Light Cafe

An exceptional spot for brunch. They have insanely good options especially the combo brunch ones. Got the lobster brunch. The croissant sandwich comes with lobster chunks, shrimp and scallion cream with mayo. You can feel the taste of each and every ingredient. Their mini pancakes were good, not sweet and perfect bite sized. The fries were great, light airy , crispy and not too oily. Also got the dolgona coffee. It was very well made.

Quite loud but wait time not too bad though it was still quite busy when I went on a Sunday morning at 11. Only waited less than 30 minutes. The food was very good and reasonably priced though. Not the biggest fan of their drinks but not bad either. The food is definitely more of the highlight. I have also gotten take out from here and food quality still holds up as take out but obviously in person is still better. The mini pancakes are definitely a highlight for me. The eggs were also perfectly cooked and seasoned. All of the food pictures was actually delicious.

The food is amazing. Big portion for the price. I also like their huge selection of Asian inspired beverages, but the quality can be better though. I think the restaurant doesn’t have a very good back kitchen exhaust system, so the whole dinning area is full of smoke. But this is only relevant if you have a sensitive nose. I was having quite a headache because of it.

Service and atmosphere is nice. Servers are really friendly and up beat. However the food I received wasn't edible. I ordered a chicken teriyaki sandwich with sweet potato fries. The chicken in the sandwich wasn't cooked properly, it was rubbery, chewy, and was a little pink. Half the sweet potato fries were uncooked. I was biting into raw sweet potato half the time. Perhaps it was a one off but luckily they added a small discount.

We were able to get a table right away, although it was a week day so that makes sense. The service was quick! The black tea was amazing as it was the perfect amount of sweetness and the chicken salad was great as well. The waffle fries are the best ones I’ve had as they are seasoned so well!

Great spot for brunch with good food. They have many variations of brunch plates, sandwiches, dessert and drinks on their menu. The service was a little slow but you’re able to place the order in person through their QR code placed on the table. The restaurant itself is spacious and bright. Overall, it’s a good brunch spot in the city.

Absolutely my favourite brunch spot downtown. Can't tell you how many times I've ordered from them in the past. This was my first time in person and the interior was really cute and the service super nice and fast. Food was delicious as always. I highly recommend the salmon avocado croissant. Can't wait to come back here again!!

Light cafe is such a good brunch option near UofT! This was my second time here, and they did not disappoint. My favourites are the mini buttermilk pancakes, and the waffle fries! There’s a lot of seating and when they aren’t busy they never rush you out to leave and even saw a few people studying as well. So spacious and clean, and the service was amazing!
