"Little Coney earns its place on this guide mostly because it’s at the marina next to Golden Gardens, and it’s probably the only place in town where you can get old-school soft serve where the mix comes from a carton. Everyone knows that this is the best soft serve in the world. It’s creamy, artificially-flavored, and exactly what you need while flying a kite around on the shore trying to remember why it is that you own a kite. This snack shack also serves classic burgers and fries, and they’re fine - just make sure to bring salt with you, or dip your food in the Puget Sound. It all needs so much salt." - aimee rizzo

"Everyone knows that some of the best soft serve comes from a commercially-made ice cream base. And one of the only places in Seattle that understands this is Little Coney. It’s a burger joint in Golden Gardens that has some forgettable burgers and fries but very excellent vanilla and chocolate swirl cones. Strolling along the beach while catching sweet rogue drips with your tongue is one of the best Golden Gardens activities up there with securing a grill before anyone else and not getting hit in the shin with a frisbee." - Aimee Rizzo, Kayla Sager Riley

"If you couldn’t care less about ice cream infused with herbs or wild seasonal berries, go to Little Coney at Golden Gardens. This burger and fries spot (where we don’t really care about either of those things) serves great soft serve, and we recommend ordering a towering supermarket cake cone pumped with artificially-flavored swirl, adding some sprinkles, and then taking it to Little Coney’s outdoor patio seating. Otherwise known as the beach." - Aimee Rizzo, Kayla Sager Riley

We've been coming here for years after beach trips, and it's still a fun stop — especially for families. The views are gorgeous and there's plenty of outdoor seating, which is great on warm days. The food is decent, nothing mind-blowing, but it hits the spot. I had the fish and chips this time — fish was crispy and fresh, fries could’ve been hotter. My partner tried the chowder and thought it was tasty but a bit on the salty side. Ice cream is a hit with the kids, though I do feel like the quality has dipped slightly compared to previous visits. It’s still enjoyable, but I miss the richer, creamier texture they used to have. Service is always friendly and fast. Prices are a bit high for what you get, but you’re mostly paying for the location and experience. Overall, still a great little spot to relax and grab a bite near the water.

This used to be one of our favorite spots in Seattle—a fun, locally-owned gem with reasonable prices and genuinely good food. Sadly, it’s gone downhill fast. The food quality has taken a nosedive, and the ice cream—once a standout—is now completely inedible. It’s no longer made from real cream, but some artificial, overly fatty base that tastes like the filler used in cheap flurries. It was so bad I had to throw the entire cone away. It’s incredibly disappointing to see a beloved local spot decline like this. What was once a joyful, reliable treat is now something we’d never go back to. Seattle deserves better.

We love coming here after the beach to grab a snack. They have the best clam chowder and fries that are always hot. My son loves their ice cream with sprinkles.

Google
Food was just ok. It’s your typical ice cream shop food. Very limited menu. The view is what makes this place. Staff was very nice and good came quick. Great place to bring kids and outdoor seating.

This place is classic! The fish and chip's were super fresh and tasty.

James served us, and he was great. The clam chowder and fish & chips were delicious. Perfect location with a view of the water. Definitely recommend!!

Google
This place was a decent little place to eat, nothing special and a little overpriced for what you get. I got a double cheeseburger and my g.f. got a single with no bun. With tip it came to 30 bucks. The views at the restaurant are beautiful, the boat launch is right there and the golden garden beach/park is a short walk away. Restaurant cleanliness - 5 Price - 3 Bathroom - 2 Food - 6 I think if we go again I would get a chili cheese dog and some chili cheese fries. The place could def. Use a facelift and some really deep cleaning. They have a fair amount of parking and seating. Overall a 3 out 5 The service was fast and friendly, we probably will not be back again due to price for quality but if you're hungry from a long day on the lake not a bad place for a quick bite.

Google
I’ve been coming here on and off since I was a kid. Great spot to grab a soft serve, milkshake, or bite to take to Golden Gardens. I’ve ordered their fish and chips in the past and haven’t been disappointed. They have a small interior for seating, and benches for outdoor dining.

Onglee X.

