raw copper Alchemy Bar, one of the alchemists will happily help you customize the Vittoria coffee or gynostemma tea with a Moon Juice dust of your choice. The cabinet of cold-pressed goodness is almost too pretty to drink, but it’s delicious and effective. At the register, the snacks (dried chili and mango slices, activated maca mesquite walnuts) are absolutely addictive. "COVID-19 Update: Open for pickup and delivery. Situated in a storefront and marketplace on Silver Lake's bustling Sunset Blvd., Moon Juice kind of feels like a new-age pharmacy. There, you'll find tonics for every malady or desire (we swear the turmeric cup, with cayenne pepper, black pepper oil, and oil of oregano will kick any cold). All this cold-pressed goodness doesn't come cheap (the green shake will set you back $14), but it's all delicious and effective. The original shop is in Venice. "Insider has published a report on the work culture at LA-based Moon Juice, a wellness, juice, and beauty products company founded by Amanda Chantal Bacon. Bacon is the focus of the piece as the very embodiment of the company’s values and vision, someone who physically represents Moon Juice’s identity and brand but also comes off as “polarizing” to former employees. Though the early years were “magical,” according to former staffers, the company became increasingly focused on the way its employees projected the company’s values, whether it was, as the ex-employees say, requiring staff to wear all-white clothes while making juices at its retail stores or to consume the company’s juice and food products while on the job with a $12 daily budget." - Matthew Kang
