Discover Lan Larb, a cozy Thai hideaway in Chinatown, where spicy Northern flavors shine in dishes like duck larb and creamy Tom Yum—perfect for a casual bite.
"If you like spicy thai, this is the place. The lunch menu is a great deal and the vegetables are always crisp and never overcooked." - My Orange Box
"Legendary Thai chef Ratchanee Sumpatboon (Chao Thai, Poodam, Zabb Elee, and Larb Ubol) was the founding chef here, and much of her menu remains though she has since left the restaurant. Watch the soups, in particular: Kui teiw ped is the best duck soup you’ve ever tasted. In the last couple of years, the restaurant has increasingly emphasized the food of Chiang Mai, which includes whole fish with chiles wrapped in a banana leaf, braised pork belly in herb sauce served with sticky rice, and a variety of distinctive curries." - Robert Sietsema
"Lan Larb on Centre Street in Soho has kept Infatuation staff fed for many years now. Everything on the menu is great, but we particularly recommend the duck larb, the pad kee mao, and any of the side street noodle or curry options. Delivery is always fast, and the food shows up hot." - hannah albertine, bryan kim
"Once an Isan restaurant with roots in Hell’s Kitchen, Lan Larb switched a couple of years back to being one of the few Thai restaurants representing the food of the country’s far-north Chiang Mai region, where noodles are king. Noodle dishes incorporate mung bean thread, wheat noodles, and rice noodles, and the signature dish is the soup with two kinds of noodles called khao soi." - Robert Sietsema, Melissa McCart
"Lan Larb offers a variety of Thai dishes from Chiang Mai, including braised duck with herbal gravy and sides of Chinese broccoli and sweet-pickled ginger." - Eater Staff
