In my spiritual journey to try all the best rotisserie chicken in NYC, Lula Bird was a name that kept coming up in my comments, so I made the push to Crown Heights to check it out. They are the self proclaimed best rotisserie chicken in Brooklyn, so my expectations were through the roof. I was slightly perturbed when I arrived, as it’s only takeout, so my ass was out in the cold. But that’s on me. I should have done my research. I got the half chicken and 2 sides for $21.75, which was pretty steep tbh. Market rate for a half chicken and 2 sides is $15-19, but they threw in some homemade cornbread that went crazy so it shut me up. I’d come here just for the cornbread. The chicken skin was ELITE. A Perfect little char on it, seasoned so well. It’s my favorite skin I’ve had in the city. The meat however, left a bit to be desired. Didn’t fall off the bone and was just a bit stringy/rough. It was good, just not great. I’ve had some amazing rotisserie chicken over the past year, so I’m a little jaded. I also may have just caught them on a bad day, it happens. The Peruvian green sauce they provided was fantastic. I was spilling it all over myself like a little chunkster. Bury me in Peruvian green sauce. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Pretty darn good! The half chicken combo is great. It comes with two sides plus a corn bread. I'm not usually a big fan of brussels sprouts but this was an exception. It was seasoned well & roasted to perfection. I have heard the short ribs is a hit but I have yet to try it. The corn bread was a little too sweet for my liking but still good. Definitely coming back!

Lula Bird is like another reviewer mentioned, just okay. I have tried them a handful of times to properly assess and these are my takeaways. The rotisserie chicken isn't particularly spiced well and the portion is tiny for the price point AND because they play 'roulette' with the side offerings, you have to know when the items that you would like to have paired with the order will be available. Often times there is one side you would like to try, but it isn't the right day and is thus not available. I have tried their mac and cheese (avail on Sun. & Tues.) , which I didn't find to be very good. Mac & Cheese is such a controversial dish in it's own right, but their's seems to be roux based and the taste of flour was too prominent. and I was missing the cheese all together. It also had toasted breadcrumbs on top, which would have been fine, but it tasted like they just toasted the breadcrumbs and the actually mac and cheese below wasn't part of the baking process. I appreciate that their collard greens are not super vinegar forward, something lots of places get wrong, but it wasn't anything to write home about. The latter can also be said of the brussel sprouts, which actually used to be better in the past but have since changed. I love eggplant and decided to try it since it was available the day of ordering. I called the restaurant to inquire how it was prepared and a simple question like that could not be answered by the employee who answered the phone, nor the chef that he handed the phone off too. Despite the eggplant being described as being prepared in a 'szechuan' style, the szechuan eggplant didn't give any element of spice and was so disgustingly mushy that it went in the trash. Most ppl mess up eggplant because they don't realize that it is a water springing vegetable that requires a bit of a salt brine to take out some of that moisture. Their rice is also nothing special. It was a bit overcooked and consists of onion and tomato, the latter a wet ingredient that added a bit to the mush. It reminds me a bit on how Thai fried rices are also prepared. The real star of the show are their roasted potatoes. They are salted, spiced and roasted to perfection. I have no notes. The cornbread is also an item that may cause some controversy. I like it enough. A bit bland, so I usually pop some butter on it and melt it since it always seems to be lacking a bit of salt. For those who prefer a less dense take on this southern side OR do no like corn in their cornbread, this version is not for you. I have also had their tiramisu. The flavor is good and I can tell that lady fingers have been soaked properly to evoke the coffee flavor intended, but unfortunately the ratio of lady fingers to marscapone is way off, so the dessert is unbalanced and consists of mostly the creme. They are not close by so I ate the $5 delivery fee plus other upcharges, but I find no reason to do so anymore given my experience and this food case study wrap up.

