The Cauliflower Queso Tacos were just as tasty, and the salsa bar? Absolute gold. The salsas are free, unlimited, and ridiculously good. Staff is friendly and order came in fast. 4 stars coz there aren't a ton of vegetarian options, but what they do have is so flavorful. If you're down for a chill spot with great food and a lot of personality, this place is a total win.

Being from out of town, my first time I came was in 2015 and I loved it. Today, I'm back for my second time and the food was still great! Congrats on celebrating 17 years! I hope you have 17 more years of awesomeness!!

This place is becoming exceedingly more expensive every time I come here. $21 for a burrito and a side of chips? Wtf? Not to mention they took away the soda fountain so now you are forced to buy a bottled drink for more money and get no refills. As for what really prompted this review, it was over a bag of freakin chips! Usually they give you a tiny bag (maybe 10-15 chips inside) for free BUT as I was informed this morning, that doesn't apply during breakfast hours lol. How I know that is because I paid $1.50 extra for a bigger size (picture attached of what you get for $1.50 which is pathetic) and when i didn't receive it and asked for my chips, the lady behind the counter told me that. Mind you, I didn't even order breakfast and it was sometime between 10:25 - 10:35. Fyi, "breakfast" ends at 10:30. Moral of the story, come at 10:31 to get free chips. You can do better Lucha libre...

Hard to find parking nearby but yes it’s worth checking out if you’re interested in good tacos. I would not go out of my way for this as San Diego just has so many good taco options. They’re all good options, so just depends on your mood. Has an interesting ambiance, hole in the wall feel tries to meet chic.

GOOOO! Oh my gawd! The food was so good. The tacos are bigger than your usual traditional tacos. A nice portion. They are sold singles. Which I did not mind I like to pick and choose. I ordered the pollito porky and surf&turf taco. My friend had the surf&turf burrito. Everyone who came in kept order this burrito. I also had the TJ corn which is basically elote off the Cobb. Atmosphere was amazing and decor is cute. Great theme and paying homage. Wrestler lovers obvi would like this. Go and see for yourself. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Also they have a salsa bar!! hello?! What more is there to ask for? GO!

I've seen this franchise around north county and I finally made my way to try them out. Went on Memorial Day and there was space outside for my party of 6. Food came out on time and was great, the vibe is cute, and service was quick. Def would try the other locations out.

Let me tell you once in a while, I just need that seafood blackened mahi burrito that one can only get here!(I think) No pics of them, I didn't wanna show the bite marks... I've honestly been stuck on this menu item for years, even when they had the satellite location at Sycuan casino that eventually shut down. Don't get me wrong, I have had other items for sure. Just hard to steer clear of that burrito. Tacos of all types, as they are super innovative here. Rolled tacos are very tasty I do recall. I do remember a TJ hot dog that vanished off the menu a while back, which I loved. Shoot. These times they are a changin' but we can gotta get used to change right? For sure, still many creative items on menu to be had. They have been an icon at many events too. Definitely have to acknowledge them as one of the pioneers of new age style taco shops, and the idea has been copied now at many places. But not the wrestling idea, they have this locked down here, with the movie posters that line the walls too and golden booth that you apparently need to reserve in advance. Seems to me, lucha fans young and old, I'm sure would enjoy this!

Great street tacos! I would go here mainly for these. I'm a San Diego native and I go here regularly!

Tacos, burritos, nachos and more. You order at either the entrance on the screen or with a human at the register. Either way, you'll get a number and they will bring out your food. I had the birria nachos. I would have appreciated more melted cheese, but it did have enough toppings. This is my second time trying birria and I have to admit that I don't like it. Nothing against the restaurant because that's all me. The salsa bar has a few types of salsas, pickled onions. Chips are given to you on request. Parking: limited on site, but next to the liquor store, they have additional parking shared with the other businesses. They do have signs where you can park for the restaurant on this lot. Careful with the spots reserved for the liquor store or the tenants. Oh and we met fluffy while he was eating there

Must stop spot in San Diego! Decor is spot on in this restaurant with a very chill and relaxed vibe. The staff was excellent and super helpful. We asked the gentleman helping us what his favorite food was and he said the birria is excellent especially if you like spice (which we do.) My favorite was the beef queso taco... I could sit here and eat that all day long. I also enjoyed the Pumpkin Spice Horchata (you can try it with a taster before you buy it.) The house salsa and the creamy cilantro salsas were incredible. I would absolutely come back and staff clearly takes a lot of pride in their place of work. We will be back soon!

