Must see if you’re in Dubrovnik, a short July 2024. 15min ferry ride to a small island. Go early to avoid the crowds. See the monastery, sit on the original throne from GOT, float swim in the dead sea, walk the rocky cliffs to the sea, visit the botanical garden, hike to the top of fortress. There are a couple restaurants here too. If you’re lucky the peacocks will put on a show, many roaming freely.

Lokrum Island is just off the old harbour of Dubrovnik. There is a ship going there and back every 30 minutes and the trip is 10 minutes. It's a natural reserve, with minimum interactions there is a botanical garden, salt lake, and Benedictine monastery dating back at least to 1023. You can find food and drink. The water is absolutely clean and beautiful so consider swimming. Absolutely worth the visit.

Beautiful island to visit when you are in dubrovnik. Make sure you wear proper shoes because the paths are rocky roads and a bit unstable at times. A lot of animals, old buildings and beautiful nature. There are some swimming spots but make sure you wear some watershoes to protect your feet from the rocks. There are no sand beaches or something like that. I suggest you bring your own food because there isn't a lot to eat on the island and everything there is, is really expensive. I think you have seen the island in about 4 to 5 hours without swimming. When you search on Internet the price of the ferry used to be 7 euros but it has changed to 27 euros per person. To me that is just ridiculous. On the island you can also rent some kayaks as well if you like. Overall a fun island but you should know what to expect.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re staying in Dubrovnik and have at least half a day spare. Despite the crowds on the ferry to get there, the island had plenty of places to escape the crowds. From a mini museum about GoT, to the wild peacocks, swimming lake and ocean swimming spots, there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy.

Highly recommend for a half day trip there if you have time while in Dubrovnik. Very nice scene, a beautiful and peaceful place, if you don’t mind doing a tough hike for 10mins you have the great view from top. Could see a lot of peacocks. Also for game of thrones don’t miss to take photos from the throne, there is a small room there to talk about all the behind the scene of the show.

A delightful island only fifteen minutes by boat from Dubrovnik. It's covered in green forestry and surrounded by crystal clear waters. There's a small sea water lake that is popular with swimmers. Several restaurants are dotted around the island, discreetly tucked away behind hedges or ruins. The food and service are great in Lacroma restaurant where we had a late lunch. For Game of Thrones fans there is a small exhibition including a replica of a throne from the series where you get your photo taken.

Most beautiful little island with lots of walking trails and exotic plants. Even peacocks are running around. Perfect day trip also with the family, bring your picnic and swim gear!
