"A colorful facade, red- and white-checkered tablecloths, and paintings covering every inch of available wall space make Bar Liguria an endearing space for traditional Chilean comfort food with a side of bohemian vibes. Sopaipillas (classic deep-fried breads made with pumpkin) served with fresh pebre (traditional Chilean salsa) are a great way to start the meal before moving on to traditional dishes like ossobuco stewed in black beer or pastel de choclo chilote, a classic sweet corn and beef pie." - Bill Esparza, Hillary Eaton

"Santiago's Most Beloved Bar Liguria is an institution in Santiago . It's the default for meeting friends and colleagues over chilled draft beers called schops, or dangerously loaded cocktails. The bar scene is animated and starts in the late afternoon around happy hour and ends in the wee hours of the morning. The kitchen pumps out tasty Chilean bistro-style fare ranging from countryside rabbit in mustard sauce to their much renowned "carne mechada," a braised beef in tomato and red wine chopped up on pasta or sliced down into sandwiches. Get there early to score a table or make friends with the bartender. Best Locations: Metro Tobalaba on Luis Thayer Ojeda & Metro Manuel Montt (address listed here). Photo: Qantas"

I have only been there once, but we tried a total of 4 dishes. All excellent. I had sea urchin (erizos) for the first time. A creamy type of ceviche. I also had abalone (locos) for the first time. It is a small portion, but it was excellent. I like mollusks in general and this might take the cake as the best. The drinks were also great (a basil-based cocktail? It was a 10). There are two main dining areas: one is darker and more suited for an intimate dining experience; the other is larger, brighter, with a very tall ceiling. Highly recommended.

I'm told this is a well known restaurant but found myself here around midnight as one of the few things that was open that wasn't a dirty takeout place or fast food chain. It was an interesting restaurant decorated in a sort of East Coast Italian American vibe but the menu was more eclectic. I opted for a Cacharero and a separate portion of fries. Tasted really good but I felt it was a little overpriced for what it was. They have an outside section on the street for al fresco dining and had some good cocktail promotions. All in all, not a bad option especially if you're eating late.

Be still my beating heart....We found the perfect restaurant in Santiago thanks to Phil Rosenthal. He featured this gem in his "Somebody Feed Phil, Santiago" episode on Netflix, but we opted for the original site vs. the one he ate at. We loved everything about it, especially sitting in the back room which was eclectic, beautiful, bright and cheery. Our server was originally from USA so it made it easy for ordering. She walked us through the menu and told us some of her favorites. Everything we had was fantastic - including our drinks! Wish we could clone Liguria, would love to have a restaurant like this close by. Kudos for a job well done! (tip.. try the fish sandwich and the tuna).

Fun place. Service wasn't great because the place was full. We (4 persons) had congrio frito, mechada meat with spaghetti, merluza fish, ostiones= scallops parmesan, water, juice, all for 70,200 CLP or about 50 usd. All very good. (see photos).

Excellent food and service as usual, and of course a variety of quality wines. All that at very affordable prices. It is no wonder it has been there for over 30 years.

Good atmosphere, great food and drinks. Staff were very friendly with plenty of recommendations food and drink wise. I tried a few recommended cocktails which were nice but the highlight of the meal was the recommended cake of the day "Torta de Hojas" which stole the show. Definitely recommend dropping in for a bite and good hospitality.

We came on a Saturday night at 9:00, worried that they would stop taking new customers as they closed at 9:30. We shouldn’t have worried. They were very friendly and continued to serve and be open until 10:00! The place is huge with 3 big indoor rooms for sitting, as well as bar and outdoor. Online, they have an all-day menu that includes Chilean sandwiches. This is also available at night, but they also have another menu then that includes all the dishes you see in shared pictures. We grabbed 2 sandwiches for about 25 USD. They were big portions for my wife and I. Very tasty - we’re going to go back for proper (non-sandwich) cuisine.

Nice place to have lunch. The food was very good and the ambience was very nice as well. Inside there was a man playing piano and he was doing a great job. This is the first place ive been to that has the original „Kir“. The beer selection was really good (I asked for a recommendation and it was super tasty). The price was according to the portions of the food. Recommended 100%!
