"Animal shaped cakes. If this is what cuteness tastes like, it's pretty sweet. Why does the cake need to look like a bear? We’re not sure, but we’re happy that it does. This café ticks the box when it comes to service, interior and delicious baked good. Highly recommended, if not for the Instagrammable moments." - Blueboat

I had an enjoyable experience at this cake shop. The grapefruit tea, priced at $3 per cup, is very refreshing. Easter cakes are so cute and came in four varieties: - Adorable little yellow chicks, looks like just-hatched-from-an-egg 🐣 - Carrot 🥕 - loved by the cute bunny. - Chocolate eggs with white angel wings attached. - There's also a hidden design featuring the little bunny – unfortunately, it was still a work in progress when I visited. Well, maybe next time. Opted for the white mousse cake for a birthday celebration, and everyone thinks it’s deliciousness. The texture is delicate, not overly sweet, with a refreshing mango flavor and crunchy hazelnuts. 💖

Absolutely love this cake plus pastry shop! The cakes are delicious, beautifully crafted, and not overly sweet. The croissants are incredibly flaky, and there's a wide variety of flavors to choose from. Highly recommended!

Still one of my favourite cakes - wished that you guys brought back the cookie base instead of the sponge base but regardless, still a delicious recipe 🤭

one of my favourite cake and dessert cafes 10 years ago and safe to say it’s still just as good! The cakes are luxurious, presentation and taste is on point- with a lot of attention and detail put into each cake. The chocolate is tempered well and they have nice flavour combinations, perfect treat for any special occasion. They’re currently doing a limited edition Easter cake series and that includes the: 🍴Chick me out ($14.88) Mango mousse with tropical exotic fruits jelly, coconut dacquoise, yellow chocolate glaze 🍴Easter Egg ($13.88) White chocolate mousse, milk chocolate ganache with soft caramel spread, caramel chocolate shell 🍴Carrot Baby ($13.88) Jaffa dark chocolate mousse with orange jelly, orange chocolate shell with green sponge Our favourite was probably the Easter Egg, classic flavour combinations done well! The designs are soooo cute and perfect for this Easter! It’s nice to see their popular cakes have remained permanent items, I loved their giant raspberry macaron and matcha cake - loved it many years ago and I still enjoy it- flavours are light, well balanced and not too sweet, they have a refreshing element to it with a nice contrast through layers of different textures and flavours. We also tried the- 🍴I heart you ($11) Light vanilla mousse, elderflower jelly, strawberry compote, yoghurt and almond crunchy base 🍴Uji Matcha Cheesecake ($10) Uji matcha joconde, Japanese rice wine, pistachio ganache, cream cheese, salted matcha crumble with a matcha and pistachio macaron 🍴Endless love ($11.50) Giant Macaron with lychee ganache, rose cream, lychee and fresh raspberries 🍴Epic chocolate cravings ($9.50) Dark chocolate cake with hazelnut crust, chocolate truffle filled with salted caramel and dark chocolate and gold garnish 🍴Pandan coconut and salted caramel macaron ($3) ☕️Grape Ice Tea ($3)

Absolutely stunning selection of pastries and dessert. Some of the desserts have nice Asian flavours like the Kaya and the Matcha macaron. The standout by far was the Meringue Monster. Everything was beautiful and delicious. There are also GF options (which are outstanding. I didn't even notice and I generally dislike GF food), NF and Halal options, something for everyone! It was a bit on the pricey side but TOTALLY worth it. If you have an Asian mom, she will love this place. It's not too sweet 😂

Don't risk ordering from here, even if you preorder chances are they will forget your order... Made an online order over a week ago for a cake and some smaller cakes for a 35th birthday. When I arrived today to pick them up, I was advised that the order had not been prepared as they had forgotten to print it out. Luckily, my pick-up was not at the end of the day, and a replacement cake of the same type was provided. However, still waiting on my refund on the items they didn't have, as staff were unable to process a refund whilst I was there. Extremely disappointed, and now need to spend my afternoon looking for alternatives.