If you love herbaceous, flavorful, perfectly seasoned chicken and sides, then this is the restaurant for you! One of my favorite finds in Brooklyn and is surely a staple if you’re in the area. I order once a week at least and try to time it around my favorite sides. They rotate special sides that are easy to taste how each one they care about. Also their cornbread is out of this world! I’m trying to figure out the spice combination on the chicken that gives it such an amazing flavor while also feeling clean on the pallete. The potatoes are the must have go to and if you’re in on a Friday, I recommend the CousCous. Another entree that will blow you away is their short rib! The flavor in one serving with vegetables soaked in the drippings is heavenly! Only downfall is there’s been no seating, so you have to take it home. But honestly it’s so good you’ll walk to their nearest bench to indulge without the wait! It’s that kind of good that you can’t wait to get home 😋

I feel very sad that I didn’t find this place sooner. Insanely delicious food. The cornbread is one of those things you taste and are literally transported elsewhere. The veggie terrine is also delicious. And highly highly recommend the root veggies and okra and sweet potatoes and collared greens!

Great greens! Extremely tender Braised short ribs! This restaurant is always fresh, always consistent and with quick delivery. Wish they had macaroni and cheese more often.

I’m not sure why it took me 5 years to come here. I’m annoyed with myself! What a perfect healthy quick dinner option! Flavors of everything was delicious. It kinda tasted like thanksgiving minus the sweet potato pie. Def recommend this place if you just want a yummy filling easy healthy dinner option. Pricing is great. Chicken and Roast were both heaven. 10/10 will be back :)

Oh my god I ate it too quick to take a pic but the chicken, potatoes, and string beans were all phenomenal. Green sauce as well. Can’t wait to go back

Yelp
6oz short rib was VERY satisfying. Probably more than 6oz but I left my scale at home. This was braised perfectly in a beautiful complex broth which was peppery but not overpoweringly so along with bay leaf and maybe onions and garlic. The stew veggies on the side were unexpected and succulent. THE CORN BREAD! Worth coming HERE for THAT alone. Crispy crunchy moist crust with plenty of real kernels of corn. Nice and dense, is it a cake? Is it bread? Who cares...?!! It's scrumptious!! Collard Greens were on point. The right combination of vinegar and some fatback in EVERY FORKFUL. I drank the juice. Quinoa salad nicely done if you're looking for a healthy side. I'd come to Brooklyn from Westchester for this meal again. Some places just GET IT RIGHT. Also, I was injured and needed to eat something and the very caring woman who answered the phone, brought it out to my car. If you like the real deal, COME HERE.

Yelp
Ordered twice on door dash and on different days (Sat & Tues) If you prefer less seasoned dishes this isn't the place for you. They don't skimp on the salt and pepper. I personally prefer well seasoned dishes, so I'm happy with the seasoning. The potatoes are great, the flavor profile is delicious. I just wish they had a crispier texture on the outside then they do them. I also had the rooted veggies on Saturday and those were great. Brussels sprouts on Tuesday were ok but not the best I've had. They aren't super spicy but do have a little kick fyi. Chicken is well seasoned and moist. Not the best I've ever had but also I wouldn't call it mid either. Cornbread is really delicious and perfectly sweet and moist. I'm from the south so I know my cornbread. This is the best cornbread I've had in nyc... they tend to be very dry here. Tiramisu is a flavor explosion on the ladyfingers portion. They soak it good and it is still wet. Love that. As someone else mentioned the cream portion of it is a little too heavy handed. Still absolutely delicious. The sauces. I've tried them all and they all are very different and none were bad. Harissa is definitely spicy. The Peruvian green is my favorite by far, it has a lot of flavor and just enough spice. I'd say that the curry sauce was my second favorite. Taziki was like any other taziki, good but probably my least favorite of the sauces.

Yelp
Hate to say I forgot to take a photo of my food, but alas it happens. Also, I know this is a chicken spot, but I didn't even order chicken. Nonetheless, very much enjoyed the food from here! Ordered takeout with a friend and I wasn't too hungry so just ordered the 6 oz. beef short rib and had a piece of cornbread. It was so good. Very fast service so perfect for delivery or if you need to grab food on the way home. The meat was very tender, juicy and flavorful, and the best part was it didn't have too much fat on it. Nothing is worse than ordering meat with clumps of fat, truly. I'm not a huge cornbread girl but this was delicious. Cake-like and moist in the center, but still crumbly and crisp on the edges! My friend raves about the chicken and mac n cheese so I see myself here in the near future to try it out. Note that the sides rotate out by day of the week!

