"The Feira da Ladra, which literally translates into “Thieve’s Market”, takes place every Tuesday and Saturday, from dawn to dusk. Despite its name, this flea market is popular for its views of the Panteão Nacional and its friendly atmosphere where people sell all sorts of second-hand clothes, antiques, furniture, books, vinyl records, old cameras, tiles and so on. Take your time to browse and you’ll eventually find a bargain." - v-a

"Thieves' Market Perched on a steep hill in the lovely neighborhood of Alfama, you will in no doubt leave with a great souvenir or gift. Sellers throw down blankets or rugs in rows and sell a variety of hand-made goods, antiques, books, clothes, military objects, etc. I took home two wonderful brass bottle openers and a couple of old world maps. Getting to the market is easy and the trip there is quite beautiful; take the Tram 28, or Tram 12 up the hill through the tight, and narrow neighborhood streets ( becos ). After you've spent all of your Euro, take a short walk over to the Santa Engracia Church, Museum of Decorative Arts, or the National Pantheon. Oh, and don't forget to take in the views and snap a few pictures."

I recently visited an antique market, and it was an absolutely incredible experience! Walking through the aisles filled with vintage treasures, I felt like I was stepping back in time. The variety of items was astonishing – from elegant furniture and rare books to old coins, watches, and delicate porcelain. Every piece seemed to have its own story to tell. One of the best parts of the market was the atmosphere – a mix of history, nostalgia, and excitement. You never know what hidden gem you might find! I was especially fascinated by old paintings and vintage jewelry, each with a unique charm. If you love history and enjoy discovering rare, one-of-a-kind pieces, this is definitely the place to visit. Whether you’re a collector or just looking for something special, the antique market offers an unforgettable journey through time!

Great market - lots of stalls. We went at 1:30pm and shopped around. Got bracelets, bags and sunglasses! Walked up the hill and had an ice cream at the top! Would really recommend making your way up - lovely part of market at the top.

Basically a market selling vintage or used goods. If you are not a collector of any particular kind you are most likely leaving empty handedly like us. The whole market took us less than 30 minutes to browse through.

A good place to visit on two days of the week. We always visit on Saturdays. Lots of stall and can spend hours browsing antique/ vintage stuff here. Even clothes here ate good. The art market is a must to visit and browse.

Unfortunately, we didn't see the flea market because it wasn't there. The indoor craft market sells a wide variety of clothes, purses, sunglasses and the like. It's about a 10-20 minute programme.

Yelp
With nothing on our agenda for the weekend, we heard about this "flea market" online and decided to check it out. I did a bit of online research about it, and saw several pictures posted. The pics were nothing really exciting; however, it was a gorgeous Saturday in December, so we thought we'd check it out to kill time. We caught public transportation from Praça do Restauradores, which zoomed us over to the Apolonia train station and a short walk to the market. Little did that Mercado de Santa Clara was gonna be HUGE, and apparently THE thing to do on a spectacular Saturday morning!!! The pics I saw online did absolutely no justice to what we had in-store for us! The place was overflowing with what seemed like hundreds of vendors, all hawking bric-a-brac and doo-dads and even "crap"! It was definitely a "flea market," indeed!!! It was truly fun to see all the stuff folks were trying to sell and make money off of. Lots of interesting stuff; lots of uninteresting stuff. Exactly what one would expect from a flea market! We even splurged on several ponchos and blankets that were too cool to pass-up!! :D We easily spent a good hour and a-half roaming through the "aisles." Shoppers were there in-force! And, too, being right next to several outdoor cafés made it easy to refuel and people-watch! (The indoor part of the market wasn't nearly as fun; but, still worth checking out.) The market is on Saturdays and Tuesdays, so I'm thinking I might pop back there on Tuesday, as I had my eye on something that I'm crossing my fingers will still be there...! We both cannot recommend the Mercado de Santa Clara enough...!!! :D

Yelp
A cute market to peruse around on a Saturday. Some very cool vintage finds await you!

Yelp
Super cool flea market! Most of it is second hand home items and clothing. Prices are reasonable, and there are lots of sellers out. If it rains, many will pack up, and even leave early if more rain is expected, so come early if necessary.