I love Lucha libre and it's a frequent stop when in San Diego. Parking lot can get filled up depending on the day of the week. It was next door to a bar not sure if the bar is still there but at times the traffic of both made the lot impossible to use since all spaces would be occupied. My other negative remark is that their menu is super inconsistent to the point it's a bit annoying they had enchiladas when they first opened as well as tj dogs. They no longer carry the tj dogs or enchiladas, they added tj corn which was lowkey kinda nasty and overly drenched in mayonnaise Their bathroom is usually clean and they have a decent eating area which are plus marks, the removal of the enchiladas though legit sorry to be dramatic ill never forgive that lol, and sometimes they "bring them back" which lowkey just makes me sad and mad all over again lol Honestly whoever owns this place y'all added way too many filler items which are similar to others, my recommendation being back the tj dog and enchiladas and stop changing the menu please. Y'all were a 5 star and amazing spot back in the day, menu has less memorable items now. I'll gladly skip the birria options for enchiladas in a perfect world

Lucha Libre used to be one of my go-to spots in San Diego, but sadly, the charm and quality have declined over the years. The burritos are still decent, with the Surf and Turf or the classic Cali burrito being solid options, but at $15-18, it feels overpriced for what you get. I remember when there was always a line out the door, but these days, it's noticeably quieter. They've switched to iPads at the front for ordering instead of a cashier, which feels less personal, though you can also order online if you prefer. The parking lot is small, but street parking is usually available nearby. While it's still a decent bite, it doesn't quite have the same spark it used to.

The process of ordering was great! I loved I could order by the machines and get my food either at the table or to go. The atmosphere and service were wonderful! I ordered a variety of tacos which I thought were pretty tasty too! They completely satisfied my need for a taco. The only thing I disliked was the corn. It was far, far too salty. I'd certainly go back next time I'm in town (but I'll just stick with the tacos).

I used to come here very often but it was a while since I came here back again. Parking is very difficult and the restaurant is quite dated and dark. There used to be long lines and as I expected prices are higher but what I wasn't expecting is that the tacos are now half the size of what they used to be so, overall tacos are overpriced and quality has gone down. The burritos are very expensive too, charging prices as if you were eating in a fine dining restaurant. The corn tortilla used to be good (now it breaks very easily) but now is low quality and small. We ordered: - Surf and turf tacos.- they aren't what they used to be. - Quesataco with fries.- small and so so. With so many good options in San Diego for tacos I don't think this place is worth anymore in terms of price, quality and quantity. I'm really sad, it seems this is a restaurant that once it became recognized, now is going downhill and I can't recommend it anymore.

It's lucha libre. Can you say you visited sd and not stop by. Birria tacos and surf n turf burrito are my go-tos. Parking is kinda difficult but manageable. Definitely stop by if you're in the area

First off, I want to say that the service is great all around. They're very nice and the food is ready pretty quick. The theming is great and decorated throughout the restaurant. But the food is not so great. We ordered several items and each one lacked flavor. The fries were stale and hard. I'm not sure if salt was used in any of the dishes. The only thing that was flavorful were their salsas. Unfortunately, I would not go back. The price is way too high for what you get. :(

My love for surf and turf burritos started here. I have loved lucha Libra for years, and whenever I'm back in town have to make a stop here. So good. Service has been great. Ambiance is a pink wrestling theme Mexican fast casual spot. - Surf and turf burrito (5/5): My love for this burrito is unmatched. So tasty, huge portion size, shrimp and steak are amazing. The creamy green sauce is also the best.

Such a San Diego staple! Lucha Libre is my go-to spot in San Diego for burritos. Food 5/5 I got the surfin' California burrito. The burrito is stuffed with carne asada, shrimp, fries, pico, avocado, and this creamy sauce. I love their self-serve sauce bar. Def try the creamy cilantro dressing! Also tried the TJ corn which is just elite in a cup. Oh! Almost forgot the free bag of fresh chips! Service 5/5 You walk up and order at the register. The girl working today was nice. The food came out fresh and fast. Ambiance 5/5 Love the theme of the restaurant! No wonder why there's so many reviews for here. Check them out the next time you're in SD. Only downside is the parking situation. Luckily we found street parking across from the restaurant.

I ate here twice in one weekend. Both times were excellent! What brought me here was that I had friends visiting from out of town and they wanted to eat here. Everything I ordered was so good! The first time we ate here was on a Friday afternoon and I ordered the TJ Corn, El Porky Taco and 3 Rolled Tacos w/ Potato. The salsa bar has great choices. I also got a horchata which was perfect. The second time we ate here was on Sunday early evening. I ordered a horchata, TJ Corn, La Vaca Loca Taco and 3 Rolled Tacos w/ Potato. Again, everything was delicious. Loved how easy it is to order, the menu isn't crazy huge so you don't feel overwhelmed with choices. The decor is awesome and really fun to look at. Parking is street parking. The cashier was so nice and made us feel welcome.