Yelp
We love coming to this place when we're at the boat launch next door. They have the best fried oysters. The service is quick and the line is never long. They have this huge inflatable out front pointing to the stand for everyone to stop by. The oysters were nicely breaded , a good ratio of breading to the oyster. It came with I think six oysters and fries for $15 or so. One of the best fried oysters we've had at a small stand like this. They also have soft serve ice cream as well and that was a good treat. They have a variety of canned soft drinks you can buy, as well as other fried items like clams, and shrimp. It's always a nice treat to stop by this place when we're near.

Yelp
In my view, soft serve fills one of two roles: a rich, decadent treat piled high with toppings; or a simple, concentrated sugar rush that takes you back to a more innocent time. Little Coney falls firmly in the second category. There are only two flavors: chocolate and vanilla. There are no toppings on offer. The cones are the kind you might pull from a dispenser at a cafeteria. Were it not for the restaurant's name and the giant inflatable ice cream cone out front, you might think the ice cream menu was a poorly-erased relic of a bygone time. But once you get handed that stacked swirl, you know it's the real deal. The ice cream certainly stands on its own -- sweet and creamy, staying in its lane but sprinting in it. Within minutes that seemingly insurmountable tower was gone, and I swallowed the last bit of cone with no regrets. The true magic of Little Coney comes from its location. It's easy to revel in childhood delights when you're standing by a charming food shack looking out at the beach, watching boats, paddleboarders, and partygoers mingle under the setting sun. It's the kind of place where an ornate "elevated" treat would feel out of place, but to which a retro swirl is a perfect complement. Would recommend to anyone looking for an IV injection of sugar.

Yelp
Was in the area with my partner and we decided to grab a quick bite here since I've always noticed this little stand when going to Golden Gardens Park. We both got the Hot Dogs which were about $6.59 (pre-tax). Not going to lie, that's a hefty price for such a small dog they sell. But I will have to admit that they do taste a lot better than a Costco Food Court hot dog. But the price comparison is quite stark. I would try the other items again if I'm on the way to visit the park, but I wouldn't come here for any other reasons. It's a pretty area though, so in a way you might be paying a bit more for a view, but that's about all there is to it.

Iris P.

Yelp
classic soft serve :) interior looks like a boat and is perfect for ducking out of the sun

Claudia C.

Yelp
I haven't had the actual food here so I'm rating the place on their soft serve. This is a cute little joint in a perfect beach spot making it the perfect meal when enjoying time at this beach! It was a super sunny day and I was craving something small and sweet and saw Little Coney and had to give it a try. The place is a small little spot with a walk up window where you order your food. I ordered a kids size twist cone and they handed it to us immediately. The price was a little steep but it was exactly what I was craving and hit the spot on a hot day. The soft serve was super creamy, and obviously very high quality which is hard to find. I definitely enjoyed my time here and would recommend if you looking for food or a treat on a hot day!

Tim S.

Yelp
Best hot dogs in Seattle since 1956. You will need a knife and fork. Quality beef dogs with fire chili sauce. What caught my eye was the waving hot dog man. Will be back.

Mark T.

Yelp
Dropped by just before closing time and had two affogatos- espresso poured over soft serve ice cream. Service was fast and efficient- line moved smoothly. All the diners around us sounded happy. Will be back next time we visit Golden Gardens!

Crystal H.

Yelp
You're definitely paying for the views more than the food. The food is pretty typical standard burgers and dogs, and they're okay. Of course you can get a Costco dog with a drink for a $1.50, but they're not located near the water and if you want one, bring a Costco dogs here. But the prices are steep, nonetheless. $6 for a hotdog? Worker is quick and you can't miss this place with their giant waving hot dog inflatable.

Megan S.

Yelp
So sad! I have been coming to little coneys for the last 15 years. They have made the switch from real ice cream to the fully fake artificial stuff, very foamy. Had one spoonful and had to throw it away. Sad to see Seattle area classics going downhill in value. On the other hand the corn dogs were decent.

C L.

Yelp
The food is fresh and always tastes great. The fish and chips are great quality and have three large pieces. Prices are fair for the location. The staff is kind and fast. I've seen them re-open for a little kid who came for a cone a few minutes after closing. There is plenty of parking and several tables inside and outside.

John T.

Yelp
This is the best place to go on a Sunday afternoon at Golden Gardens. The hot dogs are good and I like the fish and chips. The best deal is the kids cone at $3.50. The soft serve ice cream hits the spot on a warm day.

Joseph P.

Yelp
This little place used to be good for a nine sunset meal until they stopped serving hamburgers. Disappointed when I learned they no longer do. I am no longer a customer.