Yelp
*This review is based on an Uber Eats Order* Delivery- 5/5 Although you order through Uber Eats, someone from Lula Bird will deliver your order. They will text you from their system to let you know the order has been received. You also get text updates when the driver is on the way and have the option to track your delivery on a map. Food- 5/5 Someone recommended this place to me and I tried it awhile back. So happy I randomly decided to order from them again tonight! I ordered the half chicken and short ribs combos. Each order came with a piece of cornbread, two sides and a dipping sauce. For sides I got quinoa, roasted potatoes , butternut squash (Saturday Special) and the Black Beans and Kale (Saturday Special). Everything was delicious. The chicken was moist, nicely seasoned and had a nice crispy skin. The short rib was tender and wasn't fatty. Once you add the spicy green dipping sauce, your mouth will do a happy dance. The quinoa and black beans w/ kale were my favorite sides. Some of their sides rotate throughout the week so be mindful of that when you are ordering. They do a good job at indicating which sides are available on which day on Uber Eats. I'm not a fan of everyone's cornbread but this one is good and has whole corn inside! My cornbread was a little overcooked for my liking but other than that I have no complaints. If you're looking for a healthier option to try when ordering out I would recommend checking them out. Adding to my list of places to try in person.

Yelp
Lula Bird is crazy delicious. I've ordered the Lula Bird bowl which was absolutely delicious and super filling. I've also ordered the combo and had the broccoli and the sweet potatoes. Okay, but the cornbread is...there are no words. The green sauce is also a magic tasty delight to drizzle all over the chicken. What I love is that each dish is perfectly seasoned, delicious, but also super clean and healthy. As someone who mostly cooks at home, Lula Bird is the closest I've cooked to eating home cooked whole food, prepared by someone else. Delivery is always on time and whomever is managing is on top of their business because when we had an issue with Grubhub the restaurant called right away and addressed the issue. Thank you, Lula Bird!

Yelp
Who can say no to a rotisserie chicken and delicious sides? Not this family! We keep going back because the sides change daily, but you really can't go wrong- and always get extra cornbread...trust me.

Marie T.

Yelp
I must admit my cravings are always triggered by something I had the night before, and it's no different for me wanting tasty rotisserie chicken and cornbread. 3/4 times I've had the rotisserie chicken it was good, but one night I ordered it and it was stringy and tough. I was so mad because I really was looking forward to it. Hopefully, the next time I order it will be back to what I fell in love with (moist, well seasoned deliciousness). Cornbread: is to die for. I often contemplate if I should just place an order for only cornbread. It moist with a hint of sweetness and pieces of corn. It was love at 1st bite. The sides are ok, nothing to go crazy over. I do love the brussel sprouts though.

Kia W.

Yelp
I ordered from Doordash and this food was a huge disappointment. The mac and cheese should be called macaroni and breadcrumbs because there was hardly any cheese. It was a large serving of flavorless pasta. The cornbread has the texture of corn pudding/bread pudding, which I usually like. But I received a burned inedible end piece. That got tossed in the trash with the mac and breadcrumbs. The meal was served in a cardboard container so it all was a soggy mess. Yuk! The brussels sprouts was the best thing I ordered. The dark piece of chicken was small and mostly bone. Maybe it was an off night but I'm thoroughly uninspired to eat here again. I'm so glad I had a discount because it was not worth $40 and I was still hungry afterwards because I barely ate the meal.

Hungry S.

Yelp
It was OK. I always judge a place on the fact of if I would go back. I probably won't. I ordered the dark meat, but when I got home it was a wing and a breast. So the order was wrong. In turn, I paid about $17 and change for 1/4 a chicken, rice, broccoli, and I know there are a lot better deals around, and I was not too crazy for it. Hey, I work hard for money, and so hard for it honey......soooooo Lula won't be seeing me again.

