Mambo

Came here at the end of the “African Lisbon Tour” (incredible tour, have done it twice, absolutely recommend it) and loved just about everything about this restaurant. They had a small menu with dishes from a few west African countries as well as Cape Verde and most of the dishes were available as vegetarian if not vegan. I had the stew (vegan version) both times and it was incredible. So much flavor! The service was amazing as well, they were very friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. The restaurant is also at the heart of the green street so the vibe is great if you end up sitting outside as well. All in all, definitely recommend it, with or without the African Lisbon Tour (although I strongly recommend the tour too!).

One of my favorite restaurants in Lisbon! I had an amazing time here. The atmosphere is super relaxed and welcoming, the staffs are very friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. They offer plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and the chilli sauce is flavorful and spicy. 🔥 Highly recommended!

This restaurant was the last stop on our African History Tour and it is absolutely AMAZING! The food was the most flavorful we've had while in Lisbon. The basil smash drink was fantastic. There were several people in our group and everyone tried something different. All the dishes were 10 out of 10!

One of my favorite things about this restaurant was the vibe. We stopped here after a city walking tour and the staff welcomed us like family. It felt like I stopped by my big brother’s house for some home cooked food. Kids playing in the walkway, beautiful weather, and excellent drinks. The energy (each time I visited) was fun, down to earth, and relaxing. The food was so good that I ate all of mine and ordered a plate to go. Then I returned one more time before I left Portugal, lol! Here’s what was so yummy: the mafe (which was like a groundnut stew with beef) and the yassa poulet (a smothered chicken). The flavors were so rich and cozy. Everyone at the table had completely cleaned their plates after about 15 minutes. Only bones and knives remained, lol. Such a great experience, can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely delicious! Just go. The drinks, kind service, and flavorful food made the experience top notch.

Guys you know when I give a review it’s with careful consideration for everything and mostly the service…especially if it’s by recommendation. “I feel like I am at my grandmother’s house” one of my colleagues said. “ I am in my happy place doing my happy dance” my Friend said. - The food came to the table at a reasonable time and was very delicious. -The Drinks were specialty drinks and the server ( Jill ) took his time to explain every layer and of the drinks and also very tasty. -The place is small so the seating is an intimate one for large groups,the atmosphere is nice and the music took you to another world. -I recommend you give them a try and ask for (Jill )

Let me tell you about Mambo! We'd heard it was the final stop of the African history tour, but we didn't make the tour. Yet we still wanted to try the restaurant. So, last Friday night, we went to Green Street, and wow....was this a treat! This might have been the best food we had in Lisbon! Food was hot, fresh, delicious. The drinks were tasty, too! The photos and videos speak for themselves. We had a most gracious host -- he took the time to explain the dishes and served us with attention. Gave great recommendations for how to spent the rest of our night and time in Lisbon as well. The music was a great background to our time spent at Mambo, and we even got a group shot at the end! 10/10.

Delicious, Distinctive, Enjoyable food. Our server was extremely polite, and made us feel at home. The drink we ordered was excellent.
