"Homemade Patties at Sonia's Despite the industrialized patty chain stores across Jamaica, the love for handmade patties continues in some parts of the island. Miss Sonia's entrée-size, crusty patties are served ata small roadside restaurant across from the beach in Negril. She offers traditionalfillings like beef or callaloo, as well asothers like lobster and conch that she introduced at the suggestion of her numerous return visitors to Jamaica . When you get your order, be sure to shakeon some ofthe secret spicy sauce—Miss Soniawon't tell you what's in it—and then dig in."

Chef Harry is amazing! We love the food and service here so much, we went back serval times! The patties were delicious, never had such wonderful patties before. Curry king fish was so good! Flavours are vibrant and fresh, generous portion sizes and chill atmosphere. We also got curry shrimp and it’s the best thing I’ve eaten in Jamaica!! His jerk sauce is the ultimate chef’s kiss! Must try!! 10/10 for food, service and vibes!

The best pattie I’ve ever had in my entire life. Not only are these delicious and made to order but there are so many options. If you are used to just the beef and curry chicken pattie options, be prepared for indecisions because there were over ten different varieties offered on the day I went. The first time I had the cake and salt fish. The second time I had the callaloo. But what’s incredible, is the size of these things. It truly is a whole handheld meal. The service was impeccable and Miss Sonia is still there along with her grandson Chef Harry who is running the restaurant now and providing impeccable service. Do yourself a favor and make it to Miss Sonia’s famous patties!

Great vibes from this cute little place, amazing owner, fantastic food. The owner is so passionate about patties, he said these are the best patties on the island and having been through like 5 different spots, I actually completely agree. Chicken and cheese Pattie was great but oddly enough the veggie one was probably the best Pattie I’ve ever had, period. He stuffs them up completely, isn’t stingy about it at all. And food is extremely well priced, basically local prices. Make sure you take cash though, no card. Each Pattie is about 800 JMD on average. Can’t recommend this place enough, already dreaming of the time I get back.

Shout out to chef Harry for his impeccable customer service and incredible food. My daughter and I visited recently and bumped into Harry along a walk. Next day we were able to enjoy some delicious patty’s freshly made to order just for us! Thank you so much keep up the amazing quality service.

Our visit to Miss Sonia’s was the best meal of our trip. We arrived early (long day) and had to wait a bit for the food but so worth it. My barbecued pork ribs were cooked perfectly, with the meat falling off the bone. The sauce was flavorful without being overwhelming, and the side (I would call it coleslaw? Salad?) had the most amazingly light yet dressing: perfectly refreshing. My wife had the vegetable curry and again, very flavorful, not overly hot, just right. Both meals were a good-sized portion with the coleslaw/salad, and red beans and rice. Compared to other places we ate, the meal was VERY reasonably priced. The total for our two meals and two beers was $29. They are cash only but accept both Jamaican and US dollars (not sure about other currencies). My wife and I are pretty good and experienced cooks, and after a really good meal, we like to figure out how we could recreate the dishes. Even with such”simple” dishes, we were stumped at how to make them so well!

The only place where I found ackee patties! The chef has his secret spicy sauce and it’s amazing. He also told us that these are his grandmother’s recipes which makes everything even more special. Good vegetarian options. Right food size portion as well.

I can’t remember the name of our server and chef but he was super friendly and told us “these are the best patties in Jamaica.” He wasn’t lying. We had Pattie’s three times during our trip and these were the best ones. They were fat and came with jerk sauce and “secret” sauce. The man was very friendly to us and we will come back here again someday!
