We had a great experience at Markus- I’ve been looking to go there for a while now and happy to be not disappointed.
As a party of 2, for starters we ordered:
smoked beef cheek, beef ribeye and pave potatoes, and temping zucchini flowers. All were very tasty and decent sizes.
We shared lamb ribs which we’re cooking to perfection and very tasty. If anything, I’d say there were too many pineapples.
For dessert we shared a pistachio crumble which again was a delight.
I’m very happy that this restaurant balances flavour and decent portion sizes!
We had cocktails before dinner, which also were very nice.
The service is attentive and very knowledgeable.
The atmosphere is charming and certainly adds to the experience.
I have no doubt I’ll go back!

I recently dined at Markus Restaurant with my friends, and it was a disaster from start to finish. The staff was not only inattentive but also took forever to bring us any of our orders, leaving us feeling completely ignored.
While the menu looked promising, the food was a massive letdown. We ordered several dishes, both appetizers and main courses, and each one was a disappointment (with the exception of the short ribs).
To make matters worse, our food took an excessively long time to arrive. When we finally approached the manager about the delay, he had the nerve to assume we weren’t in a hurry. This level of dismissiveness is unacceptable. After waiting for 2 hours for our main courses to arrive, food was cold and stale.
Overall, we left feeling frustrated and completely dissatisfied. I had high hopes based on previous reviews, but after this experience, I won’t be returning anytime soon. They seriously need to reevaluate their service and food quality if they want to keep customers.

Very very small portions, you need to have at least 3/4 plates in order to be full and with wine at least 150$ per person. Restaurant atmosphere is also not good, it is in the middle of car mechanics center. In general not worth the money.

Excellent food - the beef ribs are great, as you’d hope. It’s fairly expensive but the quality is good enough to support that. The cocktails and beer selection are also decent. I recommend ribs per person and perhaps to share a portion of poutine as the ribs aren’t huge.

I loved the place. This place used to be a bodyshop, located in an industrial zone, changed in to a very nicely decorated restaurant. Ceiling is very high, it has two levels. It has a post modern architecture, everything is fine quality. Food is very delicious, i tried ribs, ribs burger, poutine and fries. I couldn't get enough. Overall, i would definitely recommend this place. One of my fav now.

Markus recently opened in Maslak. Its a very hip restaurant that has a hybrid interior decoration where industrial meets decorative. It has 2 floors so even if the space is not very big, the high ceilings make it very spacious. Food wise all of the ribs were very good. The portions are just right since its a heavy meal. They have great potato based side dishes that are cooked with the oil of the meat which makes them taste delicious. There isn’t a wide range of options on the menu. There are 3 types of ribs and 2 types of hamburgers. In terms of side dishes there are a few salad options and the potatoes. They only serve beer and wine with the food. So they don’t have a variety of options when it comes to food, side dishes and drinks but everything that they offer is good. They also have a lemon tart for desert which was amazing, the lemon curd was really well made. Their filter coffee is also pretty good. They have live music on fridays that was playing jazz when we were there, which added a nice touch to the experience. We were sitting at the group table which was too wide if you want to talk to the person sitting across from you, you cant really do that. So I would recommend going here with a smaller group to be able to sit at one of the side tables and make reservations ahead of time for the weekend.

It's a bit out of the way, in terms of location.
But probably worth a taxi trip, as the food is tasty.
We pretty much ordered everything on the menu and everyone was pleased.
Ribs take a while to cook (we were 11 people), however it didn't disappoint at all!
My only suggestion is to have a few more salad / side dishes options, as everything is mostly meat and that's it.
