Nestled in a nondescript Hollywood strip mall, this casual Thai spot serves up explosive Southern Thai flavors, especially the must-try crab curry and jade noodles.
"Known for its Thai cuisine, favored by Rebecca Roland." - Eater Staff
"It can be intimidating going to a Thai restaurant with a menu as hefty as a Lord of the Rings book, but Luv2Eat Thai takes out all of the guesswork with its GF-notated menu and a surprisingly long list of options that use GF-soy sauce. If you’re a glutton for spice, go with the inferno-like Phuket crab curry (or the grilled marinated pork skewers and roasted duck rice with garlic-soy gravy for something milder)." - jean trinh 1, garrett snyder
"We love to eat at Luv2Eat, so much that it’s one of our top-rated restaurants. Now, we have another reason to frequent its Hollywood strip mall because the owners just opened a fast-casual concept next door, Luv2Eat Express. The sibling restaurant features steam table curries and stir-fries available as plates with jasmine rice, including moo hong (Phuket-style braised pork belly) and yellow sour fish curry. There are a couple of noodle soups on the menu, too. We recently visited Luv2Eat Express and added it to the Hit List." - sylvio martins
"We wouldn’t fault you for assuming Luv2Eat Express was just a takeout version of its famous sibling in the same strip mall. We kind of did. But then we swung by this tiny steam table spot in Hollywood and realized it’s a different concept altogether, serving homey Southern Thai curries and stir-fries you won’t find elsewhere. Ordering is done cafeteria-style: pick a combo plate ($18 for three dishes with jasmine rice is a perfect lunch) then choose from a dozen options like Phuket braised pork belly, sour yellow curry with bamboo, and tamarind-glazed fish cakes. Every dish is incredibly flavorful, and often, incredibly spicy. So much so that they put a flaming “caution of spiciness” sign out front to warn customers. Proceed accordingly, and grab a black thai iced tea from the cooler in case of emergency." - brant cox, sylvio martins, jess basser sanders
