You think it's just a burrito but it's much more (it just tastes really good, there's not like drugs or anything.)

Google
What a cool place! The writing is on the wall (literally!) that a stop here means a great burrito. They're well priced, well portioned, delicious, and the salsa is just right without being too spicy (my partner disagrees with me on the heat level but I thought it was reasonably mild and very flavorful) Small but perfect menu, friendly staff, lots of seating, dog-friendly, and definitely worth checking out. I've got 1/2 a burrito for a snack on the road because they're super generously sized, and the homemade tortillas are killer. (Didn't grab any pics of the food because we were starving but the walls here are awesome!)

Google
Game changing burritos. The tortilla shell is pillowy, fragrant, blistered gorgeousness. The Gordo isn't a huge meal but makes sense for breakfast. The lunch ones are huge. Service extremely quick. Atmosphere utterly unique, in the former home of the owner.

Google
Y’all, the breakfast burritos were heaven sent. We stopped here on recommendation and were not disappointed. The amount of food we received for the value is astonishing. Would love to be back soon.

Jordan Bennett

Google
Burritos and people there are incredible. Great spot to visit and chow down

Dan Gilkison

Google
Good substantial breakfast burritos with fresh tortillas. Indoor and outdoor seating. Looks like lots of familiar folks have been through, from Anthony Bourdain (RIP) to Matthew McConaughey. You can write on the walls to commemorate your trip to Marfa. In conclusion, it's alright, alright, alright.

Google
Great Home Style Breakfast Burritos!! If you appreciate a NON COMMERCIAL family-style restaurant, this might be your place for a Mexican style burrito. The burritos are BIG-- with a homemade tortilla. I had an Egg, Potato and Cheese (Papas con Queso) burrito. It was pretty good. They also have Huevos con Chorizo, Beans with Egg, etc. The walls of the restaurant are covered with innumerable photos of Selena, famous visitors, common visitors, and a million signatures of happy customers that have come through this little hidden gem! You really can't go wrong here. This place is a Marfa Classic restaurant that is TIME TESTED!! :-)

Google
This cozy little house turned burrito casa is a local staple. A simple cash only family owned restaurant that delivers original Marfa flavor. It gets packed during peak hours. The food can't be beat. Service is great. A place for one and all to enjoy authentic and delicious food.

Gavin Walsh

Google
I was driving through the area for work and grabbed a couple of burritos. My breakfast one was delicious. Later, I ate my beef and potato one with the green salsa that was just spicy enough and complimented the burrito nicely. Definitely recommend stopping by if you are nearby!

Yelp
This is a must-stop whenever we're in Marfa. I honestly don't think you'll find a better burrito. It's everything you want a burrito to be and then some. Well-seasoned meats and veg, fresh ingredients, homemade tortillas. It's the whole shebang!

Lauren M.

Yelp
BIG BURRITOS HERE, and they are good too! Order at the counter and then enjoy at one of the many outdoor tables in either the front or back of the restaurant. We got the Primo (yum!) and it was big enough to share with another person. The Primo had some kick due to the jalapeños but the ingredients were flavorful. Celebrities like Matthew McConahey, Kevin Bacon and Anthony Bourdain have stopped in.

Ed D.

Yelp
Excellent chorizo, egg and cheese breakfast burrito. Large and flavorful, served hot and wrapped in real, hand-made tortillas. This is a REAL breakfast burrito, and probably one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had! Service was a walk-up window, but it was very quick and very friendly. No attitude here other than an attitude of wanting us to have a great breakfast. Incredible hole-in-the-wall ambiance. This place reminds me of a place that used to exist in Marfa that had fabulous Mexican food called "Old Burunda Cafe". It's closed now, but at the time it was the best Mexican food for 100 miles.

Ignacio S.

Yelp
An authentic non-hipster taqueria. All burritos are $10 and the line moves fast. There's plenty of outdoor seating for those perfect Sunny Far West Texas days. Support your local taqueria!

Bizzy C.

Yelp
Super famous, super fast, super straight to the point (which is how I like my burritos!) If you come here you'd better come HUNGRY and with a tolerance for some spiiiice. You can tell they put a lot of love into their food because the tortillas were super fresh, like, seriously amazing. You can definitely tell the difference between a homemade tortilla and a store bought one.

Elissa P.