Amy T.

Yelp
I have driven by this place forever and never have stopped by until today. I like the big funny blow up hot dog outside of it. Places like this are overpriced and hit or miss but offer fun nostalgia vibes. We got fries that were piping hot and tasted great with a variety of dips. The rootbeer milkshake was actually really good. They also have a wide selection of beverages and other food, as well as soft serve cones which are fun on a hot day. Service was quick and friendly. Priced a bit steep but your right by the water so its convenient and a treat. I'll come back.

Gail H.

Yelp
Not worth a trip - convenient snack bar if you're in the area, basic menu, nothing special

Kevin N.

Yelp
I don't know why I came back to this place. We were in the area and decided to stop by. Once again...they are closed. Even though their hours say they are supposed to be open. Don't waste your time coming here. They are never open.

Jackie E.

Yelp
Went here yesterday for a little treat. Ordered a kids size chocolate ice cream in a bowl and a sundae. Total for both was around $10. Portion size was plentiful! Was a little disappointed that the sundae had just chocolate syrup and not hot fudge, however it satisfied our soft serve fix regardless. Will more than likely return for that reason! Also, service was prompt and friendly and they took their safety precautions seriously - separating the staff from the patrons, utilizing sliding trays to deliver contactless delivery and having hard plastic barriers between.

Me C.

Yelp
Visit Little Coney maybe 6-7 times per year for many years. So bummed that they no longer have my favorites, cheeseburger and black raspberry milkshake. Sorry, I will not be returning. Sad to see the ole standbys go.

Aliyah M.

Yelp
Simply the best! Their soft serve is the perfect amount of sweet and pairing it with the cajun fries makes any day special

Esperanza D.

Yelp
We didn't have any expectations for this place so we had a good experience in general. This is a burger joint not fancy at all with a nice view, good for a quick snack, coffee for rainy days or ice cream in the summer. Their menu is very simple, nothing out of this world but good enough to satiate our hunger. FYI if you need more details about their combos, ask them to show you their printed menu. They've one bathroom for customers only. No changing table though

Nick H.

Yelp
Liked their burgers but then they got rid of them, the service is pretty fast and the views are cool as well.

Shane H.

Yelp
I didn't have the chance to make an order after a customer put his mouth all over the microphone to order... during covid.. hopefully he bought the microphone with his order too. Hopefully this business implements covid safety measures for customers and then all of us can try here again.

Joe Y.

Yelp
We owned the Little Coney 25 years ago. I cannot believe some people pay $15 and expect someone to have dug the clams themselves, cleaned, battered, fried and served them for that price! of course they are from frozen! What nonsense! Yes you can buy frozen corn dogs for $1 from Costco, but by the time you buy the oil, fry it and drag it down to the beach hot and cruchy, you are at way more than $5 dont you think? the profit on a corn dog is $1!!! The profit on a fish and chip is $2! you people are too much! Just be grateful that you have someone that shows up everyday, sit in a hole in the wall, and make it convenient for you to eat by the beach...you morons! Obviously McDonalds doesnt think it's worth serving you anywhere near there.

Chris S.

Yelp
Food is okay, but would expect better for the price. Nothing to write home about. It's generic Costco/Sysco food. The service is lacking. They still have the inside counter closed, which makes the place unappealing in poor weather. The outside counter doesn't work, and they should open the inside counter back up. Parking is lacking, not their fault, but frustrating when the owners park right in front of the restaurant so paying customers can't park anywhere. Overall Little Coney is okay food with a really good location. There are better restaurants in the area.

Sarah L.

Yelp
I've lived in Seattle for 6 years now, but somehow I've never gone to this place. I finally went last weekend, sun a beaming, my dog Sunny by my side. We were famished from walking for a long while. I saw that Little Coney had hotdogs, and I had a good feeling about them. As a former east coaster, I have high expectations for hotdogs, and this did not disappoint. Picture this, sun, mountains, Golden Gardens, and a hotdog. A perfect summer winter day.

Kelly F.

Yelp
Very convenient to golden gardens. About 330pm on Saturday I ordered a small cup of chowder. The chowder wasn't super chunky but it did have an equal ratio of potatoes to clams. The soup certainly tasted burnt though there were not any visible burnt pieces. I think the container all the chowder was kept in likely had burnt. Service is not the best, though not rude. It's not very fast. There are signs all over that restrooms are for paying customers only. There are public restrooms in the gray building behind. It's convenient if you are hungry but I won't seek it out again.