Yummy desserts with Malaysian flavors. Their pastries are full of creativity and special too. Plenty of variety of cakes. They often have special pastry on sale, but better order online to avoid disappointment. Limited seats in the cafe if you want to relax.

Yelp
Too hyped up. I'm all for patisseries. I used to baked so I've always had a sweet tooth. I was recommended my a local saying this was the best place for the desserts. So I ended up buying 3 different ones which ended up being around $60. Must say the presentation is on point. 10/10. Out of the 3 my colleagues and I only like 1 of them. The dark chocolate bite was a 8.5/10. You should try it out though. There croissants looked amazing but I was only looking for desserts around.

Yelp
So happy to finally crossed LuxBite off my list, a sweet spot in South Yarra that I had been eyeing on for a while. Residing on the long stretch of Toorak Rd, just a couple of blocks from the metro station. LuxBite is a medium-sized cafe that has successfully creates a charming and homey atmosphere with a touch of class from the high ceiling, modern design and marble table top. I walked in at around 3:30 p.m., and already they ran out of 50% of their selections, also missed the opportunity to try their MasterChef famous Lolly bag cake *sad* My pick of treats: Kuma - A wonderful play of strawberry and banana cream flavor on top of a chocolate tart pastry. The presentation was insanely adorable, but taste-wise, it was too sweet and heavy for my liking. The chocolate decorations was not delicate and the tart based pastry was a tad too hard. With each cake costing $8-9 each, expensive for what basically amounts to a few bites. Be My Love - Again, the presentation was so darn cute, almost too beautiful to be eaten. However, it was just as forgettable as the previous. A milk chocolate mousse with raspberry jelly in the middle- it has that combination taste of sweet and sour that was a little too overpowering for my palate. The best part about my trip to LuxBite however, has got to be sipping their Rose lychee latte. Mildly infused Rose-lychee flavor latte garnished with raspberry bits. Quite creative, delicious and slightly bitter - a perfect remedy to tone down the richness and sweetness of the cake. Short to say, LuxBite was just an alright experience for me, but I would say it's still worth the try - the taste might not be anything too special, but the cake artistry here is superb and the staffs are full of smiles. Would definitely be back for the Lolly bag one day!

Yelp
I had their matcha green tea croissant, and a mocha with soy. Absolutely delicious, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place!

Yelp
Lux does super cute desserts and macarons, most of which look far too good to eat. I ordered "Be my love" which was a perfect, well balance dessert, with the strong, sweet flavour of the chocolate coating balancing well with the light raspberry sponge and mousse on the inside. My other half order the bread and butter pudding. The pudding itself was very enjoyable, but came with a very sweet custard which just tipped the balance of the dish, making it a little sickly. Coffee was pleasant, but a little too subtle tasting for my preference. The seating area, with a window bench and large communal table works well, and makes good use of the limited space. Communal seating is so large it still feels as though you have space, and it's more of somewhere for a snack, than a place you would stay for a while. The marble table gives in a sleek and upmarket feel. Really enjoyable experience, with delicious sweets.

Yelp
Yes, a cake that tastes like lolly bags does exist! As seen on Master Chef, this multilayered cake of oozy goodness starts with banana lolly Joconde and finishes with a topping of Redskin glaze! Oooh and the Blue Calpis is also a must!

Sarina W.

Yelp
Did you know that other than their legendary Lolly Bag Cake, Luxbite at South Yarra also do savoury brunch and snacks? With Luxbite's Malaysian roots you can definitely expect some Malaysian fusion items on the menu as well as the standard eggs on toast. Monkylicious and I recently visited Luxbite to have brunch before the Yelp at Blackman's elite event and we had the amazingly melt in your mouth braised beef with egg on creamy mashed potatoes and their beautiful pandan chicken burger. A must visit if you are in the neighbourhood!

