Chèvre Design District - Review - Design District - Miami - The Infatuation

"There are two stages of buying a sandwich at Chèvre. The first is disbelief that you’ve just paid $21 to $32 for a pretty small sandwich. The second is reluctant acceptance, because the sandwiches are very good. Chèvre started as a fancy cheese shop on Coral Way before expanding its offerings to sandwiches and opening a new location inside this Design District food hall, which is more casual and sterile than a $30 sandwich demands. The imported meats and cheeses are the reasons for the steep prices, but you can taste the quality in stuff like the fancy french butter used in The Frenchman, their version of a jambon beurre. Still, if you firmly believe there is no earthly circumstance in which a grilled cheese sandwich should cost $25, this isn’t the place for you." - Ryan Pfeffer

"Miami's Design District, in my opinion, has the best public art installations of any city in the country. There's "Conscious Actions" by GT2P (essentially a teal swing set), Virgil Abloh's "Dollar a Gallon," and Daniel Toole's “Jade Alley," just to name a few. Here's an official list—take an afternoon, grab an iced coffee, head over to Paseo Ponti, and wander around." -Elise Taylor"

We wouldn't have come here at all (and especially not with the kids) had it not been for a $150 credit. This was the most confusing fancy Japanese restaurant I've been to. My wife enjoyed the ohmine and temaki; I enjoyed the miso soup, furikake fries, shishito peppers, tokyo sour, and the churros. The kids found the miso to be too salty (they normally have no problem with Miso wherever we go, except in Hawaii where, when it is too salty they just add some hot water and eat it anyway), and none of them would eat the furikake french fries, probably for the same reason, even after we tried shaking off the furikake seasoning, but a couple of them enjoyed the churros. This is not a place I would return with my kids, just because there was nothing but churros for them. It was not specifically unfriendly toward kids, except that we could not get items removed from the temaki (two of the kids might have been happy with rice, seaweed, and smoked salmon), but asking for anything other than capers to be removed resulted with "we can't do that." Even the simple request not to have carrots in the miso soup for the kids couldn't be honored (not a big deal, but really? Those are clearly added later.) I am under the impression that either the kitchen has robots working there or our server was unable/unwilling to communicate with the kitchen staff (or vice-versa) except via the pre-programmed items in his app. Perhaps because they are so busy they don't need to do any special requests. I get the whole "no substitution" thing but "we can't stop the chef from adding the last thing to your dish as it is being prepared" is a bit excessive. We took the kids to Taco Bell after this so they could order what they wanted, how they wanted it, and everyone was happy by the end of lunch. If there were a special occasion (birthday, etc.) I would consider bringing my wife back here because she enjoyed it, even without the credit card benefit.

Miami Design District is one of the most impressive and beautifully curated areas in the city. From the moment you arrive, you’re surrounded by striking architecture, public art installations, and an atmosphere that feels both upscale and welcoming. The mix of luxury boutiques, contemporary galleries, and thoughtfully designed spaces makes it a pleasure to explore, even if you’re just walking around without shopping. The dining options are excellent, offering everything from casual bites to high-end restaurants, all with great ambiance and service. What really sets the Design District apart is how clean, organized, and visually inspiring it feels—every detail seems intentional. It’s a perfect place to spend a few hours enjoying art, fashion, food, and the overall vibe. Truly a must-see destination in Miami.

Miami Design District is such a cool place to walk around. The whole area feels modern and creative, with designer stores, unique art pieces, and some really good restaurants and cafés. Even if you’re not planning to buy anything, it’s fun just to explore, take pictures, and enjoy the atmosphere. Everything looks clean and stylish, and there’s always something going on music, people hanging out, or new art installations. It’s one of those spots that makes you feel the real modern side of Miami.

I'll be honest. In my opinion high fashion is a self-indulgence I will never afford. Still, it's fun to look at. Which makes a casual stroll around the Miami Design district an interesting place to walk around. Plus, there's a sculpture garden two blocks away (not suitable for young children, nor immature adults) that makes this destination worth a visit. And, of course, if you've got some unwanted 1000 bills hanging around, there's no matter place to spend them, lol.

Miami Design District has art infused in everything. From the architecture to the restaurants, it is a must see if you are visiting Miami. If you love luxury you will have the top brands available to shop from. If you love food, you will have some of the best restaurants in the city, with some of them being recognized as Michelin starred. Creativity is displayed from the parking garage to the side walk.

Perfect spot to feel rich for a few hours. Big brands everywhere. Activities include walking, shopping, and checking your bank balance before buying anything.

The Miami Design District is absolutely stunning — a place where art, fashion, and architecture come together in the most inspiring way. It’s not just a shopping destination, it’s a full-on visual experience. Every corner is beautifully designed, making it the perfect spot for breathtaking photos and unforgettable moments. What I love most is the way the district showcases some of the most iconic fashion brands in the world — names that have shaped the history of style and continue to influence culture globally. Walking through the area feels like strolling through a living gallery, with incredible art installations, elegant storefronts, and creative design everywhere you look. It’s modern, stylish, and full of life. Whether you’re a fashion lover, an art enthusiast, or simply someone looking to explore a unique part of Miami, the Design District will leave you impressed. I truly loved my visit and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the sophisticated and creative side of the city.

Never known that design district would be this busy and wonderful. We visited some of the popular brands and outlets. This area feels like a rich vibe with all the fashion outlets and beautiful designs over the streets.