I love Lucha Libre!!! It's one of my must go places when visiting San Diego because the food is so fire. I usually get the steak California Burrito with the $3 option to add two small sides. You can choose between TJ corn, rice, refried beans, and black beans all of which are good. Their tacos are super yummy too! Lucha Libre also has a sauce bar with literally the best sauces. The avocado cilantro cream sauce is insanely good and I usually add it to the inside of my burrito. The seating area is decorated to match the Lucha Libre theme giving the restaurant a super fun vibe. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you are having a good experience and the bathroom is kept impeccably clean. Like it's rare to use a public bathroom that somehow manages to actually smell good. Do yourself a favor and come here if you're craving some good Mexican food :)

Cute hole in the wall off the freeway. The tacos were so yummy. The put a crisp layer of cheese on the tortillas before adding the meat & condiments. So yummy! The service is fast and friendly. You go up to the counter and order, they you pick it your order when it's ready. Everyone is helpful and the food is amazing!

BEST! TACOS EVER!! YOU HAVE TO TRY " THE PICOSITO " My girlfriend and I went in for some tacos and let me tell you they make this green sorta guacamole sauce FIRE! And the Picosito taco with steak and shrimp is the best!

I used to love this place. Unfortunately over the past few years the portions have shrunk... now they are strait up serving French fry burritos in place of the Cali burritos. I was on board for the inflation that slowly pushed their burritos to 17$. But now they are skimping on the ingredients, that is where I draw the line. They were a small scrappy neighborhood joint. Now they have 3 locations and have abandoned their neighbors in favor of profitability. They have forgotten the people that made them successful and now they are riding on their fame to sell skimpy portions at inflated prices to tourists. Very sad.

Good medium sized parking lot when my BF and I went (we did miss the parking lot sonce it was our first time there but GPS took us back) The Restaurant was very cute, a lot of masked wrestlers to look at. Convenient up front kiosk to order or you can just order with the cashier. Side salsa bar with plently of limes and onions. The cilantro salsa was definitely as they say: a Customer Favorite. I got the Ado-Haba Piña Cali Burrito and let. me. tell. you. The first bite was an explosion of sauce and flavor. Saucy, tender meat with fries inside. The burrito was good sized and not to overwhelming. Definitely recommend!

Finally got to try this iconic San Diego taco place! Yes, it's as fun and colorful as all the shows it has been featured on. I accidentally missed this location and had to turn around. However, it's located directly next to the gas station under a black awning that says "LIQUOR." Pros: -delicious tacos. My favorite was the ado-habo pina taco. -self serve salsa bar Cons: -none Overall, a great spot to eat and close to the airport!

Aesthetic is kinda cool. My husband's burrito had great flavor. My torta took 3 tries to get right. I asked about the ingredients/toppings before ordering and they couldn't seem to get it right since I didn't want sauce of any kind on it. Once it came out it tasted good and was hot/fresh. The salsa bar leaves a lot to desire. Bland flavors and not enough heat. Too many other great options on the same street and I practically could've made it to TJ in the time it took to get my food. Hard pass on this spot for the future.

We arrived and all signs pointed to the right direction. Found premium parking directly outside. And ordered immediately and got our food within 10 minutes. Excellent customer service and they have sauces for your crispy warm chips. I ordered the steak cali burrito and a Modelo Especial. Burrito was super tasty and recommend to order this. The taco's looked good which my wife ordered multiple times. In any case, would go again. But mainly checked off my "bucket place" for places to eat!

Got a bit of everything. Food was very mid. I like the option to order on the iPads, however they forgot to give us our drink. I ended up getting a refund as the drink was not received. I got the birria nachos. And even though I did eat most of them because I was hungry, they were not very good. The meat was tuff and I was served very little of it for $17. The restaurant was also a little worn down. It could definitely use a good cleaning.

Great food and quick service. I came at an off hour but there were still lots of folks inside. I opted for tacos this time. I got 'La Vaca Loca' and the 'Surf and Turf' taco, per the recommendation of the staff. Tacos were great and very filling (and came with a bag of nachos), especially for the price. I was a little disappointed at the salsa bar that although offered some interesting choices, they didn't really have a spicy one I was digging. The outside eating area was nice and shaded, albeit looking at a busy highway nestled between two gas stations. Cool little place to check out.