Yelp
The sweets here are a work of art. As the quote on the window reads, "life is uncertain, eat dessert first"... inspired by this, the only things I've eaten here have all been desserts. I know I really should try the food on the menu but as soon as I walk in, all I have eyes for are the desserts. Who could blame me? The huge selection of crazy flavoured macarons and the window full of cakes makes it hard to even consider anything else! LuxBite has an interesting contrast of Malaysian flavours that I'd never tried before and your more standard dessert flavours. The macarons are everything from green tea pistachio, bamboo oolong tea to salted caramel which makes choosing just one an impossible task. Better to buy a few to take home in a gift box! The nostalgic Lolly Bag cake featured on Masterchef a little while ago but personally, I find it harder to resist that Endless Love. The name sums up my feelings towards this over-sized macaron filled with rose cream, lychee ganache and sprinked with fresh raspberries. Ever so sweet and an overload of the colour pink! LuxBite has no bathroom facilities on site and not a lot of seating options. I recommend popping in for a sweet treat and continuing on or ordering something delicious take-away. I think it's for the best - if I stayed here too long, I'd end up just eating more and more (this is the kind of sweet shop that tests your self control with everything sounding oh so good). Also, many of the desserts here are gluten-free which is good if you're buying an edible gift for a friend! My birthday is in mid-February if anyone wants to shout me a macaron tower...

Chely May R.

Yelp
Endless love cake $75 was clearly a labour of love, Giant macaron with fresh raspberries and lychees, this cake is a perfect combination of sweet, fresh, fruity and light. It looks crazy, and tastes even better. Luxbite looks like a friendly and creative team, with serious love for desserts. If you can think it, they probably can make it We've only tried the macarons and this cake so far, but will seriously come back for a sit down cake/tea soon enough, someone quick have another birthday so we can get more cake !

Yelp
First things first on any visit to LuxBite often plays out in a pet shop like situation; punters practically press their noses against the display window and contemplate which morsel to take in for the day. There's a lot of "oooh"-ing and "ahhh"-ing, a lot of "oh, but I seriously can't decide!" and more recently, "THAT'S THE ONE FROM MASTERCHEF!" And yes, there was "that cake" - pre cut at $7.50 a piece or presented in take home slabs available from $35 onwards, dependant on size. I think the best way to experience the ethos behind LuxBite's fusion offerings is to order the High Tea Set ($48.00) Included are any two of their signature cakes, two of their equally creative savoury morsels, four macarons of your choice and beverages for two. Their coffee is from Toby's Estate and it's beyond delicious - starting from $3.50 for a regular cup and $4.00 for a large. As far as their breakfast dishes go, the portions are a little on the small side, but I like to think it's because they know that you'll be needing room for dessert! I loved both the Lamb, Mint and Rosemary Sausage with 60/60 eggs, Avocado, Feta, Tomato Relish, Toast ($15.00) and Cheese Fondue: Baked Brie, Fruit Chutney with Fig, Apricot and Date Toast ($15.00) - to me, that's two unique breakfasts that are as cheap as chips! Must Try Macarons: (4 for $11, 8 for $22, 12 for $30, 16 for $40) Bamboo Oolong Tea Pandan Sour Strawberry Peanut Butter & Jelly Heilala Vanilla Crème Brûlée Watermelon & Guava Salted Caramel Green Tea Pistachio Kaya Toast Must Try Cakes: Endless Love ($9.00) Meringue Monster ($8.50) The Lolly Bag Cake ($7.50) Green Tea Cheesecake ($8.50)

Yelp
Setting the scene: Saturday morning, 10:20am, 4 keen adults, standing outside Luxbite waiting for them to open their doors. 'Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first' - a motto Luxbite and I share. Just like a kid in a lolly shop, I found myself being reduced to a child-like state asking my friends "can we have this ...... oooohhhhh ....... and this .......... and what about macarons .... do you think 4 is enough???!!!!" A word of warning before you go through the Luxbite door - someone has to be appointed a food controller. A person who is strong enough to withstand all unreasonable reasons, winges, cries, tantrums and lies. If my friend didn't step in earlier, I would have bought every single slice of cake and macaron. Instead we had the Endless Love, Monster Meringue, Be My Love and some macarons (flavours: pandan, peanut butter and jelly per Yen's suggestion, salted caramel). The Monster Meringue was my favourite which was unexpected given it's look so never judge a book by its cover. We received a fair bit of help from Yen (one of the co-owners) and staff were friendly. Definitely going back again when I'm in Melbourne.

