Wow. Attention to detail, original menu, everything in perfect balance. Friendly service. Go now before they get their star. Long wine list - enough to find good stuff even for those that are picky about naturals… Petit bemol - as the french say - the smoke from the kitchen impregnates the entire room, no escape from smelling like the menu at the end of the evening.

Food was mostly interesting and overall pretty good but not excellent for the price. Feels like it caters only to a young hipster crowd. Service was 10/10 though and the wine list was great. Nice atmosphere. Glad I went as a one off but wouldn't return.

We visited Livingston while traveling in Marseille for the first time, and it exceeded our expectations! We had heard and read great things about this restaurant, and it truly lived up to the hype. Initially, we thought it might be more of a bar-food spot, but the quality of the food was exceptional. They offer a set menu for €45, with an option to add an extra dish for around €24. We chose to add the extra dish, and it was definitely worth it. The crab shell with Acini di pepe pasta was absolutely memorable – beautifully presented and packed with flavor. It’s one of those dishes that makes you want to come back! The wine list was also impressive, with a fantastic selection to pair with the food. Overall, a wonderful dining experience and a must-visit in Marseille.

What an incredible experience, the menu is fixed and a wonderful surprise. I recommend adding the wine pairing. Chef Anh Dao Nguyen crafted an awesome meal, including oysters, ravioli, a shitake mushroom dish, beef and babarum paired with ice cream and black sesame paste for dessert. My tastebuds danced through the meal, anticipating both the food and the assorted wines. Would definitely recommend making an effort to visit Livingston if you live in or are visiting Marseille.

We were really looking forward to our dinner based on the other reviews, but this was a huge miss. The fixed menu was Thai Fusion and paled in comparison to your standard thai street food that can be had for a fraction of the price. The Livingston experience was an "upscaled" version using expensive ingredients artfully arranged, but lacked the depth and contrast of flavor of the original dish. Based on their reputation, I'd be willing to try this place again. But honestly, I'd prefer your standard thai takeout to this.

This was one of the more memorable meals we’ve ever had. The current chef residency by Bits & Bobs ends in a month (written on 08.08.24) - book now! Named for Jonathan Livingstone Seagull we loved the realisation of the concept in this restaurant. It enables emerging chefs to hone their skills in a demanding commercial environment. It also provides them with a great opportunity to experiment with ingredients and get inspiration from local cuisines. Unlike so many fashionable places the staff were friendly and we were made very welcome. Many thanks to award-winning New York based creative director Thom Glover at agency American Haiku for the recommendation. He shot his 7 minute commercial ‘Grey’ for New Balance in Marseille. When we asked where to go to eat he only named one place: Livingstone.

A memorable dining experience, not only one of the best restaurants in Marseille, but one of the best restaurants we have been to in a long time. The menu changes weekly, and the food is delicious and innovative. Every single dish was a standout, from the asparagus, langoustine, and kumquat to the tuna tartate that was fresh and had just the right zesty zing. The main course chicken cooked in Japanese spices was superb—savory and surprising. The dining room and outdoor seating are are comfortable, hip, unpretentious. The wine list unusual and good, and the service friendly, fun and caring. We’ll be back.

The food was absolutely delicious. All the dishes had very unique flavor combinations and the quality of the ingredients was amazing. We loved all courses and would definitely come back