Cute little spot off the freeways. Came here after picking a friend up from the airport. Got the street corn and some tacos. So yummy. Parking was ok. We parked in the parking lot with no issues. Service was good. Food came out in a decent amount of time. Salsa at the salsa bar oh so good and the homemade mayo juice. Yes! Please try!

The shop is filled with pictures of luchadores and has a lot of memorabilia from then, so it's definitely fun and interesting to look around inside if you're a fan of that period. The food is pretty on point. I was starving when I arrived and was offered chips with my order and was unable to finish my burrito because the chips and salsa was just so good. The drinks are a little bit pricey, but I highly suggest getting a Mexican coke. For how big the burrito was, it was pretty fairly priced, so that was a nice surprise. I was so stuffed when I left and still had about a third of my burrito that I got to bring home for breakfast the following morning. Still good after a reheat in the microwave. Also, definitely loved the house salsa and the creamy cilantro sauce. Highly suggest trying those two sauces, separately, with the chips. The house salsa is a little messy with the chips since it's a chunky salsa, but so very tasty.

Employee's probably didn't feel like working today.. ordered a Cali burrito with chicken, classic margarita, and chips. My chips were more hot & fresh than my burrito. Burrito had stale French fries in it. Was lukewarm. Cheese wasn't melted. And the chicken looked pre-packaged. I wouldn't eat here again.. this is what I get for being big back. The popsicle in the margarita was good.

Paid $25 for a burrito and coke and honestly, it was not great at all. It used to be fantastic but now I wouldn't bother.

So, No hard Feelings. But, I had the chillaquillas burrito. I didn't know there was gonna be chips in it as I did Ask... And, so the chips were soggy inside. The refried beans though was very Good and Tasty. But, there was a lot of Tortilla. The burrito was Filling. So, I was Thankful I had something to eat. I Like the side of chips were Crispy. At first, I thought the Hostess/Cashier was gonna be mean to me. But, she had opened up & was so Sweet + Hospitable. And, I was so Thankful for her Christmas Spirit ;) Because of this Interaction, I wanted to give a 5 Star. But, I also wanted to Honest about the Burrito. So, I Hope there's no hard feelings. :c

This place has some great Mexican food, I'm from Los Angeles and whenever I go down to San Diego this is a must stop. I've even had my wife bring me home some food when she was there for the Air Show. My favorite's: Seafood Burrito. Ordered it with grilled shrimp, comes with jack cheese, cabbage, pico de gallo, rice and black beans and creamy pink sauce. The Surf and Turf Burrito, steak, shrimp, rice and avocado with pico de gallo and the secret chipotle sauce. 3 rolled tacos with potato (reminds me of my childhood.... Sooo gud!) I really enjoy the flavors, all the ingredients complement each other and it's just a bit of Mexican food heaven. Always worth it, I wish I lived closer. I might have to book a cheap flight one of these days. lol!

Funnily enough, I went here when I visited San Diego in 2012. Then when I visited in 2024, I stayed right down the street and recognized the restaurant as we passed by. After a disappointing experience with Mexican food at another restaurant earlier in the week, we got Lucha Libre on our last night. The carne asada nachos and rolled flautas were so good!

San Diego has some of the best Mexican food in the country which means it is super competitive. I've had lucha libre bookmarked for years and finally got to try it. If this place was anywhere else it would be a 4 or 5, but in SD it's a 3 for me. Giving a 4 star rating though because the service was really good and the inside ambiance is exactly what I wanted. The California Surfin burrito was delicious, but the salsas though good were not special & didn't bring out the flavors of the burrito. Would I go again? Probably not.

Hands down, best burrito I've tasted so far in SD. Mine was the adohaba pina burrito and the pineapple made my burrito perfectly sweet and it was basically juicing out from my mouth while melting. Phenomenal! The food came out in about 5-7mins and the service there was exceptional - very friendly. The ambiance is for a quick grab dining but also good for chill hang out/dates. I would definitely come back when I visit again!

Good burritos but insanely good creamy cilantro sauce??? The sauce on the self serve section is enough to warrant a visit here. I personally really liked their California burrito (crunchy fries) a little more then the surf and turf. All you can eat chips also

The BEST surf and turf burrito in San Diego. Whenever we come to SD, we always need to stop by Lucha Libre to get the surf and turf. It's honestly the perfect combo of steak and shrimp. When you add their green sauce it's just PERFECTION. We also tried the surfin' California this time, which is a good option if you're a fan of California burritos.