Yelp
All I can say is WoW! On an off chance I was looking for places near by and stumbled across LuxBite deserts. These would have to be the best deserts I have had in the last decade. Prices are very reasonable compared to having a sit down desert at a restaurant. This time round we tried the Lolly Cake made from real melted down lollies, the Meringue Monster (just awesome) & Endless Love (Love IT) made from fresh Raspberries. 5 Stars and a thumbs up from the kids.

Jami O.

Yelp
We had the lolli cake. And it was delicious. This spot is the perfect spot for afternoon tea and coffee. It's a rather small but decorated very nicely.

Yelp
Not wanting to deny myself the chance at sampling the latest macarons in town, I chose to visit Lux Bite, armed with nothing but a sweet tooth. And as most dessert lovers know, it's best to leave your diet till tomorrow and this is certainly true at this fabulous little eatery. A crystal clear cabinet lined with pretty macarons in distinctly delicious flavours awaits. Make no mistake: these macarons are not your typical sweets and as we soon discovered are highly popular with Malaysians and Singaporeans because of the distinct homegrown flavours created by Malaysian maestros, Bernard Chu and Yen Yee. Try the Kaya toast (coconut and pandan jam on toast), kaffir lime, mandarin and saffron and childhood favourite: peanut butter jelly for a unique twist on this French classic. My favourite however is the humble Watermelon yoghurt macaron just because I think it's pretty darn hard to get the essence of watermelon spot on and these bite-sized morsels do exactly that. There's also another clear case of delicious desserts like bread and butter pudding in a rich pandan custard and a cheeky cherry mousse and kirsch doused hazelnut sponge, finished with chocolate spray and a cherry bomb. Can you say yum! LuxBite is also the only place I know that serves Teaforte tea. Perfect for an afternoon cuppa to accompany your sweet feast. Whatever your fancy, one bite certainly will not be enough!

Yelp
Ok. So this place has gotten a sugar bag load of attention since being featured on Masterchef Australia and I'd have to say rightly so. I couldn't come here and not try the famous Lolly Bag cake. Inspired by childhood memories of musk sticks, jaffas, spearmint leaves, pop rocks and the almighty redskin! As I walked towards the store on Toorak Rd I was enveloped by the enticing smell of baking cakes. They had me before I had even walked in the door. The Lolly Bag cake was light and delicious and you can really taste the difference in all the layers and distinctly make out which one is which. As Elmo would say it's a sometimes food, but just consider sometime is just around the corner. Oh and the coffee was great as well. I think I'll be taking some goodies away with me!

Pearce D.

Yelp
I was sadly disappointed with my experience at LuxBite. Was it because I was there on a gloomy Sunday? Was it because I don't really actually like macaroons? Perhaps it was because I didn't care much for the shop's sterile looking post-modern environment? I'm not sure. However, the music was loud, there was no bathroom on site, and everything was needlessly overpriced. Similarly, there was a relatively small amount of food/snack options, and the seating area was similarly stunted. The upsides? Like any decent caffeine establishment, they provided water with all their coffees. And the coffee! Pretty great! They certainly have quality baristas. I also happened to sit next to some dude who was working on LuxBite's social media strategy; saw him updating their Facebook page and Twitter page. I always approve of zealous new media interaction between producers and customers, so they get some extra points there. Personally, I don't think I'd be back too soon. Their food was too overpriced and limited for me, and having to wait for a seat isn't really something I'm interested in doing. However, for a high quality good coffee, if you're in the area, LuxBite is certainly adequate.

Karen F.

Yelp
Love this little store! I love cakes and lollies so had to try the lolly bag cake of course. It's quite small for $7.50 a slice, but it's worth it. I would have loved to indulge on the $55 full size, but not on my own :) Too naughty. I also tried the peanut butter and jelly macaron for $2.75 each, very different. The owner is very friendly and sweet. I would love to come back again and try their other desserts some day.