Shellie T.

Yelp
First time trying this place. Quick and tasty! Big portion sizes. The jalapeño sauce is awesome. Brussels are perfectly cooked.

Johanna B.

Yelp
Thanks to Doordash, I was able to try the "best Rotisserie chicken in Brooklyn" known as Lula Bird. It has been several years since I eliminated eating red meat, but I do enjoy chicken, especially Rotisserie style. After reading all the positive reviews on Yelp, I knew I had to try it. After all, who doesn't like chicken with 2 sides and cornbread!?!?! The Doordash process, preparation, timeliness and delivery of the order was excellent. I decided to go with the combo #2 which was half chicken with 2 sides and cornbread. In addition to the permanent sides, there were also daily ones to choose from. Lastly, a choice of 4 dipping sauces: Harissa, Peruvian, Peanut and Tzastziki. My order was the half chicken, garlic roasted potatoes, butternut squash (Saturday special) with cornbread. Sauce--Harissa and Peruvian. An extra sauce is just $0.75. It arrived promptly, well packed ( environmental friendly containers) and warm. The delivery person was also very courteous. When I opened the carton, the portion size ($19) was generous and the aroma was prominent /fragrant. Verdict? I thought it was really good but also quite salty. If the salt level was taken down a few notches, it would have been perfect. I really enjoyed the sides and the chicken was cooked just right. And although I'm all about herbs and spices, I think there was a bit too much on the chicken overall. The cornbread was delicious--buttery and moist. And I loved the dipping sauces! Overall, it was good comfort food--just wish it were less seasoned.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Ordered through UberEats. Fastest delivery ever. The chicken was good, but I had to remove the salty skin. The green sauce is delicious!! We have the potatoes, they were ok. The rice is good. I didn't care for the cole slaw much, but the vinegar was too much for me and my family. The winner for me was the corn bread and the butternut squash. Loved it. Not sure if I would order again, but it's not bad.

Xenia M.

Yelp
Everything at Lula Bird from the speed of delivery to the quality of the food deserves 5 stars! I ordered the combo #2 with an extra side of cornbread. My food arrived in 20 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise. This typically never happens with takeout, but I guess DoorDash was on my side! The chicken was well seasoned, had crispy skin, and great flavor! I choose the Peruvian green sauce which compliments the chicken very well. The cornbread was the star of the show! It was moist and buttery and warm. I ended up ordering extra, which I'm glad I did! Overall the food here is great quality! I'll definitely be adding this to my rotation of places for takeout!

Shanna K.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I both ordered the Combo # 1, chicken with white meat. My sides were the coleslaw and roasted potatoes, his were the collard greens and macaroni and cheese. He didn't get his side of cornbread. Being a fan of coleslaw I dove for that first and I was quite disappointed. Where is the mayo!? It was super acidic (would be great on a sloppy joe but not as a side to this meal). The mac n cheese is decent, not amazing, not cheesy, but I don't hate it. I feel like since they use so little cheese, they should choose one with more flavor. It's bland and we had to add salt and pepper. The CORNBREAD. Get. The. Cornbread. It's a damn shame my boyfriend didn't get his because I did NOT wanna share mine. It was actually moist! I'm so used to dry cornbread, so this one was such a treat! The chicken is pretty good, well seasoned with herbs and a good amount of salt. If chicken is your specialty at home then this will be decent. It is well cooked and not dry. The roasted potatoes were flavorful but not crispy. The collards were pretty good, not too salty or greasy and they have bacon. Overall I would recommend this place and will totally order from here again. It's perfect for a nice home-cooked style meal when you're too busy on a week night!

Yelp
Honestly Please Somebody Test this Chicken if you don't believe me .. it's Not Good and idk what they put in this Chicken or cooked it with but the Whole House had a Stomach Pains .. all 5 of us Ate this Garbage that day / night please check this Chicken before eating it. Ordering from here was even Problematic and if I was able to I'd Vote to have them shut down immediately. Because people pay to much money for this Food for them to Cut Corners. Ambiance is shaky.. the place is very small you have to order to go..

