"Bayreuth’s majestic Margravial Opera House, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2012, is one of Germany’s finest examples of Baroque court-theater architecture. Commissioned in the 18th century by Margravine Wilhelmine of Brandenburg-Bayreuth—daughter of the Prussian king and sister of Frederick the Great, and a talented musician in her own right—the theater was designed by renowned Italian architect Giuseppe Galli Bibiena, who modeled it after the opera houses of Vienna and Dresden. Today, it’s the only existing venue where opera fans can enjoy an authentic Baroque experience, complete with the original wood and canvas materials in the auditorium. Other highlights include a large stage portal framed by columns, detailed sculptures in the loge, and impressive 3-D paintings created as backdrops."

Beautiful! Beautiful and again Beautiful place! Very affordable, interesting exposition about history of the theater. Really worth visiting. There is WC (you don't have to buy ticket for that). Note, that you can't go with your backpack and it has to be stored so keep 1 euro coin to lock the locker

Amazing. Really stunning interior. I recommend going when there is a guided tour (3 euro extra per person)

Just accounting for the inside, this place is hands down the most beautiful in the world! Built in the late baroque era, it features a lot of detail and the atmosphere inside is mesmerizing! They now also have an attached museum that has a few interactive parts to it! :) This is a must-see and I purposely did not provide any picture of it as pictures could not do any justice to this amazing place!

one of the unique baroque opers in the world that kept its original form. from the 18th century completely of wood and a stone ground. it will takes you to the world of 18th century. it is the first part of the Museum round. you can pay additional fees to get the chance to sit in the top chairs with a guide. impressive interior.

The theater was beautiful but the museum upstairs was so modern and honestly an eye sore. I'm not sure why for such an old building they decided to make a modern museum

What can I say... Amazing. A well-preserved opera house that will knock you out when you see it by yourselves. When you enter the building, it starts to feel like you traveled back in time. All decorations, each detail, are astonishing. I couldn't believe what I witnessed. They once in a year,in September, if I'm not mistaken, carry out the concerts in baroque style with appropriate costumes on. Imagine the atmosphere, well-dressed people, in an original opera house, fully decorated with baroque elements, you start to feel like a royalty, lol. Even though the tickets to the concert are hella expensive, you still can just buy an entrance ticket for 8 euro and enjoy the hall. It's worth every penny. Don't forget ,there's also a second floor with a modern exhibition and some interactive stuff. You'll be amazed by it.