Yelp
LuxBite in South Yarra is a superb place to meet people in a modern chic cafe. This is no grungy Melbourne cafe with hipsters but a sleek elegant classy offering that fits the Toorak scene. The owners are experienced pastry chefs who love to try the latest techniques and bring amazing creativity and passion to their craft. They love the culinary scene in Melbourne and certainly bring much creativity and finesse to the table. OMG! Straight to the Meringue Monster. This is a famous creation which features greentea sponge, pistachio, watermelon yoghurt, sour strawberry mousse and meringue. It is so delectable. Even filling. The meringue is treated slightly and delicately with a blow torch to get that colour and taste. The flavour combination and balance of this dessert is amazing. The crunch and flavours of the pistachio combine so well with the softer elements. The inclusion of watermelon along with the stawberry is genius. In fact the stawberry mousse is sour. That green tea sponge is also amazing. Together it is a cacophony of flavour. So much going on here and so brilliant. LuxBite is also a great place to take friends and out of towners if you want to impress. The ambience is just so cool. Sleek and inviting. High ceilings and fashionable white wallpaper. Add to that exposed brick. The chairs are of dark timber and generous. Cool modern decor pieces and floral arrangements. Very chic and very modern. Natural light streams in to Luxbite with large front window and skylights. But there is also great mood lighting aspects with hanging bulbs and spotlights. Immediately you are drawn to the high class displays. The cakes are inviting. These cakes are top notch made with great technique and super fresh. After enjoying the Merangue Monster I want to try more - the Caramel Craving or the LuxBite version of Ferrero Rocher. Or a sublime Eclair or Mile Chocolate Mousse. The options are endless and sophisticated. Staff look smart and sharp here - again this is not grunge. Not even hipster. All around are the Toorak crowd looking glamourous. Every visit to LuxBite feels like a sense of occasion. Sit by the window and enjoy the ambience of Toorak Road. Or sit in the main dining area. Superb ambience. The seats at the desk like table against the wall is also pretty cool. Macaroons are incredible here. Of course you must try the salted caramel. Outside crisp but so chewy on the inside. The presentation is also first class with macaroons served on a red tray. Coffee at LuxBite is also first class. My long mac came served on a chic looking black saucer. What a great experience and air of sophistication. The prices here seem reasonable for such quality. Definitely a keeper.

Joan C.

Yelp
A beautiful pageantry of cakes! Of course the famous lolly cake is a must try. I'll definitely head back here to try the endless love. Enviroment is slow and chillax. Awesome way to start the day. Music sets your mood, the staff is attentive Food is oh so pretty here. Tried the slow braised beef. Is beef supposed to fall of tenderly at a touch? Written like a love song! Didn't take any photos, because I couldn't resist it getting cold. Love it! Come at me world! Nothing can go wrong now!

Miriam S.

Yelp
I love it when places are adventurous enough to try new things, and not just stick to your everyday flavours. LuxBite's desserts are definitely unique, but above all, they're very tasty too. The macaroons are all the rage here, and I can see why. With flavours like Kaya Toast, Kaffir Lime and Mandarin and Saffron, how could you resist? But I had other plans in mind. The Oriental Love macaron beckoned me and I answered the call. It was a huge coconut macaron with pineapple curd, pandan cream, caramelised banana and peanut brittle in the middle. Believe it or not, I could taste every element clearly and they all matched together well. Next the Meringue Monster, with white chocolate sponge and strawberry and watermelon mousse, was just asking to be taken down, and I was the one to do it. My god was it good. I gave it a thumbs up, five stars, and my heart to keep. It was light, creamy and summery in flavour. I guess that comes from the combination of watermelon and strawberries. Was I full after devouring two desserts? You bet I was. But unlike in the past I wasn't put off by my greedy ways, instead I couldn't wait for the next I'd be able to over-do-it at Luxbite. Oh and by the way, they do have a savoury menu too.

Allan B.

Yelp
I can't say much about their food, but second only to Café Cre Asion is Sydney, they have some BOMB macarons! There are the standard flavors, but then some crazy ones like: Watermelon Yoghurt Peanut Butter and Jelly --and my fave!-- Crème brûlée It's a cute little place, but even for take away these are sickeningly delicious! Out of the ordinary flavors [read: better and more interesting than the standard from Lindt] make this a can't-miss.

