"The original Farmer's Market is great (and worth checking out regardless), but most of the food is sub-par. This spot is not. Excellent molé, enchiladas, soups, and tacos. Then order up a beer from the bar in the next stall, and you're set to people watch tourists for the next 2 hours." - One Long House

"The down and dirty Mexican food here appeases even the pickiest palette (they have the basics, like quesadillas and simple chicken tacos), and it’s in the long-standing Farmer’s Market, which is adjacent to The Grove. There, you’ll find an American Girl Doll and a Dylan’s Candy Bar."

"Chef Jimmy Shaw has transformed his commissary kitchen into a place for bulk orders and takeaway meals. The restaurant offers many Loteria staple dishes including burritos, tacos, bowls, and larger plates, served from an app instead of a traditional restaurant. Shaw envisions scaling up with small takeaway windows across the city." - Farley Elliott

"Loteria Grill will close its Hollywood location this Sunday, reducing chef Jimmy Shaw’s remaining restaurants to two. Previously, Loteria locations were widespread from LAX to the original Farmers Market to Hollywood. Now, only the airport and Forum locations remain. Shaw plans to convert space in his commissary kitchen at Pico and Crenshaw into a mostly takeaway taco spot, with the catering arm operating in the back." - Farley Elliott

I was a longtime fan of their restaurant in Hollywood and was excited to learn that they recently opened a takeout window at their kitchen in Mid-City! I’ve ordered food from this location twice now and it’s just as delicious as I remembered. The food is fresh, has fantastic flavors, and it’s prepared with care. I ordered pick-up directly from their website, but they’re on the typical delivery apps as well.

Take out only. Have not tried I yet myself but they seem busy. Smells good though. I loved playing the game as I child it's how my family had me practice my Spanish. I don't see why I would not love their food. Oh if the owners read this might I suggest you put a brakefast burrito on the menu preferably with options cuz sometimes I want bacon sometime I want sausage some times both.

Decided to try this place out after reading an article in LA Times about their chilaquiles and happened to be in the area. I got the chilaquiles with the green sauce and added carnitas and eggs, it was very flavorful, the chips were crisp yet soaked up just enough sauce. It was pretty much perfect and the guy at the window was very nice. I finished the whole thing even though it was more than I should eat in one sitting... Highly recommend.

This place is at a very convenient spot off Hollywood Blvd and the restaurant setup is quite unique. Their music taste is fantastic and the atmosphere is lively. Whether you're on a date or want to come with a bunch of family, they can accommodate. Large selection of liquor (tequila) available. Try out their guacamole or chicken mole tacos.

Yesterday I was famished and headed to a vegan restaurant. While in the strip mall, I parked in front of Loiterra on Pico. I parked right in front of a video ad being displayed of the delicious Mexican food served at Loiterra. I went from wanting grains to wanting Mexican. I still wanted a vegetarian dish, so I inquired with Jim what he would suggest. He was a nice and polite gentleman, very knowledgeable about the food their. Jim is the owner. I ordered 2 enchiladas with beans and rice. He recommended the squash enchilada and a mushroom one. It sounded like it would be great and it was. Filled with sauces and cheese. I do eat cheese. It was fantastic! The presentation was great and it was absolutely delicious! By far the best tasting Mexican food I’ve ever had. Seriously 😋. I didn’t expect it to taste so good. It was like eating food from a 5 star Mexican restaurant, but located in an unassuming strip mall. Jim owns another Loiterra in LAX. It tasted better than I could imagine! It was everything I wanted and more and the food just melted in my mouth. Thank you Jim! I’ll be seeing you soon! 😊

Google
Best burrito I've ever eaten. Whenever you are in LA, be sure to stop by and get a burrito. It is worth the drive along with their Crazy Salsa Chipotle sauce. So amazing. Looking forward to my visit back to LA so I can eat here again!

Great food. Inspired drinks. Open atmosphere. Professional, knowledgeable staff.

Yelp
Chilaquiles were super salty! The quality is not the same as a few years ago. The ones they used to have at fig at 7th were bomb!

Yelp
I went looking for a Loteria restaurant and found this! It isn't a sit down restaurant although the food is still amazing! I think they need to take down all the restaurant pics because it is a bit confusing.

Yelp
I stopped by yesterday before visiting a friend that lived near by to get chips, guacamole and salsa. I will be back to try other things next time because the gauc and salsa were delicious. My friends enjoyed it too. :)

Yelp
Terrible service, I once asked for utensils and napkins and the lady gave me a huge attitude and they forgot to give me my drink! They will tag you and decline your orders on Uber eats. The food isn't even that good because everything is rushed. Don't eat here, Alma Cocina is 100x better and actually authentic Mexican food

Yelp
Jimmy Shaw and his beloved Loteria are an institution. The Rick Bayless of the West, if you will. I loved his stall at the original farmers market, loved his fancier restos, and now just as happy picking up delicious treats not too far down Pico Blvd. Recently enjoyed the chicken mole tamales served with extra mole, crema, and cotija! Meaty and delicious, no skimping on the good stuff here! And along with that three (3) yes THREE orders of pozole verde, my favorite. I ate one and put the other two in the freezer to tide me over until they have it again. Served with all the necessary goodies to make it perfect: dried Mexican oregano, chili powder, radish, cabbage, lime, onion& cilantro, and a few fried corn tortillas on the side. A perfect meal especially with these cold & wet SoCal days & nights of late.

