This is a fine dining 2-level supper-club in the Toronto Entertainment District. From 5:00-8:00pm, it is a fine dining southern French restaurant featuring seafood and some steak/lamb. There are sushi and sashimi available too; hence the "raw bar". From 8:00pm to 2:00am, it becomes more of a supper-club with DJ music and lights (the lights move late-night).
There are many different areas on the two floors. There is the main dining area on the ground floor, a fancy lit-up bar with bar seating, a sushi bar, and a Dom Perignon mirror wall, and a Miami coast wall. Upstairs, there are more dining areas but there is a small lounge area and a small bar. The DJ is also on the 2nd floor.
The lights slowly get brighter as the night goes on; the music also gets louder. For example, the sushi bar is slightly lit at 5:00pm but by 9:00pm, it is full of colour.
The staff are very courteous, very attentive, and helpful. Our server, Shkurta, was thoroughly amazing.
The menu changes regularly to reflect fresh seafood and local produce.
For drinks, we had a bottle of Vellemo still water ($9), Orange Juice ($5), a virgin cocktail ($7), and a Ginger Divine cocktail ($25). The virgin cocktail consists of passion fruit, pineapple, lime juice, and Sprite - very delicious. The Ginger Divine has "El Gobernador" Pisco, Blue Curacao, Honey Chamomile, Lime, and Ginger Beer.
Appetizers are $16-$30. We ordered the Shrimp Cocktail ($24) which has 3 jumbo (and I mean giant!) shrimp. It was so meaty and succulent. We also ordered the Lobster Bisque ($30) which has lobster tail, creme fraiche, chive, Oscetra caviar, and micro fennel. The bisque is poured at your table. It was a great combination of tastes.
Japanese food are $19 to $65. There is a decadent $100 roll that has Oscetra caviar, truffle, gold flakes, foie gras (pate), a slice of A5 wagyu beef, lobster tempura, Hennessey soy glaze, and spicy mayo. Definitely decadent and delicious!
We had to try another dish from the sushi bar: Wagyu Tataki ($60). It has A5 wagyu beef, crispy quinoa, bentitade chives, sesame, spicy ponzu. Who doesn't like A5 wagyu and this didn't disappoint and the mixture of ingredients compliment the beef well.
We also had a Seafood Tower ($150) which has a half lobster, oysters, king crab legs, mussels, shrimp cocktail, and tuna tartare. The oysters and king crab legs were so delicious. Because the crab legs were sliced in half, it only required a fork to lift out the entire carb meat. We didn't order the Ultimate Seafood Tower ($330) which has an extra layer containing assorted sashimi and 10 gm of Ostra Caviar (which costs $75 if ordered separately).
You can also indulge in Oscetra or Beluga) caviar from $75 to $300 per serving!
There are your standard steaks but there are also Fiorentina Steak 34oz (Tuscan cuisine) for $180 and Bone in Tomahawk Steak 45oz for $195! Tomahawk steaks are absolutely delicious!
We chose the Osso Buco ($40) with mashed potatoes, baby carrots, leeks, and gremolata. This is a Lombardy cuisine with cross-cut veal shanks. The veal was so tender that you can peel it off the bone with a fork.
If you feel like splurging even more, get a Mademoiselle Platter for $450! It comes with Bone-in Tomahawk Steak, Grilled Snapper, Lamb Chops, Jumbo Prawns, Twice-baked Caviar Potato, Aparagus, Mushrooms, Fries. Hope you are hungry!
You can bring well-behaved children if you wish (don't expect a high-chair!), but it is best between 5:00-8:00pm. We brought our 8-year-old son with us. For him, we ordered the Lobster Mac ($24) and Truffle Fries ($14). The former has momay sauce, lobster, and cheddar bread crumbs.
Of course no meal is complete without dessert! We ordered Ice Cream Sundae ($12), S'mores ($12) and Chocolate Mousse Cake ($12).
The Ice Cream Sundae comes with vanilla ice cream, sweet & nutty blonde, strawberry sauce, white chocolate crisp, and maraschino cherry. The S'mores has graham cracker crumbs, chocolate terrine, and marshmallow made to look like a spiky shell. The Chocolate Mousse Cake has layered chocolate mousse, raspberry jelly, rose sponge cake, milk chocolate chantilly, and meringue kisses.
This supper-club had its grand opening on 2022-05-12. The building used have a strip club called "For Your Eyes Only"; you'll find two homages to it, one just inside the entrance.
Upper management do walk around. We met Peter Girges (owner), Ana-Maria (managing partner), and Ryan Bauer (general manager).
There is no free WiFi. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible but not upstairs. There is a male washroom and a wheelchair accessible gender-neutral washroom on the ground floor. There is a female washrooms upstairs. Washrooms are chicly-decorated. There is limited paid neighbourhood street parking, especially when the entertainment district is in full swing.