Daniel P.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of being one of LuxBite's customers from almost the day they opened ... and I keep going back. Top-notch macarons complement stunning and superb desserts, catering for chocoholics, fruit fans and everyone in between. I can't comment on the coffee, but the other beverage fare is good tea, juices, and now some sparkling mineral waters which aren't simply fizzy sugar-water. And their breakfast (and lunch) menu means it's no longer a place just for sweets ... but, of course, you simply must have dessert after you've eaten from their savoury range! Rounding out the experience is lovely ambiance and great service. Do yourself a favour - go.

Mel W.

Yelp
Luxbite has some exotic flavours that you can't find in any other macarons shop. Flavours like "kaya toast" is on the list. It does appeal to both asian and local market. I particularly love their watermelon macaron. Great taste and cute presentation! It is fairly a busy shop and friendly owners too!

Laur H.

Yelp
My dear friend S told me that we had to go to LuxBite for our next date. I hadn't heard of it, but I definitely trust her judgement. As usual, I was glad I did- it was amazing! I heeded her advice, and only had a light breakfast before we went there for lunch and dessert. The way that it works is that you basically build your own breakfast off the menu. I chose: a feta potato cake, garlic roasted field mushroom, roasted herbed tomato and brie, and S chose a feta potato cake, chorizo, avocado with preserved lemon relish, and a poached egg. Each of these ingredients is $2.50, so it's up to you how many or little you choose. Knowing that we were going to have amazing dessert later on, we decided to go light on the lunch. Service was polite and helpful, although our food did take a while to come out. Our lunches looked great when they arrived and were well presented, but I thought they seemed on the small side. Only one [large] mushroom for $2.50? Though I guess, my whole plate of breakfast was only $10, and I would have been happy to pay $12.50 for that with an egg or a piece of toast, which I could have done. Overall, our breakfasts were very good. My mushroom and tomatoes especially were really tasty, and had been infused well with flavours so they weren't boring. We both agreed, though, that the feta potato cake was a bit disappointing- it didn't have a strong feta flavour, or even a strong salty flavour. It just tasted like a little potato cake, and was smaller than we both imagined. I have made feta and potato cakes before that had more flavour to them, so maybe they need to use more seasoning, and bigger chunks of feta, or maybe a stronger cheese like haloumi. Then it was onto the main event: dessert. This place is famed for its macarons, so we were both excited to try them. The dessert cabinet was extremely impressive as you can see. I will let the pictures do the talking, but it's suffice to say that the desserts all looked amazing, and slightly unusual. S decided to have the 'Endless Love': rosewater macaron, lychee ganache, rose cream, and fresh lychee and raspberries; and I got the 'Epic Chocolate Cravings': dark chocolate filling with hazelnut crust and a salted caramel sphere. We each got a coffee as well; their beans are from Toby's Estate. Both desserts were extremely well presented, which I think is important. S said her macaron tasted a bit like eating perfume. I tried it and thought it was pretty nice, but I can see what she was saying. The overall flavour was pretty sweet, and S said she was glad to have her coffee to balance it out. She said that she didn't regret getting it, but would probably try something different next time. Mine, on the other hand, was exactly what I expected, and I wasn't disappointed. The hazelnut base provided a great crunchy texture to the dense filling, which was really welcome. The filling itself was creamy and delicious, and the white chocolate cigar was a nice contrast. I saved the sphere 'til last, and was very pleasantly suprised when the mousse-y filling burst out of the crunchy shell. It was salty and caramelly and delicious- the best part I think. I kind of wish they had put a ribbon of salted caramel through the filling to vary the flavour, and lighten it a bit. I will definitely be getting this again! To top it off, our coffees were good as well. My decaf cap was a lot stronger than S's caffeinated flat white, but both were creamy and well-made. Lastly, we may have bought some macarons to take home. I bought the salted caramel, and the creme brulee, and S got the salted caramel and the passionfruit. Sharing is caring, right? My family were very excited about my macacron purchases, so that's my good deed for the week done. All in all, it was a fantastic visit. The cafe itself is well fit-out, light and bright, and manages to have its own personality. It's in a good location, and we even got a park easily. I was extremely jealous of all the people who lived in the surrounding streets in their cute little terrace houses, and proximity to good macarons. Service was helpful and pleasant, and the prices weren't too expensive in the end: my breakfast, dessert, coffee and 2 macarons was $27. You could easily spend that on just breakfast and a coffee elsewhere. A definite success!