Amanda S.

Yelp
Lula Bird's food is always 10/10! I've found them to be good value for the price. I always go for the specialty sides and they're all delicious. Everything is very flavorful, fresh, and never dry. The green sauce is delicious and their cornbread is truly the best I've ever had -- always order extra!

Shirrell H.

Yelp
I've been watching this place for a while. The pictures on yelp doesn't do this place any justice. I am a Brussels sprouts fanatic and this place came all the way through. It was soooooo good. Unfortunately they only have it available on Tuesdays under UBEREATS. Im not sure in the store. I had the dark meat quarter chicken and that with the green sauce was crack! It was very well seasoned and full with flavor. Now the cornbread was a surprise. I mean my yelpers put me on to it before had but I wasn't ready. It was different in a great way. The only disappointment was the mac n cheese. I'm accustomed to my west Indian mac pie and I'm ok with southern mac n cheese but theirs lacked alot. Either way it wasn't terrible. It just wasn't great. Lula you get 2 thumbs up.

Ashley W.

Yelp
My dad and I went here last Wednesday and we loved it. Please note two things: they have different sides everyday and it is only Pick-Up or Delivery. They are super fast. We order and the food was ready in 15 minutes. Since it was a Wednesday the sides that were available were roasted potatoes and collard greens both were really good. The rice was okay. The chicken was good and great the next day. I am also still thinking about there cornbread.

Jessie H.

Yelp
I ordered in Lula a few weeks ago and it was A-OK. I ordered the Whole bird meal with cornbread and two sides and chose the fried cauliflower and collard greens (with bacon!) I also ordered a side of their coleslaw. The sides were GREAT. The coleslaw was particularly delicious, and a pleasant surprise for a Mayo hater like myself. I also really, really enjoyed the cauliflower and was impressed that they were able to get it so crispy without it getting soggy during transport. The chicken was yummy and well cooked (super moist) but SO incredibly salty that I couldn't have more than a bite or two without scraping off all of the seasoning. Now, I LOVE salt, but this was excessive. I could feel my blood pressure rising, for sure! While the portions for the sides were generous, the whole chicken was the tiniest bird I've ever seen and it was EXPENSIVE. I might order from here again, but will continue my search for better, more reasonably priced rotisserie chicken.

Joseph S.

Yelp
I use to love this place and would frequent them 2 to 3 times a week but lately I notice the chicken be cold and I hate eating cold food and the chicken use to be moist and juicy, now it taste old like it's been sitting there for a while and I also notice the chicken be laced with sodium and the texture is off, I had a horrible headache after eating it which tells me it's pumped up with sodium so that it will last longer, I am extremely disappointed and I don't like leaving negative reviews but if you have high blood pressure be careful because the chicken is laced with sodium

Vicky T.

Yelp
We ordered dinner from this place based on the Uber Eats 'Best Overall' rating and the food was awful. The whole chicken was tough and chewy, the dressing and spices across all the sides, root vegetables, coleslaw, rice was terrible and had a bad aftertaste. Everything looked as if it had sat there all day.

Paige K.

Yelp
This food is BOMB, the prices are GREAT, the portions are LARGE. Literally do not how or why anyone could complain. It's SO GOOD. The chicken is absolutely delicious - I just wish they gave you the option to only have dark meat because chicken breast, when compared to dark meat, is nowhere near as flavorful. That chicken is literally finger licking good. The collard greens are too, and the cornbread is delicious. The cornbread hits every time. The Mac and cheese is alright - creamy and cheesy as it should be but could use more sharp cheddar to bring out the flavor.

Brandon A.

