Absolutely incredible! I’ve visited Lode Pastry time and time again, and it never disappoints. Both the sweet and savory pastries are perfection—delicious, flaky, and so well-crafted.
My only wish is that they had more seating, but that’s a small downside for such an amazing experience. Keeping it short and sweet: Lode is a must-try for anyone who loves pastries. I’ll always keep coming back!

Today we visited Lode Pies & Pastries, and I’m happy to say it truly lived up to the hype! Often, when a place comes highly recommended, it can be disappointing, but this was definitely not the case here.
The two ladies who served us were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. The pies were absolutely delicious, and the coffee was fantastic. It’s clear they take pride in what they do.
If you’re looking for a worthwhile stop, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

The pie was so delicious. The paste was crispy and moist. The coffee had a nice aroma. It went really well with the food. The pie, which you pour the sauce into, had a variety of flavors and was savory. The pistachio had chocolate in it. The staff was friendly and the music was sweet.

Got a voucher for this place and have heard lots about it previously, so decided to finally check it out. Beautiful little cafe-style bakery in the quaint neighbourhood of Surry Hills, with their lovely pastel pink decors. Got their signature Lode Pithivier pie, which was delicious and came with gravy to fill in. The Yuzu Tart & Pistachio Croissant were pleasantly interesting and unique in taste. The Plain Croissant was basic with a crispy puff pastry. Overall a nice experience, just a little out of my price range normally.

I purchased the coconut and yuzu tart but will 100% be back to try other items on the menu.
Let me tell you this tart was so perfectly crafted, the flavours all so well balanced and the shredded coconut on top was a great addition. The pastry was perfectly lamented, crisp and flaky, and cooked to perfection (so rare to find).
I can’t recommend this patisserie enough. All menu items fairly priced and worthy of every dollar.
Would also like to commend the staff, all had wonderful welcoming smiles and the gentleman on the POS; he was beautifully mannered and exactly what hospitality staff should look like, serving the extended line of patient customers with a welcoming smile and charm.

A busy and cosy little gem in Surry Hills
One of the best pastries. Recommend their Wagyu & mushroom pie, and Chicken pie.
Drinks menu is a bit simple, that is something to improve

I appreciate the details of well made food.
These pies and pastries are on another level. They’re certainly not budget friendly, but it’s hard to argue about the high level of quality here.
Their popular Pithivier (caramelised pork pie) and Yuzu Tart are absolutely delicious.
I’m glad I don’t live close to Lode Pies - I’d be here way too often!

Gave in to the hype and tried their pies. They’re interesting tasting but something I’d get once. They don’t taste as great as I thought but appreciate their desire to be creative. The tarts on the other hand are spectacular and recommend getting them. The staff are really nice and they have a nice display to show you what you can get and what they look like. Street parking is very limited and there is a bit of a wait before ordering.
