Yelp
I came across this brand new Bubble Tea joint in Southpark, so decided to give it a shot...
More than anything, I loved the space...with some cute branding/decor. There was alot of room for folks to wait around (if need be) or hang out, without feeling too overcrowded. Given the current pandemic, they had a sign outside, which smartly asked for only 2 patrons at a time to come inside to order...and as expected, every staff member had on masks. BTW, they said this was a locally owned joint...a one-off (not a chain), so I really wanted to love the place.
Seemed their specialty was the blending of Milk Teas w/ Fruit...so I decided to try their Strawberry Matcha Latte, with Boba! I must admit that it was quite expensive... a small sized cup was nearly 7 bucks. Not sure if all the drinks were pricey, or if I happened to choose a pricier drink...possibly due to the addition of fruits?
Well, it was a pretty good, refreshing drink...a much healthier version of Bubble Tea, I guess? I can't say that it was all-out delicious as Kung Fu or Sharetea...but definitely lighter, healthier. Their normal sweetness level, for one, was 50% of Kung Fu Teas. Honestly, I thought my drink could have been a bit sweeter, and used a bit more Strawberry. The Matcha/Milk/Strawberry ratio seemed a bit off, but that's just me. Guess I was expecting an even tri-level split...as shown in their posters. My drink was most heavily Matcha. So yeah, I thought the mixology was a bit off.
Still, I thought this was a great, new addition to the Southpark area... greatly lacking in Bubble Teas lol. Also, I know many folks are probably seeking a healthier Bubble Tea alternative, so this place may fill that void. In fact, I need to change my Bubble Tea habit...less sweet, less calories!!
Again, a welcome addition...and I'm sure I'll return in the future, and maybe try something different.
