This store feels like such a treasure. It's filled with the most beautiful things, made by small makers and thoughtfully curated. I initially popped in because I knew they carried a small magazine that I love (they have a great selection of small publications), and was pleased to find gorgeous vintage apparel, stationary, self-care products and work from local artists. The type of business you want to support to keep your city vibrant.

The Likely General is a calm, serene and welcoming space that is equal parts shop and community hub. I always feel welcomed and attended to by the owner and staff, without any pressure or pretense. Beautifully curated quality goods, and a kind atmosphere. I am over 35 and not a hipster and by no means rich, but I have always been extended the most kindness and as much help as I needed if I asked for it. If I need to buy something unique and high-quality, this is my go to place. Love it! :)

I have so much love and respect for Brooke and her beautiful shop. I first discovered this shop when I moved into the Junction neighbourhood a year ago and I can honestly say that this shop has changed how I shop. I always had such an empty feeling when I would consume from big box stores. But when I support local shops like Likely, I feel so much happier knowing that I am supporting ethical labour, living wages, and many artists and makers' dreams. My possessions are so much more precious and meaningful for me now because of the work that Likely and other small businesses do. There is SO MUCH in this (relatively) small store! Every time I turned around, i found something else I hadn't looked at yet. It's astounding how much they've fit into this space. Ceramics, candles, jewellery and watches, apparel, bags, wallets, paper products, cosmetics, pins, patches, temporary tattoos, blankets, products for your baby, home goods, local zines and other publications, art... it is truly a general store. When I came by, they were also exhibiting some creations by a local artist in the back. Not sure if it's a general thing for them to have a rotating display of local art, but if that's the case, that's wonderful. The owner of the store is also so warm and friendly! Really a wonderful shopping experience.

Although the pandemic prevents me from seeing her this year, there will be a beautifully-wrapped package under her tree from Likely General. Love to support these kind of small indie stores and hope this place does well for itself. I've stopped by a number of times to buy gifts and have always left happy with my purchases, and the recipients have always been happy too. They have the usual gifty stuff like candles, ceramics, stationary, but their selections is way better than most other gift stores that have the same stuff over and over.

A quaint new addition to the Roncesvalles neighbourhood, Likely General is a -- you guessed it -- general store that offers a wide array of jewellery, cosmetics, bags, housewares, clothing, etc. to feast the eyes on. Prices are a touch on the expensive side (e.g. a bar of Mast Brothers chocolate here is $11 here, compared to $10 at a similar general store), but worth it for the well-curated selection of goodies. Notable mentions include a gorgeous canvas cocktail kit, a swoon-worthy selection of candles, and some beautiful jars of honey that I had to tear myself away from before my wallet shed tears of sorrow. They also offer workshops -- I believe there's a book binding workshop coming up in late August -- so keep your eyes and ears peeled for those.

Likely General is one of my favourite stores in Toronto. Every time I walk in, I just want to set up a beautiful glamping-styles tent, and just move in. Beautiful candles, jewelry, and homewares, as well as things like Kinfolk and Cereal magazine. I love love love all of their products, and the store itself just gives me a calm and peaceful feeling whenever I walk in the doors. Sunday afternoons, their resident tarot card reader Aimée Dawn Robinson is available, and she is AWESOME. I went for a little 15 minute reading the other weekend when I was strolling down Roncy, and it was a great experience. It didn't feel hokey or rushed; she knows her craft well, and is a pleasure to sit with. On top of all of this, the owner is a super friendly lady, who is the perfect kind of salesperson - knowledgeable, passionate about her products, honest, warm and not pushy. FIVE STARS.

The store is cute, and I especially liked the oversized bear pillow on the floor, it looked so real because it was done in Pointillism, and it looked like an actual bear was lying on the floor! Lots of soap, housewares, jewellery.. I wouldn't buy anything here you can find elsewhere, like those Duralex glasses they're selling for $10 but are only $4 at Williams-Sonoma (I think they bought the glasses there and are re-selling them). Slightly pricey but I also liked the selection and variety of things.

I enjoy stopping into Likely General every so often to take a look at what's new, and admire all the beautiful items, and art inside. There is always something interesting to see, to read, smell, touch, oggle etc. A nice place to spend a little time and, as the owner Brooke is such a lovely person, all staff so helpful, and all products so ethical, a nice place to spend a little $$ as well. Big X's and big O's to Likely forever.