Yelp
I've heard two friends talk about this place for quite some time, particularly speaking about the cornbread. It became a weekly staple for one friend, yet I still wasn't up to trying it yet. I had a chance to finally try Lula Bird about a week ago and man... this place was DAMN GOOD! For my first meal from LB, I went with the quarter combo (white meat) and chose potatoes and greens as my side, and of course received my piece of cornbread. The chicken was so moist and juicy, seasoned perfectly. I mean, my God. You can taste how well seasoned it is with each bite, even those more center-located pieces that don't always get seasoning... it was seasoned. For those of you saying it's "salty," I highly beg to differ and encourage you to try seasoning your own meals more often. As for the sides, they were seasoned perfectly just like the chicken. The potatoes were perfectly done and had a nice crisp to them. The greens just about melted in my mouth with each bite. And the cornbread? A 1:1 chunk of insanity. It's not like JIFFY cornbread with a gritty texture... no, no, no... this is cool cornbread that wears sunglasses and is almost like a bread pudding... with mashed corn inside of it. This meal was nothing short of an experience and I can't wait to make Lula Bird my go-to for future dinners and gatherings. I forgot to take photos, but I'll remember next time for sure. Maybe one day soon they'll allow for indoor dining--the food was so good, I want to spend time with these folks, y'all.

Yelp
Only have ordered through delivery but that further proves how yummy this place is! Their chicken is so flavorful but to me the star is the braised short ribs! So tender & the carrots/celery that come with it just melt in your mouth! Their cornbread is one of my favorite I've tried in a long time, nice and sweet with a good amount of corn taste! Most of the sides I've tried are delicious as well, their Mac + cheese could be more flavorful but their potatoes with green spicy sauce is magical! Overall everything just tastes like you went over to someone's mom's house & they just whipped you up supper! Really recommend!

Jacob R.

Yelp
Bomb. The chicken combo w/ cornbread and 2 sides is $14.50 for a really generous portion. Initially I was disappointed they only give one piece of chicken, but it was so juicy and had so much meat I almost couldn't finish it - it definitely could be eaten as 2 meals. It has a really well seasoned, light crisped skin that tastes so good dipped in their green sauce. I got the roasted potatoes and rice as my sides and they were great as well. I definitely recommend trying this spot out.

Lilah M.

Yelp
This place is delicious- anyone saying it's bland, I really don't get it. The chicken is so seasoned and super juicy. I've ordered take out maybe seven times from here and it's always solid. Do yourself a favor and get extra cornbread. Put on stretchy pants, or take off your pants, whatever works, and just eat like six pieces of it and live your life to the fullest.

Maddie B.

Yelp
My partner and I always order directly from Lula Bird; their food is so comforting! We usually get the whole chicken with corn bread and cole slaw (sometimes with greens and/or mac and cheese as well). In terms of sauce, we always get the Peruvian green sauce, which never disappoints. They usually deliver pretty quickly and they're super friendly and helpful. This is a great option if you're looking to order in but still have a substantial and hearty meal. We love Lula Bird!

Chey O.

Yelp
When you think of a comfort meal, what do you think of? Obviously, roasted chicken! Let me tell you, if you're looking for a comfort meal that will make you feel extra cosy, eat here. Since we're living in weird COVID times, you're in luck. It is incredibly easy to get a delicious meal here. You can order via the typical delivery app methods. Or if you're in the neighborhood, they also have an order window that makes it super easy to walk up, order, and be on your way to 100% food coma. The roasted chicken is so well seasoned. And you can get it with equally delicious sides in a combo. From spicy brussels sprouts to mac & cheese to roasted eggplant, you really have your choice. The cool thing is, they only have certain sides on certain days of the week -- so choose wisely! But seriously, for only about $15, you can have a full meal full of comfort and flavor w/ a side a cornbread (GET THE CORNBREAD). PS: the short ribs are *very* good too.

Jabari B.

Yelp
Lula Bird is SOLID. If you're looking for a standard chicken dinner you really can't go wrong here. The meals are very straightforward. The food is flavorful, fresh, and you can taste that it's made with love I've gone a few times and needed just a pinch of salt on the side dishes, but I think they do this purposefully...for sensitive palates and dietary restrictions. Not a big deal, just something I've noticed. I used to live in the neighborhood and am upset with myself for not going more regularly. In my final few weeks in Crown Heights I visited Lula Bird on a Saturday. Now, this is important because they serve consistent sides that are always available but then there are 2 sides that are special to that day. On Saturdays they offer roasted butternut squash and stewed black beans (with kale I believe) and OH. MY. GOSH! These are hands down the best sides on the menu. So flavorful. So delicious. I went for lunch and wanted to go back again for dinner. The food in the photo comes out to less than $15 and it is a very heart meal. Quick service. Great (CONSISTENT) food. Very reasonably priced. Not a show stopping dining experience, but exactly what you need when you know you want something good. Keep up the good work, Lula Team! Overall - B+ #outtoeatwithJB

