Le Rock is an energetic upscale French brasserie at Rockefeller Center, serving flawlessly executed dishes in a chic Art Deco space that feels effortlessly glam.
"Le Rock's $185 three-course prix fixe menu hasn’t been announced just yet, but here are two important things we do know. One: This brasserie inside Rockefeller Center is very good. Two: The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will be up and decorated by Thanksgiving (though it won’t be lit). Start your holiday season off with a two-for-one bang." - neha talreja, molly fitzpatrick
"“Sometimes I want a Midtown Moment. I want to dress up a little and maybe even put my hair in an updo. For those moments, I love Le Rock, the uptown sibling of another of my forever favorites, Frenchette. With a martini in hand, french fries in front of me, and their dessert cart roving in the near distance, I feel impossibly glam.”" - brennan carley
"Why is there an exceptional restaurant across from the rink at Rockefeller Center? No one knows. But don’t complain. Le Rock, from the Frenchette team, is a godsend for anyone planning a special meal in Midtown. With entrees that start around $40, this place isn’t cheap—you may need someone to rub your temples when the check arrives—but that’s the only downside. From the chopped steak and fried tripe to the agnolotti and escargot served under rounds of toast, the food is fantastic. The Art Deco-inspired dining room is also impressive, and you may see someone you recognize from the cover of TV Guide Magazine." - bryan kim, willa moore, neha talreja, sonal shah, will hartman
"The luxury of a dessert souffle is on full display at this Rockefeller Center dazzler. Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr, the team behind Frenchette, have brought in Michelle Palazzo as executive pastry chef. Currently, a cherry soufflé is available for dinner: The eggy concoction dissolves on the tongue like a cloud, while the requisite creme anglaise (poured tableside) helps bring down the temperature and add a dose of richness." - Eater Staff, John Tsung
"This restaurant from the team behind Frenchette (also an excellent bistro) is one of several new hospitality projects to arrive at Rockefeller Center, and it’s perhaps the only new spot in the plaza that New Yorkers from all over have flocked to. In a grand Art Deco dining room, Le Rock is impossibly chic, suited more for special occasion dining than some of the more neighborhood-y bistros on this list. The food, like a bison au poivre, seafood towers, with petit fours dessert, strikes the right note for a worthy Midtown splurge." - Eater Staff