Yelp
I rolled in here thus AM while visiting Marfa, as it had good reviews. I loved everything about this place...except the tortilla! It was dry and fell apart while I ate my breakfast. Disappointing. The inside ingredients were really good, though, and the salsa was tasty and just enough heat. I'd try again but mention the tortilla next time

Caitlin D.

Yelp
I see why Matthew McConaughey loves it here. And Mark Ruffalo, but he only had one picture on the wall.

Rob P.

Yelp
Interesting space. Great food, great service, spicy salsa! Check it out... I would come back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
This famous and beloved Marfa restaurant deserves its fame. It is quintessential Texas, and the food here through both its simplicity and richness expresses the pride found in traditional Mexican cooking. We split a Primo Burrito - an enormous envelope of beans, cheese, potatoes, and pico de gallo. Each ingredient is made there to perfection. The freshness and texture of the pico give the burrito a crunchiness that contrasts with the smoothness and softness of the other ingredients. The service here is friendly, and the kitschy ambiance is pure West Texas. Along the walls, you can find countless pictures of the owner, Ramona, with her clients from over the years.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Not a lot of convenient dining options in the small town of Marfa Texas. This place unknown to me is famous. Pulling it up on Yelp, it looked like exactly what I needed. Hole in the wall-Check Charming as all get out_check,check Fully engaged owner-check AWE...Summmm burritos..100 Checks..... Right out of a movie scene, this little place will charm your socks off upon entering. Casual, noncorporate, get the job done, feed people, what we do is Make delicious burritos.... Don't miss this place....repeat when in Marfa Texas do not miss this Go Go Go!!!

Yelp
Recommended by locals, lived up to the high praise. Authentic Mexican food at great prices. Breakfast burritos I will definitely go back for. The salsa is absolutely amazing. I went back for seconds on that. Super burritos that are a super value, really tasty. Atmosphere is casual but cool. You also can write your name just about anywhere on the walls inside or out. Fun way to commemorate a trip. One of my favorite places to grab a quick bite in Marta.

Tyffany N.

Yelp
The burritos are huge and delicious! The people who run the place are super nice, and I really enjoyed the interior. I love the graffiti on the walls and how cozy the place is. During our five day stay, we visited three times and ended up taking like 6 burritos home with us. They were wonderful warmed up too. Do not miss this place if you're in town!

Foodie T.

Yelp
One of the few reliable breakfast places with indoor seating. Burritos only. Give them a try.

Carmen A.

Yelp
OMG!!! BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO OF MY LIFE!!! Home-made tortillas!!! The place is so clean & cute. I had my fave - chorizo, egg & cheese, but could only eat 1/2 bc everything really is bigger in TX!!! Highly recommend this place! It's a 10 out of 10!!!

Niharika G.

Yelp
A worthwhile stop in Marfa and west Texas! We got the egg and chorizo burrito which was a solid choice. Freshly made tortilla, fluffy egg and flavorful chorizo. Love that it is women run, and so long-standing. It's $7 a burrito, and they are pretty large in size. Many famous people have visited here and there is a wall of all the famous visitors with the owners! People like Anthony Bourdain!!

Savina M.

Yelp
The best food in marfa hands down. I wish I would've just eaten here our entire stay lol. Awesome service and enjoyable atmosphere as well.

Tyler C.

Yelp
This is Marfa. Whatever you think Marfa is, this is it. Simple, home cooked burritos and Mexican food. Large portions, split one unless you're really hungry and be prepared for a great bite in a very low-key spot. You feel the home style atmosphere here and the people are so friendly. You order at the counter, pay and either sit in the 2-3 tables or get it to go. These burritos are the size of your forearm packed with beef, cheese, egg, refried beans, chile or any combination. They also have special burritos. I would bring cash if possible.

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
If you're driving through or staying in Marfa, you definitely need to stop for a burrito here. It's a hole in the wall and I loved everything about it. My husband and I shared the El Gordo & Asado Burritos. Both of them were fantastic. I'm sure every burrito on the menu is great. It's cash only, so make sure you come prepared. They have a nice indoor and outdoor seating area.

Justin C.

Yelp
Great quick spot for breakfast burritos. The portion is pretty big. They're cash only no cards, Venmo, etc.

Nina T.