Yelp
I have heard good things about this place and wanted to give it a try. This is the first and definitely last time I will. I should have known when my food arrived really fast. Like it had been sitting around all day and upon getting my order threw it in a bag. Who complains about getting their delivery quickly? Normally, I would not. Once I opened the bag in anticipation and was sadly underwhelmed and disappointed, I had to say something. The mac and cheese consisted of watering noodles that barely had cheese. The short rib was tender but was a weird cut. Just a small hunk of meat amongst the elbow noodles. Bizarre. Perhaps it was a bad day because the food I received was absolutely terrible. The cornbread was interesting to say the most.

Yelp
The chicken was fine, not bad but a bit on the tough side, and they forgot one our sides.

Yelp
Eh I had better expectations for my palate this evening. I'm not saying the chIcken and the flavor wasn't good it was great! However I feel like totally jipped because I could've went to I could've went to Foodtown I got a rotisserie chicken for $6.99 they taste very similar. And the salad I got for $10.50 was a total rip off amazing with these prices. However nonetheless I always want to try it I read the reviews before but I won't be going back for the $18 chicken & they have similar or same as a grocery store rotisserie in a cooler bag that makes no sense to me lol

Yelp
Food is always on point. Great portion size. The chicken and the braised beef are our favorites. The cornbread is to die for. Definitely a go to spot. There is a good variety.

Yelp
what hoppen this was a great spot to order delivery through most of the pandemic. a "fancy boston market" i callled it. now the price is up by 50% and the quality down by the same. freshly cooked is now generally served sludgy and oily. i used to like their food even the harissa sauce went bad. harissa sauce!!

Yelp
OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The short rib combo (Short ribs are not fatty, plentiful, juicy, and delicious) on a Saturday!!! That means kale and beans as well as roasted butternut squash!!! Add the ridiculously delicious cornbread! !Insert heart emoji! LORD HAVE MERCY. I am extremely grateful for that food coma. Thank you Lula Bird. Thank you. I need that sustenance. My body and my taste buds thank you. PS: This was take out and it was awesome.

Yelp
I came 20 minutes after opening time, the gate was half opened but door closed. After waiting 10min, a employee entered, I asked if they were open and he responded rudely "don't you see the closed gate?" I asked about the opening time, he said today was special and wouldn't open until 2 or 4 pm. There was no sign about it.

Yelp
Have only had Lula Bird for takeout but it's been great every time. The chicken has been moist (albeit salty so watch out for that) each time, and the sides are generally really good. I especially enjoyed their broccoli side, which is available on Thursday. Their cornbread feels like a sin to eat because of how tasty they make it. Great neighborhood spot, it's not somewhere you would go to eg celebrate a promotion or on a date, but would definitely wholeheartedly recommend it for a weekday meal!

Yelp
Honestly, this place excels in everything they make. The chicken is SO juicy and flavorful. Every side I've had is fantastic. Some of my favorites are: the potatoes -- these are so tasty and crispy, the mac and cheese -- so cheesy and have a crunchy breadcrumb topping, the collard greens -- tangy and yummy, the Israeli couscous, and lastly the buttermilk fried cauliflower -- this one was shocking... it is SO crispy and the breading is extremely flavorful! Also the cornbread that comes with most meals is out of this world. It is sweet and moist, almost like a cake!! This place is a special one!

Yelp
The food was flavorful. I ordered the quarter white meat which it was tender, juicy, and well seasoned. Sides could use some consistency- I wish some of the week day specific options were available. I ordered kale stew (Saturday)and collards, but all in all they were good. Spent another $6 for cornbread to balance out the texture. We will be back.

