Dive into the vibrant hustle of Chelsea Market’s Los Tacos, where fresh, mouthwatering tacos and quesadillas steal the show in a lively takeout vibe.
"Los Tacos No. 1 is always a great option for lunch (our order: two carne asada tacos on corn tortillas, with a jamaica agua fresca if in need of an extra treat), and this particular location has the added benefit of being extremely convenient to Penn. They’re open till 11pm, so it’d also make a great pre- or post-game stop for any sports fan who’d prefer not to shell out $22 for a crappy sandwich at Madison Square Garden." - bryan kim, willa moore, kenny yang, neha talreja, molly fitzpatrick
"Los Tacos No. 1 in Chelsea Market offers flour and corn tortillas for pork adobada tacos, similar to pineapple-tenderized al pastor tacos. Grilled steak (carne asada), pollo asado, and nopal fillings are also available, and any one can be ordered as a double-tortilla mula or a quesadilla. There are other locations in Times Square, Grand Central, Penn Station, Noho, and Tribeca." - Eater Staff
"Los Tacos No. 1 is a corrugated metal structure within Chelsea Market that draws long lines at lunch and dinner. Fresh flour and corn tortillas form the basis for pork adobada tacos, which will remind you of the pineapple-tenderized al pastor of Puebla. The beach favorite of grilled steak (carne asada) is also available, and either filling can be used to make a double-tortilla mula, gluing its tortillas together with cheese. Other locations in Times Square, Grand Central, Penn Station, Noho, and Tribeca." - Robert Sietsema
"This Tijuana-style taco shop started in Chelsea Market in 2013, and you’ll still consistently find lines there any time you go. But now they also have a handful of outposts around Manhattan—including useful locations near Grand Central, Penn Station, and Times Square. There’s nowhere to sit, but there are counters where you can stand and eat asada, adobada, or nopal tacos with all the fixings, and we encourage you to expand beyond tacos to try some of their cheese-layered mulas." - willa moore, bryan kim, kenny yang, carina finn koeppicus, will hartman, neha talreja
"Los Tacos is a Tijuana-style taco shop that started in Chelsea Market in 2013, and you’ll still consistently find lines here any time you go. But now they also have locations all around Manhattan—including a very useful spot near Grand Central, and others near Times Square and Penn Station. Every location looks and feels more or less the same: white tiling, a fast-moving line, a counter where you can stand and eat. Your choices are marinated pork, steak, chicken, or cactus, on flour or corn tortillas. We opt for carne asada, adobada, or nopal tacos with all the fixings, but you really can’t make a bad decision here. The key, though, is to load up on the salsas at the bar." - neha talreja, kenny yang, carina finn koeppicus, willa moore, will hartman