Yelp
Located on one of the main streets. It's easy to park on the side, but really you can park anywhere and it's at a walkable distance. Order at a window inside and get your order minutes after after. Watch out, it's cash only! There are seating inside and outside. With a great 65ish weather, we took it out. We got the cunado, which had beans, cheese and beef! Great size, $10! Service was prompt and food was tasty, good to fill you up for a bit. Tortilla was a little on the thick side, looked a little like a naan (imo) but fresh cooked food! Tldr: Easy stop for a quick take out. Support local !

Andrew S.

Yelp
AMAZING! Went for breakfast on the way to Big Bend NP and Lunch on the way back! Best burrito I've EVER HAD!!!

Jeff B.

Yelp
Great spot, not sure on the history, because we're not local, but it has that family business feel, apparently a lot of local history. Be sure to bring cash. Don't be surprised if one burrito is sufficient, but some hearty appetites might want 2. Very homemade taste!! They make everything once ordered, so it might be a tiny wait, but worth it. The staff is sweet and friendly. Just look at the reviews here, so deserved. Everyone loves the place.

Hue P.

Yelp
I heard this place is famous or at least rich and famous people have come here like the posted pics on the wall show. One is Matthew Mconnaughy (sic). I really don't like burritos- il like butrito bowls, so can't really compare this one to others. I came in a group who wanted burritos from this touristy place. I can say the burritos are huge! Bigger than I have ever had or seen. My pork carnitas were just meat wrapped in an over sized flour tortilla. I did not taste beans nor rice in it. They do have salsas to put. If u love burritos come on down!

Ms. Warmie W.

Yelp
Marfa Burrito is the most-reviewed restaurant in Marfa, TX on Yelp at the time of this post. It has the longest burritos that I have ever seen. The flour tortillas looked and tasted freshly made. Eggs, sausage and potatoes were soft and flavorful. The service was fine. The lady at the register was friendly. However, the wait time was really long when there were only two people in front of us. The murals look really cool and had a college vibe. Most of the people there looked like tourists. Also, this was one of the few restaurants that was open when we were there. Some of the other restaurants nearby were closed for a few days due to the owners taking a 4th of July vacation. Call before you go. Yelp
Got wind of Marfa Burrito on Bourdain's West Texas trip some years back. Finally got to stop in for breakfast on a recent trip celebrating my GF's birthday. I skipped the tacos offered at the hotel and drove down a few blocks to grab breakfast. Thankfully, the Channel 13 news van or the local paparazzi didn't notice. Menu is very simple; not even broken up by breakfast or lunch offerings. I came for the asado which is only served in a small region from around Midland to Big Bend area. Think red chili pork instead of the pork chili verde using tomatillos seen widely around the state. It's been a breakfast staple every visit out here in the high desert; Magoo's in Alpine is another goto spot. Was this burrito life changing? With supporting patrons like Bourdain, McConaughey, and Mark Ruffalo (just to name a few) adorning the walls I've got to give it a good but I'd still pick my favorite taco shack in Dripping Springs, Texas over MB.

Kristine F.

Yelp
What a cute little place!! The decor is a hodgepodge of random tables and chairs with a country-Mexican esthetic. There is graffiti all over the walls from customers and guest's signing their names and leaving messages. And there are dozens of photos with celebrity guests and customers alike!!! The menu is simplistic but to the point. However you can ask to add other ingredients to your burrito. Oh and it's CASH ONLY so be prepared before you go! As soon as you walk in you're greeted with amazing aromas of food and spices and it actually reminded me of my grandmothers house. The people are super friendly and the burritos were HUGE!!! The homemade tortillas were soft and had a hit of grilled smokiness to them and the homemade salsa was SPICY GOOD!! Of course we got the chorizo-and-egg burritos. They're served with homemade red and green salsas. The green is particularly spicy and delicious, and cuts the richness of the chorizo. Which made each bite tastier than the last!! I mean I've had my fair share of breakfast burritos but this place totally stands out because truly it's all about the tortillas and salsa!! You know it's that good when you have thoughts about the place and even dreams after you leave!!! Be sure to say hello to Ramona and maybe take a picture with her!! She took our photo but she used her phone...it's all good!! We'll be back!!! buen provecho!!