Nicole W.

Yelp
We weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. We had clams & chips and fish & chips along with root beer and black raspberry milkshakes. If you're at Golden Gardens, it's worth a stop!

Sean Y.

Yelp
Awesome super burger! Soft buns and that sauce was something. It reminded me of my favorite in and out burger! Owner was friendly and the place was super clean. I want to try their sundae next time and stroll around the park when it gets warm.

LouAnn B.

Yelp
We had the fish and chips and they both were sooooo greasy and not that good in flavor. My stomach was so upset, I couldn't eat dinner that day. I won't be back.

jeremy l.

Yelp
Delicious crispy fish and chips, perfect after a day on the water. Fast friendly service

Joe R.

Yelp
Joe Y is right (nice to hear from an ex owner if that she be) prices are fine, I expect to pay for a beachside view. But getting rid of hamburgers, closing earlier than posted hours, it's just gotten shaky. The food is fast, that's good, the blow-up doll beckoning customers is annoying though. It's used car lot.

Arthur A.

Yelp
Convenience meets monopoly minus the price gauging. This tiny snack-restaurant hybrid offers beach park meals as you conquer the obstacles and activities in the vicinity. It's proximity allows good faith business to Golden Gardens and compliments each other for a summer experience. Their existence should be praised and not scrutizined as they save thousands of beachgoers gas mileages for failing to prepare themselves.

Conor S.

Yelp
Food=brilliant, spectacular, beautiful? Enchanting. With that being said......all the provided packaging (bag, napkins, disposable cups) love to blow away in the wind. I finish my moist but crispy Alaskan cod fillet fried crispy fish tender alongside my fries, everything is perfect. Suddenly, a gust of wind uprooted my paper bag and it bolted off the table. It blew at such astonishing speed it knocked a middle age woman off her feet and unconscious. Before I could react, my clam chowder bowl blew the opposite direction, striking the wheel well of a Ford Focus. The car exploded, killing 7 people...... before I could react to the second crisis, my napkins caught a strong gust and shot upwards. Within seconds a BOEING 747 airbus crashes to the ground. Later it was revealed on the pre crash cockpit audio the little coney napkin abstracted their view. It was the sole cause of the crash. Great food! But make sure you place a weighted object on your to-go packaging!

Emily L.

Yelp
Nice place to stop by during a stroll. Newly renovated interior with a very nice view. If you order a cappuccino you get "a kitty" in your cup. Very cute. Good coffee too.

Vanessa T.

Yelp
I've been here a few times for soft serve while visiting Golden Gardens. It's so hard to find soft serve in Seattle so I would give them five stars on that alone! I passed by today and noticed they have an awesome pandemic-friendly set-up, which is a plastic-shielded takeout window so you can get your soft serve right from the sidewalk, contact-free. Andddd the cashier happily offered hand sanitizer after I signed for the purchase. We'll be back!

Aditi B.

Yelp
It's not a fancy place. Very basic but Love their soft serve and garden burger! Good value for money and great taste :). The awesome view outside adds icing to the cake.

Alex G.

Yelp
It's surprisingly hard to find soft serve in this town. This rinky-dink shopnear golden gardens has it though! Food looked like greasy delights and cheap. That stuff doesn't agree with my stomach these days but I definitely appreciated soft serve near the beach!

Ingrid A.

Yelp
Best clam chowder I've ever had. Amazing kraut dog, chili tasted exactly how I want chili to always taste. Didn't expect anything from this place and now we wanna come back to the marina just to get their food!

Chris S.

Yelp
Fries are bomb, clam chowder was so tasty (large bowl wasn't that large but oh well), and the service was fantastic. Highly recommend for a day on the water

Kelle F.

Yelp
Really high priced for small pieces of frozen fish. Very disappointing. We will not be back.

Jens J.

Yelp
Have you wondered what this little food stand on Shilshole Bay is like? Wonder no more, because I am about to tell you. It's cold on the inside (workers wearing jackets) because the door doesn't close all the way. On the flip side, if you sit at the window counter, you have a nice view of Puget Sound and sailboats on Puget Sound, set against a backdrop of the snow-covered Olympic Mountains. The clam chowder - I'm afraid I have to choose the word horrid to describe it. It tasted like metal. Not so bad are the battered cod and fries. The tarter sauce - well, you know, it's almost pure mayonnaise and nothing else. You can draw your own conclusion. Burgers and hot dogs served too, along with soft-serve ice cream (chocolate and vanilla are the only flavors). Questions?

