Los Jilberto's Taco Shop Borrego Springs

Awesome street tacos. I thought they were a bit expensive until I received my order. These things are packed full of meat. Super tasty and authentic, highly recommend. Things to know about this place: cash only and no restroom.

Solid Mexican food in Borrego. Good salsa bar. California burrito was good, wish it had sour cream and more fries. But otherwise tasty. Breakfast burrito was great, too. Family business.

The Nak is said to have lettuce, guac, fries beans and carne asada. Couldn't really tell there was lettuce though. The burrito was huge but the taste was nothing special. It's good for a quick fix in the area. Their horchata was pretty good. Service Is friendly and fast! It was quiet on a Sunday night.

Absolutely love this place! Their food is incredible, offering a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The service was impressively fast, and they provide a great selection of salsas to enhance your meal. If I could eat here every day, I would! Just a heads-up—it’s cash only.

Had excellent food here! Had the machaca platter which came with rice, beans and 4 corn tortillas. Your choice of either corn or flour. They have a small salsa bar with pico de gallo, red sauce, green sauce and pickled carrots. The price was reasonable and the food plentiful! Everything was delicious! I can see why there was a line waiting to order. Food came out fast and hot. Definitely one of the top Mexican food places I've eaten! They are cash only

In a small town like Borrego Springs, your options are fairly limited when it comes to taco shop style mexican food. (By limited, I mean you have one option) Luckily, Los Jilbertos is a solid option. Their salsa bar is filled with flavorful salsa, red, green and orange varieties of varying spice level to suit all tastes. Their complimentary hot carrots are tender with just the right amount of spice. Their food is fresh and hot while being seasoned well. The staff has always been friendly and efficient when I've visited. I highly recommend stopping in and giving them a try. You just might find yourself going there frequently when you're in the area.

Lovely and friendly staff. Al pastor tacos was great. We also got fish tacos which was also crispy and delicious. We are always appreciative when the taco shop has pickled carrots and a salsa bar. It was so good we got an Al pastor burrito to go !

Everything required to be a perfect burrito shop. They have a veggie burrito for vegetarians but that can be made vegan by asking for no cheese. Add potato and you’ve got a wonderful burrito. They have a great little salsa bar with fresh pico. And the tortillas are fresh and delicious! The burritos are also huge. Would definitely go back, wish it was closer. Note cash only but there’s an atm at the convenience store next door.