Yelp
On our last day in Marfa, after a brief visit following a couple of full days exploring Big Bend National Park, my wife and I decided to try out Marfa Burrito. We struck up a conversation with another visitor the day prior by the Giant movie homage/display along highway 90 and he highly recommended this place. I read up on it and it looked like it may have gained fans after it was featured on an episode in Tony Bourdain's Parts Unknown back in 2018. I don't know if celebrities like Matthew McConaghuey, Mark Ruffalo and even Kevin Bacon followed Bourdain or preceded his visit but we were intrigued. It was a short walk from Hotel Saint George on a rather cold early Friday morning. The place was empty save a couple of ladies behind the counter prepping food. After perusing the short menu, my wife opted for the Primo and I ordered the Asado with cheese. Our orders were served soon enough and we hightailed it back to our hotel to eat them with some hot coffee. Impressions: - the burritos were large; the freshly made tortillas were great, pliable and dotted with charred spots - my Asado was flavorful but oh so messy to eat - my wife liked her burrito and commented how the salsa had the right amount of heat; she wished she read it didn't have eggs as she really wanted eggs in it - the burritos were a bit unwieldy to eat as it wasn't really wrapped as one would expect of a burrito...the ends weren't tucked in tightly to contain the fillings All in all, it was worth trying and glad we did to see all the hype. The lady behind the counter (not Ramona) indicated they've been around 25 years or so.

Greyson B.

Yelp
CASH ONLY. This place is a national treasure. the abuelita that owns this little shack is a local legend, and you'll see her posing with celebrities that's posted all over the restaurant. She has multiple photos with Anthony Bourdain which was so cool to me as a chef. If you engage with the staff and are kind, they may even let you come back and roll out a couple tortillas. As far as food goes, one of the best burritos i've ever had in my life. $10. These lady's are pros at what they do and it shows. The shack itself is adorable and intimate with photos and autographs covering every inch of the space. Go here if you want to make core memories. Muchas Gracias mamás. knowing spanish is a plus.

Colette H.

Yelp
Ramona is the sweetest ever and there is always hot coffee and water. The cuñado rips

Kevin B.

Yelp
This is the second time I've shown up during their operating hours only for them to be closed. I got tried calling ahead, but they don't pick up their phone. Hours of Operation stated are from 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM; we drove 30 minutes out of our way before heading back to Austin from Alpine and arrived at 10:00 AM. When we got there, we saw a lady walk out with a burrito and were so excited to try only to be majorly disappointed. I don't know when I'll be back again, but maybe 3rd time's a charm?

Katie S.

Yelp
Small, unassuming shop with very kind and speedy service. Cash only! The cuñado was delicious, just a little heat but so flavorful. A masterclass in doing a few things well vs a ton of things okay.

Michelle W.

Yelp
Best damn burrito I've ever had. If you think you've had good burritos before elsewhere, think again. You haven't. This is a must try. Put it on your bucket list, try it at least once before you kick the bucket, or twice or as many times you could afford to. Amazingly flavorful food and the sauce is to die for. Bring cash and a hungry stomach. Read the walls, say hi to people. Live.

Lindsey H.

Yelp
The best burrito I have ever had and I'm from San Antonio! The food came out very quick and they even offer free coffee! The ambience is very sweet and homey yet quirky. Overall an excellent establishment.

Sara B.

Yelp
Fun little spot and good burritos. The gordo burrito is the one to get. Bring cash because it is cash only.

Katie A.

Yelp
Super nice staff and delicious, giant burritos. What's not to like? We tried the cañado and a bean/potato/cheese/pico burrito and both were so good!

Lana F.

Yelp
I went early on a Tuesday morning and there was no line. The service was quick and the food was hot and delicious. The burritos are massive. Most things are between $8 and $10 and the restaurant is cash only so come prepared for that. Great spot to grab breakfast or lunch at!

Thomas B.

Yelp
I'll admit to being skeptical when we finally found this place. Its a decent walk from the El Paesano Hotel and you have to walk across a big ass set of railroad tracks. But once you arrive and walk inside, you've arrived at Burrito Heaven. As you wait in line inside an old building that is already hot by 9 am, you notice pictures of the owner with folks such as Anthony Bordain, Matthew Macaunahey, and Kevin Bacon. The selection is limited but you sense that magic is being done in the back and you won't be disappointed. Fresh ingredients, perfect seasoning and the best tortillas you've ever tasted are being created within a burrito the size of a 12 inch Subway sandwich. (Well, almost.) Don't go for the coffee, but definitely go for the burritos.

Gayle D.

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying this place based on high ratings but I was truly disappointed & will not go back...burrito was dry, had absolutely no flavor, and just plain gross!! Best thing about Marfa Burrito was the photos of Matthew McConaughey on the wall. Do yourself a favor and go to The Water Stop instead :-)

Tamara L.