Yelp
The food is amazing! I had the vegetarian combo with collard greens and Mac and cheese and they had a tempi tower with different vegetables. The cornbread is sweet and tasty! The red lentil soup is spicy but good! Highly recommend! I will def be going back.

Yelp
Since we've moved to Brooklyn we've ordered delivery from Lula Bird more than any other restaurant. Seriously, I consider myself a rotisserie chicken connoisseur. I go through great lengths to sample a good bird. Lula is among the best in the city, and I don't say that lightly at all. The taste profile doesn't knock you out at first, but their well seasoned version, combined with a decidedly, less soft, more natural chicken texture, is what has me coming back again and again (and again and...). The other side of the coin is their sides, and more specifically their greens, corn bread, etc. I'm from the south so you can imagine how chicken, greens, and corn bread makes me feel (if you answered "happy", you're correct). Don't sleep on that short rib either... Either way, everyone deserves to have a little Lula Bird in their life.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from Caviar. I'm fat, so I got the whole bird meal combo. you get your choice of two sides and sauce (it also comes with two pieces of cornbread). For my sides, I opted for the quinoa salad and roasted potatoes (both good). The Peruvian green sauce is kind of like an aji sauce, but not spicy at all. The bird itself came in this foil-lined bag on a tray, which was pretty ingenious. Roasted very nicely. Lot of sumac in the spice mix. Definitely worth trying!

Yelp
Ordered takeout from here and had a generally good experience. The delivery was a bit behind schedule but only by about five minutes. When the food arrives, things were not piping hot but they were still warm and in good shape. I appreciated that most of the food was packed in paper containers. The chicken we ordered was fantastic. Very flavorful and the green sauce was everything it should be for rotisserie chicken. The quinoa salad was not very good - there was nothing exceptional and there was no strong flavor in the salad. Additionally we got the short rib sandwich which was wonderfully done but needed just a little more sauce. The cornbread was very sweet but totally delicious. We also got the fried cauliflower which was super flavorful and would certainly order again. Overall a good experience and would be back for some menu items but skip on others.

Yelp
So glad I ordered. Eveyone was right about the cornbread! Get the cornbread. I ordered on a Friday night via uber eats: combo 1 with dark meat, collard greens, riasted potatoes, harissa sauce and the green sauce. No pictures because I ate every piece lol. Would definitely order again may try the short rib next with the rice.

Yelp
I was so disappointed with this meal. I thought I was going to have as fresh, healthy, tasty and boy was I disappointed. Now I did see the negative reviews but I decided to give them a chance. I ordered the quarter chicken with 2 sides which were The fried cauliflower and the quinoa and a portion of cornbread. The fried cauliflower was horrendous. It was super soggy. Quinoa was okay-- a bit on the dry side. The cornbread was tasty which was the best part of the whole meal. The chicken was tasty but I was surprised at how salty it was. For half the price, I could've just ordered from my local Dominican spot. Maybe it was a fluke? Idk but not ordering again. Sincerely Disappointed Fried Cauliflower fan.

Yelp
Casual rotisserie place where you generally pick up your food to go. There are a few tables if you want to dine in. Very friendly staff. Short menu consisting of two choices of meat (chicken or beef) and sides mostly carbs (rice quinoa, roasted potatoes etc) and a few greens (collard, cauliflower). We ordered two combo deals one with chicken and the other short rib. Both come with a cornbread and two sides. Ranking: -Their cornbread is popping! Moist, seasoned with a few kernels inside. I would definitely come back just for that. Sidenote, verify you get exactly what you ordered before leaving. We sadly found out later that we only got one instead of two. -Rotisserie chicken is well seasoned and moist. Good portion size. -Quiona salad was a great side. They constructed theirs with chickpeas and other vegetables. Still lightweight and flavorful. -Short ribs were good, a bit tough but still delicious -I found the rice to be very good, a bit on the mushy side. -Cauliflower. For veggies good option. -Coleslaw. The only other green option at the time we ordered. I wish they expended their menu to include more green sides. -
