Micheltorena Stairs

Nicely looking steps in the cool neighborhood. There is a new development by the stairs on Sunset Blvd. Once you climb on top of the hill there are only houses and nothing else. So it's basically enough to stop by the stairs on Sunset Blvd to take a pic, don't spend time to climb them.

I was looking for things to do in LA and came across the stairs and thought the art work was nice. So I went on Sunday 12/12 and I loved. I like the mural the most and couldn't find the rest of the Ural around that area. The stairs are high up and I didn't climb all the way.

It was a Sunday afternoon and we got really lucky with parking, 3400 Sunset Blvd I could see where finding parking may be an issue at certain times of the day. The stairs were not crowded with people at all and there was only one person at the bottom of the stairs taking pictures. We walked up to the top, where you get a narrow but pretty cool view of the stairway you just climbed. The neighborhood reviews say this is a safe place to walk, there were a couple of guys towards the top that almost made it uncomfortable to pass, we continued to the top, which ends at Micheltorena Street. I’d guess it was a couple hundred stairs, I forgot to count and it took no more than 20 minutes up and down.

Cool spot to checkout if you are near the area. I could be wrong but I think some of the stair painting(s) were removed. Was not busy when we went a week ago (only saw a couple there and they were leaving as we showed up). The piano stairs are across the street... as you come down the heart stairs, walk across the street (at the light), turn right walking down the sidewalk approx. 0.3 miles (+/-) and the piano stairs are on your left. **Don't blink because you will walk right pass the stairs since they are not right off the sidewalk (a little pushed back).

These stairs are real butt buster but I love it! I try to do them 3 to 4 times a week and you can look at all of the beautiful paintings that they've done to each step. I highly recommend going out and getting your health on here and Silver Lake!

Nice hike and views. Doing it a couple times up and back is a great workout. Walk in the neighborhood as, it's really nice.

I'm glad I found this while looking for things to do in LA. The art work looked nice. Stairs go way up.

May not have the history or views of some of the other staircases in the city, but it certainly has a charm of its own. The art on the steps is great! Fun thing to do, great both for exercise and just to experience the city a bit.
