Lowboy is the cozy Echo Park bar where great smashburgers meet seasonally-inspired cocktails in a laid-back, dimly lit setting.
"This straightforward bar on Echo Park's main drag has been crowded since the day it opened, and it remains a great place to meet people—they’ve got fun music, a mellow crowd, and a good drink list. Aside from Lowboy's fantastic cocktail—like the particularly lethal Viva Sandia with vodka, coconut milk, and watermelon—a standout factor here is that they also serve solid drinking food, including a juicy smashburger smothered in red pepper jam and griddled onions." - brant cox
"Lowboy is a dark, wide-open space on Sunset that also happens to be one of the coolest bars in Echo Park (that serves food). Part of Lowboy's cool factor is that there's always something going on here, whether it's a cool DJ set, a live jazz band, or rotating drink specials with fun themes, like this one that's served in a boot. Pre-game Dodger Stadium with good music, a cocktail list that includes some particularly lethal tequila drinks, Jello-O shots, and one banging smashburger smothered in garlic mayo. If you're looking for a slightly more chill cocktail option, there's also Bar Flores upstairs." - sylvio martins, nikko duren
"Lowboy is the kind of drinks and snacks spot that every neighborhood deserves. Its owners made it possible to make good choices with Bar Flores directly upstairs, and Donna’s next door. But while at Lowboy, enjoy a weekday happy hour, a California-style burrito, and more." - Matthew Kang, Mona Holmes

"There may be nothing better than a post-hike burger and beer. Head to Lowboy after wandering around Elysian Park for smash burgers, chicken tenders, fries, and more. The neighborhood watering hole also offers six beers on tap, plus bottles including Miller High Life and Coors. If your hike is later in the day, you might even migrate upstairs to Bar Flores afterward for some of the neighborhood’s best cocktails." - Rebecca Roland
