Do Sunday chicken and unlimited fries at Le Repaire de Cartouche mostly for the atmosphere and very insane wine list. Chicken is fine but place is cool.

It wasn't a pleasant experience at all. We were 8 people and ordered a lot of food to share. Apart from the white asparagus, foie gras and partially pot of pork nothing was tasty. Steaks were quite tough and chewy even though all were cooked nice. The dough to cover the terrine was soft and spongy rather than crispy. We expected a nice crust. The sole fish was full of bones and didn't taste or smell pleasant. Chicken pie was cooked properly however taste was limited. Not my type of an authentic French restaurant.

Very pleasant surprise in this restaurant. Walked in after having a hard time finding any place to eat in the area without reservation and Le Repaire de Cartouche did not disappoint. Very french but very warm welcome by the hostess, staff and chefs. Some are more aggressive but you feel it’s part of the vibe of the place which makes you feel you left Paris to a more authentic French village. The complimentary fishy “rilette” is actually very nice. The starters are also very nice with a delicous foie gras made in-house and very peculiar dishes with even more peculiar ingredients: oysters tartare, terrine de lievre,… In mains, I had the parmentier de lievre which has the chef-d’œuvres of the lunch. Not a lot of fuss, just very good ingredients and taste and definitely not to miss. The way they serve the cheese plate for desert is also super nice with a huge tray of cheese that circulates between the tables. Overall a good experience to try, and maybe even to come back to for trying different dishes. Price wise, it is still quite expensive if you compare it to any other regular bistrot, but you are definitely getting very good ingredients and originality in your dishes that justify this price difference. Side note: it is very cute that they sell hundreds of jars of their different dishes that you can buy and take away. These jars are very pricey but also add to the “fait-maison” feeling of this location.

We were a family of six, but don't expect any fruit juices for the kids (wine or coke, that's it). Also don't expect to much service; very impatient to downright rude, not very willing to add any information to the menu, running off without a word midst ordering. As for the food; alright. But my tip: go straight for the desert; order a cheese plate and don't safe on a good wine! That's all you need!

Run, don’t walk to Le Repaire de Cartouche. Incredible food, great staff, fun time. Come on Sunday for the brunch buffet, it’s undefeated. I hope you like terrines!

A friend suggested us to go here for Sunday lunch, however, due to work we had to change our train back to London and we couldn't try on Sunday. So, we decided to come here tonight (Friday). The place was completely empty, from the moment we arrived (8pm) to the moment that we left (10pm). Maybe that was a red flag, but we did not care, as we really wanted to try this place. We had a very big and late lunch, so we did not want to go for starters/main/dessert. We ordered some fois gras, some cheese and some wine. On the menu, we pointed at Fois Gras (28 euros) and Fromage (10 euros) for two. The waiter was not very happy of us not ordering the traditional way, but you are a waiter, you are not there to tell me how and what should I eat, so I just smiled and insisted for having the cheeses as starters, and not as dessert. I found it very dumb just having this conversation: just bring me what I order! Who cares the order in which I decide to eat the food I pay for? Anyway.. Fois gras was nice, but nothing special. The bread was delicious and the waiter kept refilling it without us asking which I thought it was a very nice hospitality gesture. But the hospitality started and ended there. We decide to leave as we were too sleepy so we ask for the bill: we were charged 60 euro for the cheeses (the cheeses were a LOT and we couldn't finish them at all, some of them we did not even touch). So we ask why the cheeses were so expensive, as the menu stated 10 euros and we asked that for two people, so we expected to pay 20 euros. Anyway, we decide that okay, maybe there was a misenderstanding, so can we please have the rest of the cheeses to take away? If I have to pay 60 euros at least I will eat my cheeses whenever and wherever I please. The waiter tells us that we can't eat cheeses outside, only here. There is no option to take away (?). What is this nonsense? Anyway, they accept to give us back the cheeses in take away (foil paper) but conveniently for them, the bigger pieces and the ones we did not touch were not in the take away "package". Absolutely ridicolous, what a joke of a restaurant. Anyway, they ended up removing from the bill half price for the cheeses and we left. Be careful, if you order cheeses, they probably come from someone else's table, where people breath, cough and spit on top. Health and safety rules probably don't apply to this restaurant. Maybe that is the reason why it was empty! Never again!!!

I'm a big fan of this place for a wonderful lunch. I've dined with them for both their set lunch during the week, and for their amazing Sunday set menu which I can't recommend enough. Chef Rodolphe is a convivial and jovial host, who will happily regale you with a good story, and chat about the finer details of his menu. He's known as the King of Terrines for good reason. The Sunday menu is incredible value, with a selection of oysters, seafood, terrine and salads to start, followed by roast chicken, frites and bearnaise, and cheeses and desserts. All I can say is just book it, book it right now and have a wonderful time! Great wine list, friendly hosts who were very patient with my not very good French, and lovely atmosphere.

Beautiful place with a warm atmosphere and gorgeous food. They were very kind to me despite my rusty grasp on french, and i really felt welcomed at this place. best night in paris was largely due to dinner here.

Yelp
Had a COVID test performed at the pharmacie next door and decided to have a few beers here while we waited for results. Negative, by the way. Only stayed for drinks, but the staff was friendly and spoke English. Nice little alfresco dining table on a quieter street. Worth a visit.

Yelp
Looks like the reviews so far have all been positive but I'm sorry to say our group of 5 Americans all had a poor experience at dinner here. The pork dish was too fatty to eat more than half of, the rabbit was tough as was the cut of Normandy beef. We were disappointed there was not a full bar, and the wine we had was not to our liking either. The chicken dish was heavily covered in gravy but not flavorful. Overall, just wouldn't recommend this place- especially at its high-ish price point! Seemed less like classic french cuisine and more like a hunters stew sort of place.

Yelp
Our first time in Paris and this restaurant was recommended to us. We stopped by for lunch and the service was poor and the food was terrible! Even the dessert was bad, which is hard to ruin!

Yelp
Impressive place. Stellar good food and service. Winelist is impressive. Honest/traditional French food in the best way possible without being stuffy at all.

Yelp
Yes. It's that good. Sweet little place just down the street from our hotel. We were too tired to walk further so glad to see a place nearby with such good reviews. We ordered the evening menu which offered great variety of traditional French fare. Wait staff were attentive and the food was really good. I would highly recommend this place.

Yelp
The food was not so good and they even ripped us off We went there on the 8th of April we had a bad experience when visiting this restaurant . With a help of this waitress who speaks a little Japanese, we ordered two entries, one main dish and one dessert with three glasses of wine. Then the bill came which said 118 Euro for the total price. We told them we didn't want water but the bill included 10 Euros for two sodas and 40 Euros for some expensive drinks which we didn't even order. We pointed out the wrong charge. They paid us back 34 Euros in cash without being apologetic. It wasn't just a mistake that they accidentally added more drinks to the bill for sure as this waitress spoke Japanese and explained about food and menu to us. It is a real bummer when things like this happen, when they rip off people who don't understand French and people especially from Japan. We hope they don't do the same things again to our Japanese travelers.