Yelp
I started going to luxbite from the very first time they opened and I've never had anything I don't like! They continue to surprise me I love all three desserts and their delicious macaroons!

Patrick M.

Yelp
There is way to much deliciousness in one place. I've tried the caramel cravings, blue calpis, and the meringue monster. The highlight to date has to be the meringue monster. You must try it!!

Jeffrie T.

Yelp
Very chic rather small cafe .... I would consider this place for their fusion French-Malaysian dessert delights than a serious coffee hangout, although using Toby's Estate product. I notice their tea leaves selection is a must, next time ....

David M.

Yelp
People have been telling me for years that in order to live, let alone survive, you need a sense of balance. Being a hedonist, the scales are heavily tipped to my right and I will both seek out fun and live for the moment whenever I can. This ultimately leads to far too many hangovers and for the most part excessive calorie consumption. In the past I have alluded to the fact that I do attempt to go on very long walks (and recently added the occasional sprint) in order to keep some sort of fitness and also to repress my stomach as I do not want to emulate the appearance of an Oompa Loompa at my ripe and randy young age. In an effort to have some sort of balance, I incorporated my occasional long and meandering 18km wander with a few stops along the way to placate my wayward ways. The first being at LuxBite in South Yarra. Walking to South Yarra from Southbank really isn't a big deal and it is actually quite pleasant on a sunny and warm day. Following the river past the rowers on our beautiful (sic) Yarra River and avoiding cyclists is a breeze and once you follow Punt Road to Toorak Road you will find LuxBite. I was impressed with the very modern, bright and clean fit-out. You are immediately drawn to the desserts that that on display in a glass case, perfectly symmetrical in appearance with mirrors on the perimeter to overwhelm your senses as you are forced to choose if you are that way inclined. It would be just as easy to settle with a tea set for two ($48) which includes two finger sandwiches, two desserts, four macarons and two beverages but I had some other stops planned on this unexpected journey so I wiped the froth from my mouth and the sweat from the back of my neck and opted for some of the tasty desserts; a very attractive raspberry based morsel encased in macarons along with a banana-chocolate-toffee slice. Fortunately I did not have to indulge upon this goodness by myself but it would have been very easy to and also negate the health benefits of the walk however sitting outside with pleasant conversation, a cup of Toby's Estate coffee and watching the world go by with these beautiful desserts in a very relaxed and calm part of South Yarra is quite an indolent way to spend a lazy and late Sunday morning. The journey was not even close to being completed yet either. There is a brunch menu ($15/each) with the highlights being the "LuxBite Pork Bun" 2 Ways - bamboo charcoal brioche bun, pulled pork, kimchi, house-made pork jerky and Kewpie but also the heart-killing "Cheese Fondue" which takes about fifteen minutes to prepare. If you are able to avoid the desserts, which is probably an impossible feat, the cheery service will happily serve you an egg on toast ($7.50) and throw in a few extras like roasted tomato or bacon for an additional $2.50/each. Stop around to browse, indulge or just have a good coffee and whittle your day away.

Yelp
OMG! I still can't believe how I was spoken to! I tried to organise a macaroon tower for my wedding day slightly different to the norm as I wanted my cake to be perfect. When it come to the taste testing date the person I was dealing with was rude and argued with me over a macaroon tasting session booked two weeks prior. I suggest, if you are considering ordering a wedding cake etc from this store to look elsewhere, particularly if you want a positive experience dealing with a business.

Yelp
The place to go when you want something sweet! Their signature macaroons are some of the best in Melbourne, and their range of desserts and cakes is varied and delicious. Top it off with consistently decent coffee, and you've got the perfect afternoon hangout.