Yelp
Exactly what the sign says...burritos, and that's it. Very authentic, large, generous servings and very tasty. It's cash only, with each of the 5-6 burrito choices on the menu being $10, it's cheap eats. Order and pay at the window and the food comes out very quickly. The place sits in a pretty divey trailer house with graffiti all over walls and plenty of duct tape on the floor. You can tell it's a favorite with the locals. Pleasant, friendly staff, lots of hot sauce choices and dang fine burritos.

Ron A.

Yelp
I enjoyed the ambiance of the internal seating area and left a writing on the wall. The burrito selection was limited at 7:30am and was charged $10 for a breakfast burrito that had no eggs in it...very interesting. Best if eatten fresh and not as a leftover

Joshua H.

Yelp
Not the biggest burritos I've had compared to Chipolte or Freebirds but certainly the most authentic in flavor and uniqueness. I got the Asada burrito, had egg added, held the cheese(lactose issues) was solid! Super tasty and the real masa flour grilled tortillas made a huge difference in quality. Stuffed with asada pork in a red sauce with potatoes, tomatoes, and onions. For $8 you can't beat this place. Long line by 10am on a Tuesday when we came in but its also one of the only spots open at that time in this town. Line moves quickly, 15 minutes for us to get to the window and order I'd say. Fiance'got the Guordito and crushed it before we even left the lot. I managed to hold off and crush mine later in or our drive home.

Ivy S.

Yelp
We had to do it! I love the history of the restaurant and honestly I love how simple it is. Homemade massive, soft tortillas, fresh and delicious salsas, and simple combinations. I always say you can't go wrong with a simple yet quality product and that is what Marfa Burritos is all about. Scope the walls of celebrity pass throughs while waiting, all though it won't be long. We were treated very kindly and served super quick! The patio was a perfect spot to munch.

Chucky H.

Yelp
The wait was a little long and the line wound around the very small (and hot) dining room, but the burritos made up for it! The homemade tortillas are incredible and in my opinion are the best part of these burritos. There are only a handful of options on the menu, but you really can't go wrong no matter which one you choose. Neat little place with a lot of good photos on the dining room walls that you can check out while waiting. They also have markers and let you write on the walls if you want to commemorate your visit. If I ever go to Marfa again, I will definitely come back to Marfa Burrito.

Jenny L.

Yelp
Damn good burritos in the middle of nowhere. The ladies working there were super nice and the food was hot and fresh.

Brandy L.

Yelp
The food was delicious and as you can see by the picture the burritos are huge. The menu was limited because we arrived right before closing. We ending up ordering the adobo burrito and were not disappointed! I have been craving another ever since. Can't wait to go back!

Carly H.

Yelp
Simple and delicious. We sat on the patio and scarfed down our meal without conversation which meant our food was tasty and we were so hungry from the day. Would recommend! CASH ONLY.

Heather E.

Yelp
If you love local, low-key hole in the walls that serve great food--this is your place. Know that it's cash only! The tortillas are incredible--fresh, huge--delicious! I live in Virginia, but can't wait to get back to Marfa and eat at Marfa Burritos. Get you some!!

Mark R.

Yelp
The best folks in town, so friendly. Great food too. Highly recommended! If you don't go it's your fault.

Vlad V.

Yelp
On my second visit to Marfa, I stopped by Marfa Burrito for lunch. This burrito joint has quite the reputation as celebrities like the late Anthony Boudain, Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Bacon, and Mark Ruffalo have been there. You can see their pictures on the wall. How cool! Marfa Burrito is super casual. It's a converted house with a patio and limited seating indoors. The menu is on a chalkboard, it's pretty small, and you order at the counter. Once your order is ready, they'll call your name. I went with the asado burrito with no beans and was super disappointed. This is Marfa's most popular restaurant and it has that hype factor but the burrito didn't stand out. In fact, it was below average at best. The meat wasn't too warm. It seems like it had been sitting for a while as it was lukewarm. The tortilla to meat and cheese ratio was off. I know that the beans would have helped but it was a lot of bread and not enough meat. The tortilla was good and it was grilled on the griddle. Burritos typically have rice inside but this isn't something you'll find at Marfa Burrito. Since rice is typically the foundation of a burrito, it takes up room and would have helped here. The restaurant is outdated and the burrito was meh. I was super surprised I didn't have at least a four-star experience there.
