"Gifts Galore at Mio It all started with thebottle of organic argan oil that Antje d’Almeida, the owner of Mio, boughton a trip to Morocco. The silky, scent-free oil was too good not to share, so she opened a shop and started selling italongside an eclectic, continually evolving selection of housewares, uniquedesign pieces, funky and chunky jewelry, and original, affordable gifts from across the globe. A percentage of the profits goes back into community projects, so your money is doing good too."

It's a good shop for art and design, especially if you're after work from local artists who do not have a studio open to the public. Tip: Unless you have run out of time, don't buy Clet Abraham art work here, like badges and stickers. Instead head to Clet's studio across the river and purchase the same items for a fraction of the price!

Wonderful, wonderful store filled by variety of cool and unusual things (jewelry, prints, lamps, keychains - you name it), made by local artists, for all budgets. Such a welcome change from all the run-of-the mill souvenir shops in the heavily touristed center of Florence! Highly recommend!

My family and I stopped by this boutique art and craft shop and absolutely loved all of the small and packable trinkets and souvenirs we could find that had a truly local Florentine vibe. Most sourvenir shops sell miniature David's and things that all reference Florence by name. This shop sells items that are the soul of Florence. We ended up buying much more than we thought as the items "spoke to us". It's worth a few minutes of your time if your in the area.