Megan L.

Yelp
Little Coney is a pretty dingy food shack right next to Golden Gardens, serving up classics like burgers and hot dogs, as well as fish n chips, and soft serve. While the interior isn't the fanciest, it's got a weird kind of charm to it. You don't find a lot of small, divey beach town food joints in Seattle. It's very reminiscent of the kind of place you would find on a California beach boardwalk. I came to Little Coney because I had really been craving a corn dog, and my boyfriend said they did them here. The only other place I can think to get a corndog in Seattle is Unicorn, and not only am I not down to spend $10 on a corn dog, but Unicorn is only 21+, so I thought Little Coney was worth a shot. While I did get my corn dog fix for pretty cheap ($3.45), I was disappointed to find that they were simply Foster Farms brand frozen corn dogs that they just fried up for you. I guess I shouldn't have expected anything more from this place, but if I had know that, I would've just bought a box of them at the grocery store. We also got an M&M flurry, which, while decently big and pretty tasty (it's really hard to go wrong with M&Ms mixed into soft serve), was not worth the $6 that it cost. You're better off going to McDonalds and getting a McFlurry there. If you're already at Golden Gardens and looking for a quick (greasy) bite to eat, Little Coney isn't a bad place to stop; there's a nice view of the water that you can look out on. However, definitely don't go out of your way to come here.

Cami G.

Yelp
Whoever expects to visit a place like Little Coney and receive only the finest dining Shilshole Bay has to offer.... is retarded. It's the "I guarantee I can satisfy your hunger and craving for anything greasy, salty, fried, or soft served" kind of place. If you're down, give'errr a try.

Ki Ran P.

Yelp
Don't judge a book by its cover. My boyfriend and I went here after the beach for some chicken sandwiches and safe to say they were some of the best ones we've ever had! I would recommend. And it's so conveniently next to the beach as well.

Richard P.

Yelp
My wife and I finally stopped here after many years of going to Golden Gardens beach. Years of passing this small business and never stopping. Well, we finally did last month and glad we did. We had hamburgers and fries and a soft drink. The burgers were delicious along with the fries. Very good food. Recommended for a quick bite. Going back again and will try the ice cream. They say it's really good.

Inna B.

Yelp
Little Coney is GREAT for getting some ice cream to enjoy while you're wandering around. The food? Um... only if I'm really hungry and can't drive anywhere else. Either way- when the park is busy, they are (usually) busy. Guess it's the ice cream and the great/convenient location. Cause otherwise.... well, I'd be surprised if anybody wanted to eat there for any other reason.

RK L.

Yelp
Great ice cream would go again, great after kayaking trip. Friendly service and very covid safe.

Opal D.

Yelp
We came here this past weekend and were surprised by the line and the wait. The food is simply OK, but it's one of the few spots to grab a bite in this area and it is walking distance from Golden Gardens. Some items on their menu: Fish/Clam Strips/Oysters/Prawns with chips. Chowder. Chilli. Hamburgers. Fish Burger. "Flurry's". Shakes. It's like fast food without actually eating fast food!

Lerrel P.

Yelp
Water is a basic necessity. But this place doesn't seem to understand it. They charge us 3$ just for a cup of water.

Christine W.

Yelp
Not sure if there's been an ownership change or just price changes, but I will not be returning here again. $40 for 3 shakes, an order of the fish & chips (2 piece) and 1 cheeseburger /fries meal. I couldn't even purchase a meal per person and had it not been for the 2 VERY hungry children that were with me, I wouldn't have stayed to order. (Red Robin doesn't even charge this much for 2 meals & 3 drinks). The fish tasted like it was Van De Kamps frozen fish pieces, definitely not what was expected for spending $9.99 - the cheeseburger was decent but not gourmet & I thought the shakes would be a lot bigger, specially when they cost $5.99. The view and location are nice but seriously, if you're looking for good food, good views & fair prices - go down the way to Anthony's. Order from the bar menu (happy hour is 4-6) and most everything is $5. Dummy me, I should have just gone there!