Heard good things about Lucha Libre in SD so we had to come down and give it a try. Overall, the food is pretty mid but the extra star is for their drinks. We ordered a mango tequila refresher and it came with a chamoy and tajin ring. So refreshing and delicious. The California burrito with French Fries was also pretty good, and they handed us chips on the house! Lots of sauces at the sauce bar to choose from as well. We also got the surf and turf taco which wasn't bad, I preferred the burrito but my friend liked it and we'd definitely come back for their drinks and burritos!

Holy Cow, this place is amazing! I loved the Mexican Wrestler theme throughout the experience, from menu and dining area to the restrooms. Food quality was awesome and the flavors they have are top-notch! Tacos made me want to come back without a doubt. They have their own self-serve area for salsas, limes, etc so that was nice. Not much interaction with staff so can't speak much to service. Definitely a recommend without a doubt!

My go to for stand in line tacos when I'm visiting San Diego. This place is off the hook good and the decor of this establishment is priceless. It's fashioned after the Mexican wrestling vibe and there's even a special table cordoned off with a reserved sign for any prize winning Luche Libres! Their burritos are amazing as are the potato tacos but honestly, everything is totally a 10. Their salsa bar is outstanding with about 10 different choices. Be prepared to stand in line to place your order, but what could be more fun... right?

Gave this place two stars because I've had multiple great experiences here, but last night may have changed all those past experiences. I've always ordered the Birria California. Always excellent and amazing. But last night the fires were so HARD. I couldn't even crush a fry between by thumb and index finger (literally. I tried multiple fries and could not crush them)... I was hoping it was just one overcooked fry (that really wouldn't be an issue). As I continued eating, every bite was painful. Sharp, hard, inedible fries all over the place. I was pulling out fries from every single bite. There were more stone like fries than there were normal ones. I eventually had to just unroll what was left and pick out the fries. I couldn't take another bite with a stone in it. My boyfriend also got a burrito and had no issues. I wonder if mine was made with the bottom of the basket, but I wonder how long they were out or how long they were cooked in order to make them literally HARD AS ROCKS. This was an online order and I already made it home. Ordered at 6:50ish and picked up at 7:20ish. So it wasn't even closing time when getting these terrible fries. This was my go to spot. I've told lots of people about this place. After last night, i don't know if I'll be back. I'd like to keep all of my teeth.

"The food, the atmosphere... everything's flawless!" This restaurant is a great visit. Well worth anyone's time when craving a taco, burritos, quesadilla, or anything delicious of Latino food. Been here multiple times. First time after my Marine Corps Recruit Training graduation, and much later in 2023 when I went with my girlfriend at the time. You are in for a good meal. Be careful with parking though. It is not easy to park on the busy street. May God's grace and peace be upon you all who keep this establishment tight and running and to your loved ones. The place is cute and a tribute to Mexican professional wrestling, aka "lucha libre." The staff were nice enough to let me lock up my bicycle in the front entrance and they were friendly overall. They have a fresh salsa bar which was probably the best part about their food. The burrito was underwhelming, pretty small and mostly rice with very limited steak and shrimp. Definitely not worth the value...you get more out of Rubio's. It's disappointing because their burritos felt bigger years ago when I was a local.

I've never gone to the actual restaurant but my fiancé has and says the sauce bar is great because we both loooove the cilantro cream sauce that comes with it. We stack up on it because it's that good and ADDICTING. Fiancé said service is chill and fast and the ambiance is your typical taco/burrito restaurant. I got the surf and turf and flavor wise, this place is always on point. My favorite is the shrimp meat in this burrito. You can tell it's actually grilled on a stove and really fresh and not overcooked and chewy. Sometimes for the steak I can't say the same because it can be tough and pretty dry. Overall great place for a flavorful burrito that's not chipotle! I'd gladly come here again.

YUUMM and FUN. The decor here is totally random, but it makes for a fun time. We had a lot to check out while we waited for our food, including Ron Burgundy. We ordered the Classic Cali, El Pollito Tacos, and, of course, the TJ corn. Everything was very good, and my only regret is that we didn't go back before we left town. The service was okay, but I honestly think the girl taking our order was new because she seemed very confused when I asked her about the menu. Dine or Dash? I'm coming back for the TJ corn!

Food portion is huge! My husband and I ordered one taco each and we were stuffed! Normally we eat 3-4 tacos elsewhere. They also give chips with your order to go with your food. Love their decor and the fact that they have TVs with wwe reruns! Reminded me of my 90's childhood. My husband and I try to always have a meal when we're in SD. Definitely worth a visit!
