"Maligne Canyon Icewalk Slide into your warmest winter boots, strap on a pair of ice cleats, and bundle on an extra layer before descending into the Maligne Canyon for a unique Jasper experience. Curving rock walls create the perfect labyrinth to explore the depths of this frozen winter wonderland. Dazzling towers of blue-green ice stretch 50 meters overhead, fossils dot the canyon floor, and caverns drop into the abyss. The three major highlights all dazzle in their own way. The Grotto is a fast-flowing waterfall hidden beneath a giant curtain of ice. Angel Falls is a training ground for local ice climbers, and the Queen of the Maligne is a giant, freestanding ice tower. It’s ever-changing, but it’s often good to slip behind the entire column for a truly unique view. Designated as a Canadian Signature Experience by the Canadian Tourism Commission, the entire adventure is led by qualified guides who are familiar with the local geography—the canyon is part of the largest Karst System in North America—wildlife, and, perhaps most importantly, ice conditions. It’s also Jasper’s most popular winter tour because it’s fascinating for every member of the family. The Maligne Canyon Ice Walk season typically lasts from December to March, weather dependent. The tours last three hours, including two hours outside. All tours offer hotel pickup, too, so visiting Maligne Canyon is as easy as booking online."

We did the Maligne Valley Wildlife & Waterfalls Tour & Cruise and definitely recommend! We did luck out and had beautiful sunny skies and got to see several bears and cubs. Our bus driver, Sam, had great knowledge about the area and I learned so much about animals. The boat tour guide, Devan, had a great sense of humor and was full of interesting information. We never felt rushed. The bus was small enough that it was easy on/off and you got to meet your fellow travelers. This was a great way to see Jasper.

Every place we went in Jasper people were very friendly. Emma drove our van for our trip to Maligne Lake. She was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable of the area, and it is obvious that she loves that area and her country. She walked us back to Moose Lake and answered all of our many questions. Moose Lake was beautiful, it caused us to want to be silent, kind of in awe of that place. We didn’t get to see a moose this time, but the walk was great anyway. 5* for Emma!

Had an amazing time on this tour! We saw tons of wildlife including an eagle, coyote, big horn sheep, deer, black bear, and even a grizzly bear with her cubs! A must do for anyone visiting Jasper!! You learn and see the park so differently doing it with a tour guide and Jake was awesome!! Highly recommend!

Our guide, Jake, made us feel welcome and shared interesting information about Jasper National Park, its history, geology, plant and wildlife. He made sure our minibus got the best positions for seeing and photographing wildlife, including a grizzly bear. And Lake Maligne is incredibly beautiful.

The pickup was easy and our guide Pascal was wonderful. He did his best to show us all the sights while staying on schedule. It was a full day of fun and jammed packed for the price.

A great tour we had there, though we would have loved to see a Grizzly (I know would not be so likely to see one ;)) Our guide Ross made sure we saw a lot of wildlife. Made the extra detour for spaces where the locals know to find bears and other wildlife (although we were unlucky there) and had great bear stories to share for the long drive :)

Brent Daniels was a great guide. We saw deer and elk all over Jasper and the spots he knows. We also saw Big horn sheep and was able to watch two juvenile males banging heads and trying to take the small trees down. Rambunctious trio of them. Brent was very informative about the animals, the eco system and the elevation challenges the animals face. I highly recommend this tour but as Brent said- he won’t be able to top the sheer number of deer in several varieties we saw today!

Unforgettable Wildlife Tour with Maligne Adventures My wife and I had an incredible experience on our wildlife sightseeing tour with Maligne Adventures. Ross, our guide, was punctual and maintained excellent communication throughout the journey. During our 6-hour tour, Ross provided extensive commentary, sharing fascinating stories and facts about the local area and its wildlife. His decades of experience as a Jasper local brought a unique perspective, enriching our experience with insights we wouldn't have gained with another guide. If you're traveling through the Canadian Rockies, a visit to Jasper is a must—and booking a tour with Maligne Adventures, especially with Ross, is an absolute necessity.
