"It's true that Chelsea Market is one of the more stressful places you can step foot in on the island of Manhattan. But once you're inside the large oasis that is Lobster Place, you’ll find not just lobster, but also a sushi counter, an oyster bar, and a fish market. The lobster roll here is mayo-based but very lemony—perfect for the person who finds the typical classic roll just a tad heavy. There’s also a healthy sprinkle of scallions. Come for a lunch-treat roll, or for an early dinner, and round out your order with some hamachi sashimi, and a frozen spicy mango margarita. "Lobster Place is a seafood oasis in the slightly chaotic world of Chelsea Market, and if you live or work in the area you should use it, and use it regularly. The spacious, white-walled spot is a seafood market, an oyster bar, a sushi counter and a lobster joint all rolled into one, which means it's a very useful spot for some quick hamachi sashimi, a few broiled oysters, and/or a very solid lobster roll. It’s also not uncommon to see entire families going to town on whole lobsters, even at lunch on a weekday, so keep this place in mind in case you need to feed a bunch of people in the area. Or, come after work for a frozen spicy mango margarita and a dozen oysters, and then pick up some salmon in the seafood market area for dinner later. "The Galley is the one of the first vendors you’ll see when you walk into Market 57 in Chelsea, and it’s also very close to the doors that lead out onto the pier. This is ideal, because you’re going to want to take your seafood-stuffed roll outside to eat by the water when the weather is nice. The lobster roll at this food hall counter is simple and classic, but the scallop roll is even better: imagine a crudo laced with chili crisp, packed inside a hot, toasted, buttery split-top bun. We also love the smoked salmon and caviar roll with potato chips in it." - Carina Finn
