Discover the adventure-filled Mayflower Bocawina National Park in Belize, where lush trails lead to breathtaking waterfalls and exhilarating zip-lining.
"Tucked down a long and bumpy dirt road on the way to Hopkins, Mayflower Bocawina National Park is a well-maintained nature escape offering a variety of adventures, from the casual to the extreme. Decide how brave you feel and choose from the options: hiking and birding along moderate trails to waterfalls; a two-hour, steep, adrenaline-pumping hike, with the occasional rope to climb, to the breathtaking 1,000-foot-highAntelope Falls; zip-lining across the park day or night; or rappelling 150 feet down a couple of waterfalls. Fill up afterward at the on-site restaurant before hitting the road, or book anovernight stay at the park’s cozy cabanas."
This national park is a true hidden gem. It offers multiple options for hiking with many gorgeous waterfall choices. We did the loop to Mayan ruins, then a hike to Ramon falls and then finished with a hike to Antelope falls as the grand finale. The entire trip took about 6 hours and we took our time to enjoy the swimming pools and the views. The best part of all day, as many hikers will appreciate, is that we passed only 2 other people the whole day(!), which would be unheard of in many national parks around the world. This place truly allows you to soak in the nature and have it all to yourself. The guide was not required which was also a plus. Definitely recommend this park 1000%. Also many people comment on how steep/challenging the last part of Antelope falls is - it’s honestly not that bad and the reward of jumping in the pool at the top is worth the effort.

We did the extreme Antelope package and it was great! A tough but very rewarding hike, followed by a swimming hole, a rappel down a waterfall, then ended the afternoon with a super fun zip line! If you are in Belize definitely give it a go!

This place was one of our highlights, but I will say the hikes were not easy to find. Look through my photos to see a a basic idea of loop hike. The times on there seems somewhat accurate.
We are experienced hikers and the full loop was solid, took us ~5hrs around 7 miles. Some of the water falls are a serious hike, ropes needed, and the trails were flooded / re marked but all of that made it more of an adventure. We also quite a few different animals, couldn't get a photo of them all.

Definitely recommend this park and especially Antelope Falls. It's a challenging hike but the payoff is amazing. The waterfall pool is amazing.

A little hard to get to as the roads are filled with pot holes. However once you arrive it is like stepping into a whole other world. My family did the 1 hour ramon water fall hike, which was a complete immersion into the rainforest. Followed by the 45 minute Antelope falls hike, which was more traveled on, but included a fantastic rope clime and rock scramble to reach the top of the falls and swim in a 16 foot deep pool. Don’t forget your bug spray and the 5$ per person entrance fee!!!

Antelope falls is the best - great views, a big deep pool and lots of other pools, com and refreshing, the little fish weren't too aggressive, not too bad a climb; Ramon falls was nice, little fish hungry and aggressive. Tiny bites, but annoying- need to keep swimming so they cannot gather around you. Or get someone else to sit still. Very pretty falls!

We did the Antelope Falls hike with a guide and loved it! The hike was quite rigorous, but well worth it. We loved going a swim at the pool atop the falls. Absolutely beautiful

Great place for hiking and birdwatching. I recommend wearing proper shoes and comfortable clothing for the hike and enough water to drink! Definitely one of my favorite places in the country!
