LOTTE City Hotel Myeongdong

Nice city hotel in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful. You can easily reach it from ICN Airport via the 6015 limousine bus. Breakfast was good, though not significantly better than other hotels I’ve stayed at in Korea. The room was a bit dated but clean; however, I’m not a fan of the carpet—it felt a bit unpleasant. The shower pressure was excellent. The hotel is very close to a lively university bar area in Jongno, which is great for exploring local street food culture and experiencing an authentic local vibe.

We stayed here for our first three nights in Seoul. Very clean and lovely staff. Facilities are great too. The laundry and dryer area is very useful and the gym is sufficient too. The attached 7/11 is very convenient too! Located well and only fault I can think is the rooms were a little smaller than we hoped. Would recommend for a 4 star stay for a few nights!

Bad Booked a Superior Twin Room but was smaller than expected. Upgraded to a slightly bigger room, but there was construction noise. Moved again - staff waived the upgrade fee due to the hassle. Subpar facilities • faulty toilet doors. Can’t close properly in all 3 rooms we were in & will keep sliding close when left open • stains on toilet bowl’s exterior & thin toilet paper • shower inside a bathtub which I personally alr don’t like. Clogged shower drain on our last night. • loose power socket, can’t charge phone properly. • air-con panel not very responsive • no toothbrushes (environmental reasons) - have to buy from 7-11 downstairs • slow lifts - We arrived in the morning expecting to wait to check-in at 3pm but they allowed early check-in if we signed up for their free membership. Friendly staff & good location (next to 7-11, close to Myeongdong Street). Feels more like a 2–3 star hotel. Won’t stay here again.

I stay for about 5 days the hotel great and quiet and location is close to attractive places. Only rooms are very small and the don’t have luggage currying services. There is a 7 eleven down there and halal restaurant as well as a cafe

I was really looking forward to staying in a Lotte hotel but I didn’t realise that a bit like the Marriott and the ‘Fairfield Marriott’, the Lotte City is the poor relation of the Lotte. Yeh, it’s expensive but you are paying for the location not the luxury. And you will get a perfectly clean room (dated and in need of a bit of refurbishment) but with an excellent breakfast and a good laundry room. Sadly it is lacking in many other ways. You are processed. Little things were annoying. At breakfast there was a very nice filter coffee jug which contained good coffee and avoided the need to queue at the very busy coffee machine. But each morning when the jug ran out, it was not refilled. On my last morning I asked the attendant could she refill it, and she said that ‘it wasn’t possible’. |The double bed was too small and I had to sleep at the foot end of the bed as there wasn’t room for both of us. (In fairness I could have approached the desk and asked for a different room but after my first night I had already unpacked).|All in all, this is a very central, clean hotel with the loviest concierge. But don’t expect anything special.

Great location — that’s the best part about this hotel. The staff were really nice and the place was clean. The bathroom was big with good water pressure, and I liked that. The downside was the A/C. From day one it only worked like a fan, not actually cooling the room. They sent maintenance who said that’s just how it is, and they gave me a fan to help. It made things a bit better, but honestly I expected proper cooling, especially since the lobby and hallways were nice and cold. The bed was also a bit hard for me. Overall, not a bad stay, but the A/C situation definitely took away from the comfort.

Our recent stay at the hotel was wonderful, but what truly made it exceptional was the kindness and dedication of the concierge, Mr. Koo. My daughter became ill during our vacation, and he stepped in with a level of care that went far beyond his role. He guided me to a Korean cough syrup that helped her right away, then helped me call a restaurant to order chicken ginseng soup. What impressed me most was that after finishing his shift, he didn’t simply point me in the right direction. He walked with me to pick up the soup so I wouldn’t get lost. In a moment when we were overwhelmed and far from home, he made sure we felt supported and safe. Because of him, we both felt genuinely looked after. His warm personality, patience, and generosity represent the very best of hospitality. We’ll return to this hotel again and again, knowing that people like Mr. Koo are there to take such thoughtful care of their guests.

Pros. - great location. Your right in the middle of where you could want to be and go. Night markets not far away. Shopping you are surrounded by. Awesome restaurants close too. - clean rooms -comfy bed (but small) - ice maker and water machine on every level - nice size bathroom with a good bidet and nice sized shower -rooms were nice and quiet Cons. -no pool -beds are very small -rooms are very small - air conditioning is next to useless. Had set to 16c never went below 21c -fridge doesn't run cold at all -no room service (4 star hotel? I think not) -not all the staff spoke English very well so communication was tricky. - view was ok. Nothing special. Overall we wouldn't go back to this hotel. We would definitely go back to Seoul and we would probably stay in the same area. We would consider their sister hotel. Will just do better research next time. It's a good one for 1-2 nights or a business trip. But not for family's and not for extended stays