Yelp
This place is like I went to Mexico City and found genuine cuisine. I placed an order of their Chilaquiles Verde and I've had a few of their burritos and all of them have caught me off guard. Most places are sloppy with their burritos, but this place is good at providing an even consistency throughout the burrito. The portion is on the smaller side, but it packs a punch. I recommend any item from here. We ordered online and picked up our items at the window. Today I tried their Chilaquiles Verde, which i was happy with. Our order was delivered by the owner of the business, which felt very humbling. He was very sweet and made sure we had everything before we left. Next time I will try their salsa's, but even without the salsa, the food was terrific. Five out of five, I'll definitely be a regular here.

Yelp
I just discovered this gem recently. Hands down best Mexican restaurant in relation to its prices and food quality in LA. The food is delicious and the menus variety is stellar. Definitely a returning customer here! I wish I remembered to share photos but my brain doesn't function once I see my plate.

Yelp
OMG some of the best Mexican food I've had in awhile! Very large portions, super flavorful meat, and the flour tortillas are insanely good. Definitely ordering again

Yelp
I've been a fan of Loteria for maybe 18 years... love the food and Jimmy is such a cool guy... Potatoes - papas con rajas - a reason to live Huevos - all kinds Black beans to die for Salsas? like you would not believe in every color... Maestro!!!

Yelp
Always DELICIOUS! Addicted to the flour cheese quesadillas ! Fast delivery. Love Loteria Grill.

Hillary S.

Yelp
I have nooooothing negative to say on Loteria Grill! They crispness of each nacho, the kindness of their staff, and the quickness of my order fulfillment is always a pleasure. Thrilled for them to be in my neighborhood!

Yelp
I was so excited to learn that Loteria Grill has a take out window in Mid City! I used to love the Hollywood location and was bummed when it closed. Fortunately, the food at this location is just a delicious, fresh and packed with flavor as the dine-in restaurant. My only wish would be that they add some tables and chairs to allow folks to sit and eat. The restaurant next door has commandeered a couple parking spots to create an outdoor dining area - maybe Loteria Grill can do the same?!

Tisha S.

Yelp
I had the tacos lengua with black beans & rice. It was amazing...I have to back and try something else

Yelp
The Mole is out of this world. "Best mole I've ever had" - Chef Adam Birch The potato taco is also insane!

Peter H.

Yelp
Just went here and ordered the chicken burrito with mole poblano sauce. It took about 20 minutes to be prepared. When I tasted it I understood why this is not fast food. Fresh, incredible taste, light and soft tortilla, the best shredded chunks of chicken breast with the most incredibly delicious mole sauce. Did I say delicious?!! Also the warm salsa on the side with chips was heavenly. Def coming back.

Yelp
Never got to try the food because I drove here and the door was closed. It said they were open and to knock for service. I knocked several times and waited but nobody helped us. Also tried to call... so I walked over to The Grain Cafe which is one of my regular spots so I wasn't super disappointed to give them my business instead. They should operate their business better! If nobody wants to help customers !!!

Tania L.

Yelp
Amazing and very authentic Mexican food! I love all the dishes they serve, but my favorite are the enchiladas verdes and the nachos! So yummy!

David G.

Yelp
I rarely leave reviews, but holy shit this pollo asado burrito was UHHHHmazing. It was packed with flavor and just delicious. The hot sauce was smoky with just enough heat. I also had some papa con Rajas tacos. They were just as good. I've been to other Loterias before, and none of them compared to this hole in the wall. I think the owner came out and he was very nice and greeted me. Nevertheless, try this spot out!!!!

Yelp
We used to go to the Hollywood location all the time and sit at the counter on Friday nights with a pitcher of margaritas. It was the perfect wind down from the week. And the food never disappointed. We were regulars and knew several servers by name. We were soooo bummed when it closed. Couldn't believe it when we discovered they've reopened a modest storefront in a cool little strip mall on Pico. Our pozole and carnitas burritos were just as delicious as before. We are so happy to only live only 10 minutes away. Welcome back Loteria!

Matt K.

Yelp
Huge Loteria fan and so excited to have them back. But please bring plantains back to the menu! I promise to order them weekly!

Arthur L.

Yelp
Loteria's enchiladas are amazing also their service was also amazing. Jimmy is a super nice guy and a talented chef. The staff is warm and inviting. All around great experience.

Yelp
Ordered and bought a dozen assorted tamales. They were ready on time for pickup. They were absolutely fantastic, probably the best I've ever had. The masa was an excellent texture and the fillings were varied and delicious.

Yelp
Had a delivery pick-up and it's 7:07 pm on Saturday April 23rd and these little short females working behind the counter looked me in my eyes as I showed them my phone to show them I was picking up an order and they straight up looked away like we didn't just acknowledge each other
