Off the charts design showroom by designer Erin Miller is a showstopper! I walked into the showroom today to find, to my utter amazement, a full T-Rex skeleton on display, right here in downtown Napa! I was beyond befuddled walking into this display. And beyond this obvious distraction, I was pleasantly surprised by the easy going and welcoming nature of Whitney whom was tending the showroom with her adorable companion Charlie. Whitney was so well versed in the history of Roosevelt the T-Rex and of her shops curator I couldn't help but be engaged. I plan to keep up with the projects to come from this engaging establishment and will look forward to future visits.

It's true that the Chicago Field Museum has Sue (and plans to make room for a Titanosaurus), but Roosevelt the T. Rex is the most vintage thing in the Napa Valley. It's a stunning display. One gets a feel for the T. Rex's immensity up close. The curator of the shop was very friendly&educational. While the Martin Showroom varies in its retail (mug shot throw pillows of Jane Fonda&Kurt Cobain, old neon, rooster taxidermy, Helmut Newton coffee table books), the T. Rex is the most impressive&priceless.

My FAVE store in Downtown St. Helena. The furniture, the jewelry and the books. You never know what you are gonna find, but someone has found it for you! Always a MUST STOP in! The Staff is always so nice too! Thank you for existing!

Well, I can't actually review the inside, i never made it in. Mountain Living magazine recommended this designer along with a bunch in SF...and with the day off I decided to head up to St. Helena. I was hoping to speak with someone about their interior decorating services, for a new house being built. I called them around noon to see if they would be open and the man who answered said sure we are open till 6. Great I thought. We made the trip from Marin to St. Helena and got there at 1:45 to a sign that said they would be back at 2:30 ish for lunch. So, we waited, we drove this whole way. 2:30 came...2:35 came, I guess I am missing the concept of "ish"...and finally at three, after peeking in and not actually seeing anything we liked, we left. What a freaking waste. If this is any indication of how they treat people's time and perhaps money, I will consider it a good sign that they were closed.

M stands for magnificent, as in magnificent art, furnishings, and designs in this stunning space on St. Helena's main drag. Erin Martin is apparently the designer and/or proprieter, and I've not seen such an eclectic and visually arresting collection of goods in a long time. My wallet leaped out of my back pocket and ran back to the car, mind you, but my eyes, fingertips and nose were aggressively leading me through the store. Definitely check it out next time you come through.

even after spending a very long time looking around this store i really can't explain to you what i saw. this gallery is amazing and weird all at the same time. you just really need to stop in and look around the next time your in town. right as i walked into this place i was in love with a huge leather chair. it just looked so comfy and begged for me to lay in it. once i did i was here for what seemed like an hour. it was the most comfortable chair i have ever seen but way out of my price range. actually i don't know many people who can even afford to own that chair. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ce_bpCUuROuewS2wgRxbWg?select=E3SWEshUJb20Bh29WkCBtg

It's the secret love-child of Morris Lapidus and Wilma Flintstone. It's one of those rare spaces that's exciting to explore, even if everything they sell is far too huge for my San Francisco flat It's a place where rust is king, wood and rope are as precious as silver, and found objects seduce modern art. It's part warehouse, part winery, part steam-punk, part junkyard, part art gallery. Check it out. There aren't many retail experiences that are this uplifting.

Ms. Erin Martin you rock. Your store rocks. And your staff rock. We heart you and your whole get down. Fav's in the store this trip: LGBT Dia De Los Muertos Couples = A Mazing; staggered tree/steel sculpture = yes please; 45 year old air plant = in bloom now that it is misted vs. dipped. Prrrrrrrr.

I seriously want everything here. If I ever win the lottery, I will buy most of this store and decorate my amazingly chic home with it. Huge maps, peace sign pillows, intricate and beautiful jewelry over rice, a ceramic egg carton, lush couches perfect for drunky slumber parties, and PERFECTION.

I loved this place when I first went a while back but what stumps me is the fact that they are not open on major long weekends. Both the Fourth of July and upcoming Labor Day saw and certainly will see large crowds in the area but alas M was not and will not be open Sunday or Monday. While I hold out hope that one weekend it may change it is dissapointing to see that they do not recognize what could be the reward from a popular weekend.

This company does not recycle. That's a deal-breaker for me. As a policy, they throw out large amounts of paper and cardboard. No matter how much I might like the other aspects of a company, I find it extremely difficult to support a company that displays that kind of laziness and irresponsibility.

This store is absolutely amazing. As an architect/interior designer, I love the eccentric and very unique pieces they have here. Tree trunks with steel interventions, a pair of pewter crocodile lamps, giant wood sculptures. this decorating showroom by far outstrips anything in san francisco if you're looking for something truly hip and unique. the prices are quite high though. i visit this place everytime i travel through napa valley.
